NEWS

Press Conference Announcing New GM.

E. Stanley Kroenke:
Hello ladies and gentlemen, today defines a new chapter in the legacy of the Denver Nuggets. As of today a new General Manager will become part of this great franchise, so without further ado, I give you head coach George Karl.

*claps*

Karl:
Thank you, as announced today at the Pepsi Center the GM will be announced. We hope this man can help acquire the talent we need to go deep into the playoffs, or dare i say perhaps even bring a long awaited ring to Denver. Finally I have the honour of introducing this great man!

*Bursts through Nuggets banner*

*claps*

Karl: Gerald Jackson!

Jackson: Thank you, thank you.

Karl: We will now have a question-answer period for Mr.Jackson.

Reporter 1: The question on everyone's mind right now is what kind of change will you bring?

Jackson: Change? What am I a politician? Hahaha, maybe not, but change is something I will bring. Lucian Bryant and I have already begun scouting this years draft class, along with looking at possible free agent signing to fill the final hole in our roster. Furthermore we have been looking at possible trades, however at this point they are nothing more than propects and "what ifs"

Reporter 2: You mention trades, anyone in mind specifically? How about Carmelo and Chauncey?

Jackson: As I said before, at this moment in time trades are just "what ifs" however, I will say that no one on our team is untouchable, but we won't be making a trade just to make a trade.

Reporter 3:How do you see the Nuggets as of right now, rebuilding for the future, up and coming, or ready to contend?

Jackson: A little bit of each. Only time will tell.

Karl: Thank you for your time.

*claps*

TRADES:

Jackson acquires Augustin, Carrol

6 Man Deal, Nuggets Acquire Louis Williams, Mareese Speights, Kareem Rush.

Denver Gets: Image

The Breakdown:
Alright so I know there are gonna be alot of haters on this trade but I'll break it down. First off, I needed a solid PF to come in while Martin is sitting down. This PF is Speights, he is young, versatile, and one day he will be a great starting PF my team. Speights is the main reason I pulled the trigger.

Heres the player ratings:

I Get:
Speights (69)
Williams (67)
Rush: (64)

I Give:
Keliza (68)
Jones (67)
CArroll (66)

-1 in the traded players value vs. the received players total value.

Also this trade makes my team abit younger.

Now go 'head haters hate!

Game 2.

NUGGETS WIN NAIL BITER OVER CLIPS!

The Nuggets rebounded from their disappointing lost to the Jazz in the season opener, however it was no easy task. The Nuggets came out strong in the first, but it would end up being tied 20-20 after 1. In the second and third quarter is where a slight lead was gained by the Clippers, but the Nuggets were determined. Going into the fourth the Nuggets were down 7, but thanks to career nights from both Carmelo and Chauncey the Nuggets would be able to pull through.Eventually it all boil down to seconds. After Cuttino Mobley was fouled and sent to the line with 6.7 to go the score 108-107, Mobley hit both free throws to give his Clippers a 110-107 lead. Coach Karl then called a timeout and drew up a play, "Alright guys this is it, now or never" said Carmelo Anthony after the huddle. The ball was in bounded at half court to Mr.Big Shot himself Chauncey Billups, immediately he pulled up and sank a 3 with 4.7 ticks remaining. The Clippers used there final timeout. The ball was in bounded to Mobley and immediately he was fouled. Again, Mobley stepped up to the line and drained both. 4.7 seconds left, no timeouts remaining J.R Smith threw a hail mary pass to Carmelo at the top of the three point line, Carmelo draind it with 1.3 seconds left to lift Denver to victory!

GAME 3

Kobe drops 39, lifts Lakers past Nuggets!

Despite another MVP performance from Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony, last years MVP and the Lakers were just to sharp. In the affair Kobe dropped 39, and at times looked unstoppable. "It was just a good night, everything seemed to be dropping" said Bryant of his shooting which included going 15-18 from the field and 3-5 from downtown. On the flip side, Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony showed he's for real, having his second 40+ point game this season with 44. In this game George Karl showed the sometimes change isn't always the best thing, Karl started newly acquired DJ Augustine at the point and had Chauncey Billups play the two. To sum it all up, it didn't work. Despite being tied after one quarter, the Lakers took over in the second and third, which saw them riding a 20 point lead into the fourth and despite a late run by the Nuggets they managed to get the W.

