Cleveland Cavaliers - From Start to Finish(4-2)

Postby Spotlight on Thu Mar 12, 2009 2:34 am

My second attempt to make a good association in NBA 2k9. First one was with Warriors, but roster and gameplay were not as great as I expected so I just doesn't get fun with my first one. Now I made my own roster and everything seems to be fine for long and fun association. I'm pretty much sure there wouldn't be any problems for me to finish this one. Ok, it's time to start, get ready for your Cleveland Cavaliers! :cheeky:

Image

Association settings -

Platform - PC
Game - NBA 2k9
Roster - Mega Roster Update v.2.0
Season length - 29 games
Quarter length - 12 minutes
Sim quarter length - 12 minutes
I'm using many patches so don't be surprised if you see something diferent in my game.

Starting five -

C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Image

Information :

Center
HT 7-3, WT 260
From Lithuania
Years pro - 10
Number - 11

Zydrunas Ilgauskas will begin his 11 NBA season in starting lineup. When Big Z is healthy he is one of the greatest centers in the league. With great shot from midrange and wonderful passing ability for big men. Still not very athletic and can be quicker.

PF - Ben Wallace

Image

Information :

Power forward - Center
HT 6-9, WT 240
From Virginia Union
Years pro - 12
Number - 4

Big Ben is one of the greatest defenders in the league. He is strong, confident and ready to stop players like Garnett, Duncan etc. In offense he is pretty much bad, but still can got 25-30 minutes for his great defensive game.

SF - LeBron James

Image

Information :

Small forward
HT 6-8, WT 250
From St. Vincent-St. Mary HS (OH)
Years pro - 5
Number - 23

LeBron James, King James is ready for his sixth season as a Cavalier. Quickly proving as one of the greatest forwards in all time LeBron is working hard this summer with his shot and defensive game to finally win his first MVP. A true leader of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

SG - Delonte West

Image

Information :

Shooting guard - Point guard
HT 6-3, WT 180
From Saint Joseph's
Years pro - 4
Number - 13

Delonte West is probably the most underrated player in the very talanted Cavaliers team. He is great defender with great outside shot and always is ready to hustle and fight in the game.

PG - Maurice Williams

Image

Information :

Point guard
HT 6-1, WT 190
From Alabama
Years pro - 5
Number - 2

The Cavaliers finally got their second offensive choice by adding Mo Williams by 3 team trade with Thunder and Bucks. Player with amazing speed, quickness and with wonderful 3pt shot. Strong in defense as well.

The bench -

Daniel Gibson
Anderson Varejao
Wally Szczerbiak
J.J. Hickson
Aleksandar Pavlovic
Joe Smith
Tarence Kinsey
Darnell Jackson
Eric Snow
Lorenzen Wright

Cleveland Cavaliers will start the new season with home game against the rivals Washington Wizards. Cleveland defeated Wizards last year in the playoffs in 6 games. Series were full with hustle, energy and word wars between Deshawn Stevenson from Wizards and LeBron James from the Cavaliers.

Cavs made it look easy against Wizards

Image

By dominating all evening long Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Washington Wizards and earned their first win in the season(108:88). LeBron James scored 28 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 11 assists. Maurice Williams added 25. Anderson Varejao and Zydrunas Ilgauskas combined for 25 rebounds. The most dificult part in the game was the start of 3rd quarter. Wizards got the lead, but then Delonte West hit back to back threes(both after James assists) and Cavs started a 11-0 run. In final 4 minutes Cavs coach Mike Brown rested his starting five and reserves played pretty good. Gibson scored 9 points and Joe Smith got 7 points and 9 rebounds. Other eastern conference contenders strated poorly, Boston started season with two looses(0-2), but Magic loosed all 4 games(0-4).

Looks great so far. I'll definitely follow. Did you have to create Delonte to get his braids, and Z to get him completely bald?

Cavaliers defeat the Bobcats in close game

Image

Bobcats showed toughness tonight by rebounding from 16 point deficit, but Cavs and LeBron James were just too much for them in the end. Cleveland won the game(104:100). Cavs still made 3 bad turnovers late in game to make things tougher for themselves. LeBron James was brilliant again - 37 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. He got a great help yet again from Mo Williams who supported James with 24 points and 7 assists. Big Ben showed that something is still left in him by scoring 8 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He also have 3 steals and 2 blocks. Raja Bell scored 27 for the Bobcats. Bell made two difficult threes in final 3 minutes to make the game closer.

