Dynasty HOF: 2005

Postby Fresh8 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:08 pm

We are wanting to pick out the top dynasty threads from each year so that they can be stickied and thus displayed more promiently in the Dynasty Hall of Fame.

I have created polls for each year and depending on the results (hopefully we do get people voting) as well as depth of the contending threads, we will choose which ones and how many from each year to display. What I propose is that the winner of the poll gets direct privilege of being sitckied while the voting thread remains open for you to add discussion on what other stories deserve merit.

So please vote as well as leave your opinions!

Here are the nominees for...

2005

Sepraph’s The Vinsane Kiddz Click Here
Sit’s Dynasty (Lakers) Click Here
The X’s Bobcats Dynasty Click Here
Weaver’s Polishing Up Gold Click Here

The Poll runs for 14 days. A winner will be announced and this will be forwarded onto Andrew - as will suggestions for threads that did not win voting to be conisdered for being sitckied.

Due to the number of nominees, you are allowed to pick 2 options from the list

I picked the two options that are going to win in X's Bobcats and Mafia's Answer Incomplete. The X's Bobcats is my favorite dynasty of all time, and is perhaps the most realistic successful rebuild in dynasty history. His scouting reports are gravy. Meanwhile, Mafia's dynasty had the biggest following ever, garnering the most amount of views and replies ever.

*Honorable mention to Micchy, Seraph and Sit.

Thanks for nice words Lamrock.

IMHO 2005 was the year of the Dynasty as Live '05 was the last really good PC version released. I would compare that year of dynasties to the 2003 NBA Draft. Admittedly there was the fair share of Darko's, but overall it was stellar. I found the 'friendly' competition pushed each dynasty head to improve their dynasties. I think that's what is missing these days.

Lebron James - Mafia's Answer Incomplete (look at the numbers & you can't argue)
Carmelo Anthony - Micchy's Lakers Dynasty (he put up big numbers offensively as a lot of Lakers fan boys around)
Chris Bosh - My Bobcats Dynasty (found my own niche as I tried to provide a realistic portrayal of the struggles of turning an expansion franchise into a playoff calibre team. Along the way I encouraged user interaction even if it went off topic every now & then. If it hadn't of been for a dbf corruption error, I would've continued this dynasty at least from a sim perspective. Looking back it took me a good 3 months to get people following it. I guess nobody wants to look at Bobcats' dynasty & shows people that you should stick in there)
Dwayne Wade - Cocobee's Bobcats (did things that left the rest of us in awe)
David West - Seraph's Net (solid all-star dynasty that probably didn't stand out compared to its peers but deserves to be mentioned alongside them)
Josh Howard - Sit's Lakers (Sit's last non-story dynasty)
Mo Williams - Weaver's Gold (quirky, sometimes a little arrogant but is a nice guy & you can't deny the dynasty)

Some great threads there, but I have to go with X and Mafia.
