Not a dream start for the Mavs, Kings upset them at home

Image

Dallas, TX

The young and totally disappointing during the last NBA season Sacramento Kings squad started off the 2009-10 regular season with a blast. Paul Westphal's side won away from home against one of the top teams in the Western Conference - the Dallas Mavericks, with Jason Terry, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd. The game started off better for the Kings, who early in the first were led by rookie Tyreke Evans and by 5-year vet Francisco Garcia, as well as Donte Greene who came great off the bench. The Kings took the first 18:25, as they didn't stop and also won in the second period - 10:14, which gave them a 11-point lead at halftime - 28:39

Things didn't change much after halftime, as Dallas were struggling to find the right rhytm on offense, and at one point, the Kings were up by 21 points. In the closing quarter, and actually, the last minute, all the Mavs managed to do was get the difference down to 10, after three 3-pointers by Jason Terry.

"Great, I would lie if I tell you that I expected a win. I just wanted the boys to go out there and give everything they can, no matter what happens, and right now I'm really proud of my team" said Kings coach Paul Westphal.
"Terrible, that's really terrible, losing to the weakest team in the league from last season, and we think of ourselves as contenders, I don't wanna comment" declared disappointed Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle.

"It was a bad game, but you have games like this, you know... I hope we can get back on winning from our next game" said Jason Kidd. Asked on what does he think about Tyreke Evans, he said: "That kid is special, he is gonna be something big in this league. I have never seen such a skilled player at the point, and at 6-6."

Kings:
Kevin Martin 17 points 4 assists 1 steal 1 turnover
Francisco Garcia 15 points 2 rebounds 2 assists 2 steals 2 blocks
Tyreke Evans 7 points 11 assists 2 rebounds 3 steals 1 turnover 1 block

Donte Greene 9 points 1 block
Sean May 4 points 1 rebound 1 assist 2 steals
Sergio Rodriguez 2 points 1 rebound 2 assist 1 turnover
Andres Nocioni 2 points 1 assist 1 turnover
Melvin Ely 2 rebounds

Mavs

Good win to start the season. Maybe playing 6 minutes, you fall short at realistic scores.

Great start and team choice. I would also recommend playing 8 minute quarters for realistic scores. Good luck with this. Might I recommend doing the rumored Okafor to Kings deal?

Great start, and great win, looking forward to the updates! Might I suggest also posting screenshots of both team's box scores? It makes the stats a lot easier to comprehend than straight text. :)

Good luck!

Kings announce Okafor deal
Sacramento, CA

Image

The Sacramento Kings announced that they have agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Hornets, that would send in Louisiana veteran Kenny Thomas plus a first round pick next year, in exchange of Emeka Okafor. Okafor, who originaly has Nigerian origins started his NBA career with the Charlotte Bobcats, after playing college basketball at UConn. He spent five seasons with the Bobcats, before eventually being traded to the New Orleans Hornets, in exchange of Tyson Chandler. "It's sad to see Kenny leave, after he spent so much time with our team, but that's the way things go." said Geoff Petrie. 6-7 Thomas played 5 seasons with the Kings, as before that he played for Philadelphia and Houston, he is a tremendous rebounder.

On the other side, Okafor is just what the team needs - a defensive presence in the paint. The 6-10/255 big man can play both the power forward and the center, but probably, Paul Westphal will start him at the center and Spencer Hawes will come off the bench.

In his NBA career so far, Okafor has played 330 games, starting in 326. His averages are 14.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. He is still looking for his first playoff appearance.

Nice dynasty, nice deal. I don't think the Kings would feel sad to see Kenny Thomas, or hey let's say Kenny Thomas' contract, leave. Good surprising win over the Mavs. Keep it up! (Y)

Kings active on the market, add McCants, Marbury

Image Image
Picture 1: It's up to Starbury, if he's going to the bench, or will he get much minutes
Picture 2: Rashad McCants decided that signing with the Kings is going to be better than modelling.

Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento Kings continued their activity on the market, after bringing in center Emeka Okafor from New Orleans. Today the Kings press office announced the signing of two free agents - Rashad McCants, who spent the last season with Sacramento, and Stephon Marbury, who played last for the Boston Celtics, but didn't agree to sign for this year for the veteran minimum. The terms of the deals aren't going to be announced, due to team policy, but it's known that McCants' deal is for 2 years, while Starbury signed for this season with a team option for the contract to be extended.

After the latest moves, there are some players who obviously aren't going to be needed. The Kings placed on the trading block Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez, and veteran guard Ime Udoka.