After easy november(just 2 games), the schedule for Cavaliers aren't great right now. They will now looking to play two games in two days(both on the road). And these games will be against two western conference powerhouses Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.

Marion to Cleveland?

Image

There is no secret that Wally Szczerbiak isn't happy with his role here in Cleveland and will likely be traded soon. Some sources said that Raptors and Cavaliers GM's are talking for a possible trade which would send Shawn Marion and Patrick O'Bryant to Cleveland in exchange for Wally Szczerbiak, Sasha Pavlovic and Lorenzen Wright. One source said that deal is very close to being done and could be finalized tomorrow.

Tough time for the Cavaliers

Image

Last couple of days were pretty much bad for the Cavs. First, Toronto Raptors declined Cavs offer for Shawn Marion and second they lost by 32 in Phoenix against the Suns. It was terrible game for the Cavs and their leader LeBron James. While battling with foul trouble James managed to score only 15 and he had 10(!) turnovers. His team-mates weren't great as well. Only Mo Williams played in his standart level. The Suns just dominating from start to finish and there was no chance for the Cavs to turn things around. Final score 90:122. Amare Stoudamire had a monster game - 23 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists. Steve Nash added 15 points and 11 assists.

Cavaliers aren't much time left for thinking what they did wrong in Phoenix. They are now flying to Denver to face Carmelo Anthony and his Nuggets. This will be second game in two days for the Cavs.

LeBron's triple-double lifts Cavaliers past Nuggets

Image

Sparked by LeBron James all around effort Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back well from loss against Suns. Carmelo Anthony left the game in first quarter when he injured his right shoulder. Nuggets star is expected to miss 1-2 weeks. However the win wasn't easy for the Cavaliers. Nuggets started the game very well and after first quarter they had 11 point lead(32:21). Thanks to struggling Ilgauskas and red hot JR Smith and Chauncey Billups. The second quarter was completely different. LeBron James scored first 10 points in the quarter, then Wally Szczerbiak hit two threes and momentum was on Cavaliers side. They won 2nd quarter by 24 points(40:16). After the break Nuggets started to play better and 1 minute before the end of 4 quarter they finally got a lead. Well, then LeBron James took over. He blocked JR Smith's lay-up and then made a 3 point play. In next possition Nuggets called double team on James and he passed the ball to wide open Ilgauskas who hit a midrange jumpshot and clinched the victory. Final score 118:113. LeBron James scored 44 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 11 assists and recorded another triple-double in his young career. Mo Williams added 20, while Szczerbiak scored 16. Ilgauskas is still struggling he recorded a double double, but made only 5 of his 18 shots. JR Smith scored 35 points for the Nuggets.

LeBron had an amazing game (Y). Good thing you dominated the second quarter, or else you would have lost.

James stays hot, Cavaliers beat the Nets

Image

Cleveland Cavaliers needed another big game from LeBron James to beat their opponent. 43 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals from King James this time and Cavaliers defeated the Nets 111:105. Looks like Cavaliers have some serious problems playing defense from start of the game. They allowed the Nets to score 34 first quarter points while in other quarters Nets managed to score only 22, 25 and 24. They have to play defense from start to finish I they want to be a contender. Coach Mike Brown wasn't happy with his team's performance : ''At this point we are playing bad in defense, we have to got more rebounds, we have to show more hustle in defense. In offense we are looking good, but our D needs a lot improvements.''

Cavs lost Mo and the game

Image

Cavaliers again played with no energy in defense and as a result got their second loss in the season(118:127 on the road against Bulls). To make things even worst Cavaliers also loosed their key player Maurice Williams(bruised hip). He won't be able to play in next game against the Spurs and possibly longer. LeBron James also had an injury(sore knee), but King said it isn't serious. James had another amazing game against the Bulls : 37 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists, but Bulls were just too much for him this time. LeBron James : ''They played like a chempions tonight. Nobody would stop these guys when they are playing so good. Bulls is a great team, a contender.'' Ben Gordon was the leading scorer for the Bulls(31). Maurice Williams scored 34 points for the Cavs, but made only 11 of his 33 shots. J.J Hickson had the best game in his career, he scored 6 points in Cavs second quarter run. Coach Mike Brown was happy about his rookie - ''J.J is great player. He is working hard in the trainings and he has great potencial to be in all-star team one day.''

Next game is against the Spurs(on the road). Cavaliers activated Eric Snow to replace injured Williams.
