The Big C's road to glory (NBA Live 04)

Postby Loupeitak on Wed Oct 21, 2009 6:53 pm

Hi and welcome to my new dynasty for the Boston Celtics. I hope this turns out to be the first Dynasty I actually complete. I am playing NBA Live 04 because I lost my other NBA Live games and I’m only getting my PS3 and NBA Live 10, hopefully, for Christmas.
Yes, I did make a change to the rosters. I have added K.G. and Ray Allen, simply because I wanted to play with the 3 Big C’s. Please don’t angry :(.
I’ll try to play at least a game every day and write up a recap. I will ask for suggestions from time like if I feel someone else should take the starting position or if I should try and snag someone off a good trade.

Boston Celtics 2003-2004 Preview:

The Boston Celtics have been busy over this pre-season. After managing to acquire Ray Allen off Seattle and Kevin Garnett off Minnesota, Boston have signed a new head coach for the team, Pedro Silva. Pedro has had some experience coaching in China and Europe managing to get a few titles along the way. Making his debut in the NBA, Pedro looks to be excited to coach such a talented roster.

The new trio of K.G., Ray Allen and Paul Pierce looks to be an awesome combination on paper. Garnett can be very physical on the low-post, rebounds very well and actually has quite a mid-range game should it be necessary. Both Ray Allen and Paul Pierce should combine very well being so explosive to reach the rim while still having quite the jump shot. Along with Tony Battie handling the center position and Tony Delk leading the team in the Point Guard position, Boston’s starting 5 look to be promising.

Should the need arise; Celtic’s bench isn’t something to scoff at either. All of them can play good minutes and still post quite some numbers on the board.

Will this be the Celtic’s season? We just have to wait and see.

Boston Celtics blow out New Orleans Hornets for first game:

The Boston Celtics started off the season with a huge bang as they dominated the New Orleans Hornets in a 116-67 win. New Orleans started off nicely as they got a 6-0 run right off the bat. However the Celtics woke up and with a blink of an eye were up by double digits. New acquisition Kevin Garnett dominated the low post in the first quarter and wrecked havoc against his defender, Magloire.

In the second quarter, Boston didn’t stop their onslaught, with sharp-shooters Ray Allen and Paul Pierce making short work of the Hornet’s defence with fast penetrations and mid-range shooting. After the first half, New Orleans was already pushed, ripped, torn and thrown aside as they were losing 60-35.

The third quarter had come by, but Boston didn’t stop there. They still played 2 minutes with most of their starters and the gap grew. Finally new coach Pedro Silva finally decided to put the bench to the test and pulled his key players from the game. However, Boston’s bench proved to be incredible as they kept dominating the boards and clamped down on defence even harder. In the third quarter alone, Boston had 20 bench points out of the 28 scored.

In the final quarter, Pedro Silva kept changing his bench players around checking how each and every player played in different situations and positions. Boston’s defence was still a force to be reckoned with as they kept New Orleans to a game-low 16 points in the final quarter. They also racked in 13 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 steals, proving to everyone how hard-working their defence was.

In the end, Boston’s first game turned out to be a blow-out. Big K.G. was awarded player of the game, with 22 points, 12 rebounds (3 offensive and 9 defensive) and 6 blocks in 20 minutes of game. Ray Allen led the team with 27 big points while Paul Pierce had 16.
At the bench, key players were Mike James with 8 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in 13 minutes of game time and Mark Blount with a massive 7 rebounds, 6 blocks and 4 points in only 9 minutes.

On the other hand New Orleans guard Wesley led the team with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Magloire had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Star Baron Davis had foul problems starting off, but still posted 11 points and 6 assists. However he had a bad game with 8 turnovers.

Player of the Game:
Kevin Garnett – 22 Pts, 12 Rebs, 6 Blks, 1 Ast.

Author Note: This game has such an unrealistic score because I accidentally played with a lower difficulty (Starter) and only found out after the game had ended. I apologize to New Orleans Hornets fans for such a beat-down :P.
