Days before the season opening a shocking trade woke up the city of Washington.Antawn Jamison will no more play for the Wizards.He was traded to the New Jersey Nets while the Wizards receive a first round draft pick from the '10 draft and the young power forward,Area 51 - Sean Williams."The Wizards had nice times with Antawn.He was one of our best players in the past years but now its time to part ways.Thank you,Antawn for everything and good luck !" said the Wizards GM.
Wizards decide to bring some fresh power to their team with Sean Williams.He's got some potential.Sean is rebounding well and he can dunk the ball better than the most players in the association.The Wizards board thinks that he will be nice addition to the team.Sean will start as Power Forward in the opening game at Verizon Center against his former team,the New Jersey Nets.

Good defense and nice perimeter shooting gave Wizards their first win for the season as they beat the Nets 80 to 68.In a game which shows how NBA teams can play defense Washington were the better team.They lost only the 3rd quarter 22 - 21.First quarter was very boring for the people in Verizon Center,Wizards took it 19 to 14.Then in the 2nd it came Gilbert's moment as he scored 9 consecutive points(2 3pointers) to made a good lead.He also scored amazing buzzer - beater at the half time end to which make it 41 to 33.The newcomer did well in the paint and he played very well against former Wizard - Antawn Jamison.Anyway Jamison scored 15 points but that was not enough.In the 4th quarter New Jersey tried to "catch" Washington but Mike Miller and Gilbert Arenas scored some nice points to secure the win.
Gilbert Arenas was the player of the game with 21 points,6 assists and 3 rebounds.He scored 4 from 5 three-pointers.Sean Williams added 12 points,6 rebounds and 4 assists.Mike Miller had 11 and Caron Butler 10.
For the Nets Devin Harris played well with 17 points,8 assists and 4 steals but he was fouled out late in the 4th.As said Jamison had 15 points,Bobby Simmons was the other player who passed the 10 points with 10.Brook Lopez was the rebounding leader with 11.

Washington Wizards continued to add new players to their team.After they waived point guard Mike James they had to fill this place.Wizards sign Franchise - Steve Francis on a 1yr/$3.12million deal.Francis will play with number 12 and he'll be a 2nd option point guard in the team.
Steve Francis was drafted in 1999 by the Vancouver Grizzlies but he played for the Houston Rockets,Orlando Magic,New York Knicks and last he played for The Rockets again.He averages 18.1 ppg,6.0 apg,1.5 spg in his career.Francis is knowh about his gravity defying dunks and his killer crossovers.He was welcomed very good from the players in the team and from the crowd in Verizon Center where he was introduced.He'll make his debut in the next game.

The Washington Wizards are surprising the whole world with their play.They are the team that everyone wants to see not like the last year.With Arenas back and Sean Williams + Steve Francis here,Washington could make something big this season.They are now 4 - 0 after they beat the Knicks.It was easy game for them despite the 0-8 start from their superstar Gilbert Arenas.He find the way to score and he made 6 3-pointers to finish with 26 points on 9-24 shooting.It seems like the Wizards won't gave their court so easy.They were 18 - 27 from the 3pt line which is amazing performance.Randy Foye also scored 26 points but he added 6 rebounds and 8 assists.The big problem for the Knicks were the foules,they led Washington to shoot 40 free throws while NYK shooted only 10.Steve Francis made a nice debut for the Wizards,he scored 15 points and 5 assists.11 of his points were from the FT line.
The other good aspect on the Wizards game is the rebounding,they outrebounded the Knicks 50 to 32.Brendan Haywood grabbed 12,Blatche 8 ,Sean Williams 8 and Randy Foye and Caron Butler both x6.Caron Butler added 21 points.
For the Knicks who also shoot well from the 3pt line(15 three pointers),Chris Duhon made a nice double double from the bench with 29 points and 15 assists.Al Harrington scored 29 too.Rookie Jordan Hill played only 8 minutes and he finished with 9 points,5 rebounds and 3 steals.
