Rate My Team. Celtics.

Postby DonDavido on Mon Feb 16, 2009 12:17 am

Hey Guys.
I've recently launched NBA 2K9 and I'm currently messin' with Celtics in Association. ;) I was hoping to get some advice from you about my team improvement and so. I've spend some time on trading, but nothing really big and juicy came along, if you don't count few 1st round picks.

My current squad :
PG : R. Rondo [84] / S. Parker [74] / L. Hunter [70]
SG : R. Allen [89] / J. R. Giddens [69]
SF : P. Pierce [92] / J. Kapono [76] / L. Jackson [66]
PF : K. Garnett [99] / B. Scalabrine [65]
C : K. Perkins [76] / S. Pollard [67] / G. Davis [67]
There're also P. O'Bryant and S. Ha but they're out of rotation. ;)

As I said before, I have few 1st round picks. And they are :
09' 1st round pick from Blazers [current record : 7-3]
09' 1st round pick from Grizzlies [current record : 1-13]
09' 1st round pick from Bobcats [current record : 3-6]
09' 1st round pick from Thunder [current record : 1-6]
09' 2nd round pick from Grizzlies.

I'm playing 29 games season, don't have time and needs to play more. ;)

So? What do you think of my team and do you have any suggestions?

Cheers.

Draft is pretty strong. I hope I can get two top10 picks. And yeah, I want to trade Garnett for Howard. I'm not Bron's fan so he have no place in my team. ;) Allen is also set to leave Boston. I'll try to get Iverson (my personal favourite) or maybe Ben Gordon for him.
My plan is to build this team with Rondo as leader.

Thanks for you reply guys.

[edit]

Does anyone have any idea how to make Garnett or Allen leave the Celtics? They're blocking each trade option with they trade-clause, or something like that. I had a pretty good deal with Nuggets and Magic at the same time but Allen blocked that trade. Duh.

Yup, I wanted to get starting line up with Rondo as PG, Iverson at SG and Pierce at SF. Sadly tough, I can't get A.I. from Nuggets. :/

I've done some trades by now.

I've send K.G. and L. Hunter with 1st round pick from Thunder and got D. Howard and R. Jefferson from Magic.
And then I managed to put this one into work : R. Allen + P. O'Bryant + J. Kapono + 1st round pick from Grizzlies for E. Okafor + G. Wallace + 1st round pick in 2010 draft from Bobcats.

So now my team looks like this :
PG : R. Rondo / S. Parker
SG : P. Pierce / J.R. Giddens
SF : G. Wallace / R. Jefferson
PF : E. Okafor / B. Scalabrine / G. Davis
C : D. Howard / K. Perkins / S. Pollard

And I still have two 2009 1st round picks from Bobcats and Blazers. It should work pretty good for me, ain't i?

[update]
I just got trade offer from 76ers. A. Iguodala + W. Green for R. Jefferson. Welcome 'Dre! :D
