Bulls ready for new season

After Bulls finished training this morning Derrick Rose had a moment for a short interview.

R : Derrick it's your first season in the NBA. How do you feel about your team?
DR : Well, we are a good team. I think we can finish in the playoffs this season. Vinnie is great coach although he is rookie. We need some time to build our chemistry and get together.

R : What about Brad Miller and John Salmons ?
DR : So far they are amaizing addition as they help me and other young players to learn new things. John is just a great shooter and Brad is our best center with many experiences.

R : Yesterday you talked to the new GM of Chicago Bulls , what do you think about him ?
DR : We talked a bit about team future and my position on that team. It think he is great person . He told me that he wants to win championship without making bigger moves and trades. He believes in Vinny and coaching staff and is pretty confident we can make the playoffs this year.

Thanks Derrick and good luck

Chicago wins against Run n gun Phoenix to start the season
Bulls open their 43rd season at home with a win

Chicago made many changes last year. Looks like those changes made effect.

Both teams started shy missing many shot attempts. Bulls were leading after first thanks to amazing 1 st quarter from Brad Miller who had 12 points 3 rebounds and 3 blocks in first 9 minutes.
Miller finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds on 9-15 shooting. It was his first game ever for the Bulls. In the second half Tyrus Thomas stepped into the scene. He let Amare Stoudamire score only 14 points on 7-15 shooting.“ We played well defensively tonight. Tyrus and Brad did their job. ” Del Negro said. Shaq and Amare combined for only 21 points.

Rose,20-year old rookie out of Memphis played just 16 minutes because of the foul trouble. He managed to score 17 points and add 4 assists. “ I made some stupid fouls on Steve. I wanted to be aggresive but Steve knows how to draw a foul.” Rose said.

Chicago outplayed Phoenix in second half 40-60.
Thomas was top performer for Chicago with 18 points 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
Hill, who is involved in numerous trade rumors scored team-high 23 points for Phoenix, Nash had 14 assists but had poor shooting night ( 1 -10 FG )
Chicago won 109-90.

Bulls lose after leading 20
Hawes drops career-high 26

Chicago Bulls looked solid their first game of the season. First three quarters against Kings were no difference.
In the middle of the third quarter Bulls led by 20 points (76 : 56) . Kings somehow managed to cut the deficit at the end of third. (87 : 75).
After that it was all Spencer Hawes.

On the beggining of the fourth quarter both teams couldn't score. While Kings got it going , Bulls had no solution inside offensvely and defensively as Spencer Hawes
had 5 blocks and 14 points in the last quarter. He finished the game with career-high 26 points 8 rebounds and 7 blocks . His former teammate Brad Miller had 12 points and 6 rebounds on only 6-16 shooting.
“Spencer was amazing. Wow. Sometimes he was tough on trainings. But never like today. He never played like that in any game. I think we lost that game because we thought we won already. We thought we
are 2-0 , but now we are 1-1 . It was a bad loss but we will get better. ” Miller said.

Rose, was fouled out in the 4th quarter 4 minutes left on the clock with Bulls leading 104-102. “ It was my second game and I did the same thing again. I was too agressive and that time we lost the game. My bad. ”Rose only played 30 minutes in first two games as he was in foul trouble both games. He still managed to score 15 points and add 4 assists.

“ He is a great player. He will be an all-star if he continues to work hard. But he has to become much more intelligent playing defense. Most of his fouls were really unneeded.“ Del Negro said. “As a team we played great 3 quarters. In the last quarter we were individuals not a team. Offensively and defensively. 4th quarter was a nightmare.”

Bulls are now 1-1 and their next opponent is Kobe and the Lakers.

STATS :

BULLS : KINGS

BULLS
Ty. Thomas 20 pts 9 reb
J. Salmons 18 pts 2 ast (7-16 FG)

Yeah, Spencer was just crazy. Brad couldn't do anything.

Lakers had a bad start. They are 1-3 and Vujacic is out with broken ankle (out for a month) and Lamar is averaging only 6 points and 4 rebounds so far.

O'Neal to Chicago?

According to numerous league sources, Bulls and Suns are discussing a deal that would send Shaquille O'Neal, Grant Hill and 2010 first round pick to Chicago for Brad Miller and Kirk Hinrich .
Bulls would add a dominant big man with 2 years left on his contract worth 20 mio $ per season. Hill would be a great backup for Luol Deng with expiring contract. Phoenix would add a backup point guard
for Steve Nash and Miller would be great big man down the stretch. According to sources near Bulls the deal is close to agreement.

Suns and Bulls complete multi-player swap

Bulls aquired Shaquille O'Neal , Grant Hill , Goran Dragić and future first round pick in exchange for Brad MIller, Kirk Hinrich and Antoine Roberson.

“We are extremely happy we added Shaq and Hill. Dragič will be great backup for Rose in the future. He can play great.” Bulls GM said.
“We want to say thanks to Kirk and Brad for everything they did for that franchise and wish them good luck in Phoenix.”

New guys will probably debut for Bulls in two days against Minnesota.

I mean Kirk had too big contract and thats why i involved Brad to clean up cap space for 2010 summer market.. I will have about 20 millions of cap space..so I will have a chance to add a superstar to that team..

Bulls lose

After acquiring Shaq Bulls lost two straight having big problems playing defense.
Shaq debuted with 19 points and 11 rebounds against T'Wolves.
Other addition Grant Hill had 0 points on 0-5 shooting.

Bulls now 4-3 have big problems playing with Shaq as he defensively let Al Jefferson score 37 points.
“ He has to learn our schemes I am comfortable that we will make the playoffs with him.” Del Negro said
“Offensively he is just perfect.”

Al Jefferson had 37 points and 7 rebounds for Wolves.
