Gilbert Arenas Returns To "Agent Zero" Form, Single-Handedly Dominates Cavs

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Last season we saw a disappointing version of the Gilbert Arenas we all used to know. It seemed as if he was only going through the motions, and couldn't dominate games like he used to, no matter how hard he tried. No one knew what to expect from Arenas this evening though. He had a solid game in his season debut on 11/03/2009, as the Wizards traveled to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. Gilbert put up 19 points in an 89 to 79 victory over a young, inexperienced Grizzlies team.

Based on the moves that the Cleveland Cavaliers made this off-season, any NBA fan would tell you that this team would be virtually unstoppable this season. The Cavs added Shaquille O'Neal, Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon and Leon Powe to their arsenal, among others. This is almost the same exact team that won 66 games last season and had the best record in the NBA, but with only a new group of added talent.

Eastern Conference rivals clashed this evening, in a battle of veteran talent at the Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland. Washington came out of the gate strong, outscoring the Cavaliers 29 to 17 in the first quarter. There were many exciting plays that got the home-town fans up on their feet in the second quarter of play, but they were eventually quieted by one man, Gilbert "Agent Zero" Arenas. During the second half of the game the Cavs made a huge scoring run, turning around a double-digit point deficit. This run really had no effect as Arenas just kept piling in the points for Washington. He finished the game with an incredible 51 points. Lebron James led the way for Cleveland with 28 points in 37 minutes of play. Shaquille O'Neal scored 20 points and snatched 7 rebounds in his first game with the Cavaliers. Mike Miller made his Wizard debut tonight after missing his first game with Washington. He had a nice, all-around performance as he scored 6 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished 6 assists, and blocked one shot. His stats are pretty ironic though, as his jersey number is also 6. The Cavaliers lost the game with the final score being 117 to 101, Washington.

The in game pictures you took are very nice to look at and I like how you just didn't take a bunch of pictures dunking on people. The Gilbert Arenas picture looks like something that would be plastered all over the nba.com homepage.

Arenas and the Wizards always seem to do good against me whenever I play them. The real life Cavs also seem to struggle whenever they play Washington in the regular season. Who wouldn't love a picture of Arenas and Butler being posterized?

Exceptional Defense Helps Cavs Grind Out First Win Of Season In Charlotte

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Charlotte Bobcats started off their NBA season with an impressive win in front of their home crowd against the Orlando Magic on 11/06/2009. They defeated the Magic with a final score of 108 to 81, Orlando. Raymond Felton and newcomer Stephen Jackson both scored 20 points each. That was the first game Stephen played with the Bobcats. Last season he was very upset with the position of his team in Golden State with the Warriors. He demanded a trade, and eventually got what he wished for. Jackson and Acie Law were sent to Charlotte in return for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic. Most Bobcat fans were unsure how this trade would work out for their team, as they already had a franchise player in Gerald Wallace. The trade looked great after their win against the Magic, but not so much after that. Charlotte came into this game against the Cavaliers riding a two game losing streak. They lost to Stephen's former team, the Warriors, on 11/13/2009 and to the Utah Jazz on 11/16/2009.

Cleveland is coming into this matchup with a terrible taste in their mouth. That taste is from being defeated by a conference rival, at home, during their season debut. They didn't play a terrible game by any means. In his Cavalier debut Shaquille O'Neal scored 20 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, blocked 3 shots, dished out 1 assist and had 1 steal. Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon also both played their first games for Cleveland. Anthony Parker contributed 6 points, snatched 5 rebounds, got 2 assists and both a steal and a block in the loss. Jamario Moon put up 5 points, 2 steals and 1 assist in a very energetic effort. Gilbert Arenas dropped 51 points to seal an easy victory for the Washington Wizards though. After that loss, the Cavs could really use a win against an uneasy team.

Tonight the Bobcats played host to the Cavaliers at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. Cleveland took a 23 to 19 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. They held a solid lead throughout most of the game. Delonte West made a great contribution coming off of the bench scoring 14 points and setting up his teammates with 5 assists. The dynamic duo of LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal had a terrific night, combining for 47 points, 26 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks and 2 steals. The only player from the Bobcats that stood out in particular was Boris Diaw. He didn't do much damage to the Cavs though. Diaw had a stellar night, posting 25 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists. He also led the team in minutes played with 42. The Cavaliers won the game with the final score being 107 to 100, Cleveland.

Richardson, Frye, Stoudemire Fend Off Cavs In Shaq's Return To The Desert

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Suns desperately fought for a playoff spot last season, but ultimately fell short of achieving one. Phoenix ended up placing ninth in the Western Conference. They have started off this season with one win and two losses. The Suns opened their season at home on 11/03/2009, when they faced the energetic Atlanta Hawks. Phoenix lost this game with a final score of 104 to 98, Atlanta. All-Star swingman Joe Johnson scored 21 points to seal the victory for his team. Hoping to bounce back after a devastating loss like that, the Suns traveled to Chicago to take on the Bulls at the United Center on 11/09/2009. They won this affair with a final score of 103 to 101, Phoenix. Amar'e Stoudemire and Steve Nash both posted double-doubles. Stoudemire had 29 points and 15 rebounds, while Nash had 24 points and 10 assists. In their most recent outing, the Suns faced the Hornets in New Orleans, Louisiana on 11/17/2009. Phoenix fell short of a win by 18 points with the final score being 88 to 106, New Orleans. Chris Paul had an incredible game for the Hornets. He scored 35 points, dished 10 assits and grabbed 8 rebounds. Chris is truly one of the league's best young stars.

This is the Cavaliers' third game of a subpar season for them thus far. They disappointingly lost their home opener against the Washington Wizards. They looked like a completely different team during their next outing though. Cleveland defeated the Charlotte Bobcats by 7 points on the road. They traveled to Phoenix today to take on a Suns team who has also only has 1 win this season. Will the Cavs be able to slow down the run-and-gun Suns in Shaq's return to Phoenix?

A battle of NBA stars was displayed tonight at the US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix. The Suns took a strong 28 to 24 lead at the end of a tight first quarter. The Cavs were still in the game though, but not for long. Propelled by defensive stops and a scoring run, Phoenix took a 64 to 52 lead at half-time. Cleveland was able to cut the deficit into single digits during the second half, but could not take the lead. Both teams had three players that scored 20 plus points each. Jason Richardson lead all scorers with 23 points, while teammate Channing Frye had 22 points. LeBron James finished the game with 21 points to lead the Cavs. Shaquille O'Neal, Mo Williams and Amar'e Stoudemire each had 20 points on the night. Frye, Stoudemire and Steve Nash all posted double-doubles in this game. The Cavaliers lost the game with the final score being 106 to 128, Phoenix.