IMPACT PLAYER GAME

To keep you guys intrested, I thought of a little game. As you may of noticed in my last post there was an "Impact Player". An Impact Player, is a player who comes off the bench and and makes a good contribution to the game. So starting with the next game, you can post your guesses for who the Impact Players will be for both teams. The scoring will be done on a 2/2 basis (1 point for each correct guess). Hopefully I explained this clear enough, if not feel free to post questions. Have fun!

Game 4.

3rd Times The Charm!

Carmelo Anthony had his third concecutive 40+ point game when he lifeted his Nuggets to victory over the Golden State Warriors. As mentioned Carmelo Anthony had yet another MVP performance, dropping 41 points, grabbing 4 boards, and dishing out 7 assits, to go along with 4 thefts. Yup, Melo sure seemed unstoppabble at times. The Nuggets in general seemed to be on fire, easily taking a 41-21 lead after only one quarter of play, this domaniace continued until late in the fourth when Golden Sate would make a run with Denver starters on the bench. However the final outcome was a pleasent one for Nuggets fans as their team knocked off the Warriors 128-112. "Oh boy, he's been on fire lately, we have just been feeding him the ball and he has been knocking 'em down" said J.R Smith of Carmelo's perfomances. Anthony Morrow and Corey Maggette led the Warriors with 25 and 20 a piece, while Stephen Jackson could not get it going, finishing with only 12 points going 6-15 from the feild. This win now puts the Nuggets over the .500 mark, a mark well earned indeed. The Nuggets will now try to lace a couple wins together when they welcome the Mavs to the Pepsi Center on Wednesday.

Game 5.

Nowitzki, Howard, Kidd, No Match For Anthony, Smith, Billups!

Parker,Ginobli,Duncan - Nowitzki,Howard,Kidd - Garnett,Pierce,Allen and now Carmelo Anthony , J.R Smith and Chauncy Billups. These 3 are being declared the new "big 3" of Denver after they combined for 84 points in Wednesdays win over the Dallas Mavericks. "I think they have finally started to mesh" said Head Coach George Karl of his team's performance. The Nuggets seemed to be rolling on all cylinders, outscoring Dirk and the Mavericks every quarter en route to a 27 point rout. For the fourth game in a row Carmelo Anthony yet again dropped 40+ points, Billups and Smith chipped in for 25 and 18 each. Rookie Cheick Samb, came off the bench with great energey , chipping in for 9 points and grabbing 8 boards, in only 11 minutes of play. Denver has finally managed to win a couple of games in a row, as they advance their record to 3-2. Their streak of a mighty 2 wins will be put on the line when the Nuggets host Memphis.

Behind The Scenes

The Phonecall

An unusally warm day in Denver, George Karl awoketo the ringtone of his Side Kick.

"Hello"? asked Karl groggily
"Hey George, I need you to come down to my office in about an hour alright" It was team owner E. Stanley Kroenke.
"Alright see you then" replied Karl.

George Karl rolled over in his bed and look at the clock,
"Ugh 8:13" he thought to himself.
George Karl gets ready and leaves for the Pepsi Center.

As George walks into the office, he see that Gerald Jackson is already sitting down.

"Have a seat" says team owner Kroenke
"Hello George" says Jackson as he extends his hand,
"Let's talk business" Jackson exclaims.
"Alright, let's get it done" responds Coach Karl grumpily.
"I've worked out a deal, and it's been cleared by Mr.Kroenke and Commisioner Stern, and I'm here to inform you that we have dealt, Linas Kleiza, Dahntay Jones and Matt Carroll to the Sixers for Louis Williams, Mareese Speights, and Kareem Rush.
"Thank God that douche Dahntay is gone" thought Karl.
"Great trade, sad to see Linas go, but bringing in these young guns will definetly help our team" announced Coach Karl excitedly.
"Alright then so we agree, they will be flying in tommorw night and should be ready to go for the Memphis game" said Jackson.

Just as Coach Karl turned around to leave...

"Wait" called Jackson
"Yeah" muttered Karl
"We also filled out our last roster spot" said Jackson
"With who?" Karl asked curiously.
"Patrick Ewing jr, Lucian Bryant and I have been checking him out and his athlethism are amazing" said Jackson
"Alright cool", lets announce it to the media" said Karl as he turned for the door visibly ready to go back to bed.

PeeBO I probably wouldn't have resigned Jones or Kleiza this coming off season. However Speights is young and will only get better, to go along with that i needed a backup PF, and trust me, one day he will become a beast  I liked Louis' game, and Rush is a scrub. BTW Jones Sucks :P