Last season McCants, who came into the NBA from North Carolina appeared in 24 games for the Kings, putting up pretty good numbers - 10.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.4 minutes, shooting 44% from beyond the arc.

Stephon Marbury appeared in 23 contests for the Celtics, as the former All-Star averaged 3.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 18 minutes per game.

Rashad McCants about his tattoos
rashadmccants1.com

AS A PERSON WITH A NUMBER OF TATTOOS, I know that there is always a reason for having a tat, whether it is last minute, or planned for years.

Image
"There is nothing like a fresh tattoo. The look of it. The feel of it. Knowing that it hurt so bad, and you wanted to quit. Just like life."
Lots of people with tattoos take the risk of never getting a job because they say tattoos are not professional. I am here to share with the world how many people that are talented and professional with tattoos.

In the coming months, Tinted Tattoos will evolve into a place where people from around the world share their tattoos and the meaning behind them.

Life Is Pain
A tattoo is self expression. The ability to express oneself through mixed words or pictures to describe that moment, that person, that picture, that belief. Some people get tattoos just so people can see that they are daring enough to get one.

My greatest analogy for tattoos is that life is pain. The new challenges you encounter in life present a type of pain that could make a person give up. The moment you feel the discomfort, you divert to what's comfortable and less painful. But a tattoo makes it all mental. Separating the mind from body and focusing on the outcome of the challenge. The pain never lasts forever -- it's just temporary. In life, going through bad times also means good times are soon to follow. The moment you decide not to fight the bad times, everything turns around for you. And the outcome is more satisfying then ever.

That's the same with a tattoo. It hurts like hell the moment that needle touches your skin. And it continues to hurt until its done. And even a couple days after. But, just as with life's trials and tribulations, the pain subsides and the outcome is everlasting. There is nothing like a fresh tattoo. The look of it. The feel of it. Knowing that it hurt so bad, and you wanted to quit.

Just like life. When all goes bad, you just wanna quit. But the moment you decide it's not so bad, that if you just take the pain everything will be fine, is the moment you realize life isn't so bad. You can say to yourself, I'll never get another tattoo. Then your second one comes. You had already sat through one tattoo. And you know you can sit through another. One becomes three. Three becomes six. And six becomes 12. Then you become a mentally invincible to pain on the skin.

Smart trade with Emeka, he will become a valuable asset to your team.

I remember playing with McCants in one of my previous dynasties, I found him difficult to work with on the court. Hopefully you find him easier to use than I did. :P

Rockets upset Kings in a triple OT thriller

Image
Marbury with the Kings uniform

Houston,TX

After getting off to a great start of the season, and defeating away from home the Dallas Mavericks, the Sacramento Kings lost their second game in a row in Texas, as this time, the opponent were the Houston Rockets. Paul Westphal's side got off to a great start of the game, and after showing some great field goal percentage, led the game 34:23 after the first quarter was done. Former Sacramento coach Rick Adelman, who is in charge of the Rockets now, wasn't going to let this game go off so easy for the Kings, and the Rockets got back in it after the second period, as the score halfway through the game was 45:43 - 2 points more for the home side. It was all close in the third, as the lead was changing a lot of times, but after 36 minutes of play it was still the Rockets leading - 70:67. In the decisive fourth period, the Kings got off to a better start, and were already thinking how they had this game won, when Trevor Ariza tied the game at 91:91. After that the Rockets came back in the game two times - at the end of the first OT, after an last second shot by Ariza, and at the end of the second, after a long jumper by Shane Battier. It was Battier who actually won the game for his side. He scored a three-pointer to give the Rockets a 146:143 lead. Tyreke Evans drove to the basket and scored an easy two, and after that Trevor Ariza was fouled with 2.6 seconds left on the clock. The former LA Laker missed both free-throws, but Carl Landry got the rebound and put the game to an end.

Trevor Ariza scored the most points for the Rockets - 27, while Shane Battier added 20, while power forward Luis Scola notched in 25. Aaron Brooks had 17 and 18 assists, and Carl Landry and Kyle Lowry added 11 and 10.

For Sacramento Kevin Martin stringed 34 points, but that wasn't enough. Emeka Okafor had 21 and 8 boards in his debut as a King, while Francisco Garcia added 19. Jason Thompson had 18, and Tyreke Evans had career highs in points and assists in his second game as a pro - 16 points and 20 assists. Donte Greene scored 14 points coming off the bench. Stephon Marbury and Rashad McCants played in their first Kings game this season, as Starbury had 2 points and 7 assists, while McCants finished with 9 points.

Actually, I think only Tyreke can perform like this in real life... Brooks ain't a PG for me. I was so mad after that loss haha
