LAKERS PRESS CONFERENCE

Dr. Buss: Today we gather here to formally announce one of the winningest coaches in college basketball in his generation, a disciple of the Zen master - former lakers coach Phil Jackson. Let us all welcome "Coach X"

(clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)

Coach X: Gud day to everyone. Thank you. I appreciate the warm welcome. Im so glad that im officially a laker. It's always been my dream to coach a team deep in winning tradition, and in a great organization like the lakers. I'd like to take this chance to thank Doctor Buss, Mitch Kupchak, Magic Johnson, Kareem Adbul-Jabbar, Phil Jackson and the rest of the staff for making me feel like "i belong" and treating me like a brother, like a family. My mission for this team, is to win as many games as possible, and get that precious NBA ring, of course by using the very lethal Triangle Offense. I'd also like to thank the players, for giving me their ideas, where they are comfortable of playing. And to the people of L.A, please keep on supporting the team, i promise to give everything, 110 percent of pure hardwork and showtime, our time is now... thank you

(clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)

Dr. Buss: To the press people, we will give u 10 minutes to ask questions. Ok to the man on the far right, pls

Reporter1: Thanks Dr. Buss, Congratulations to Coach X. I just wanna ask the health of the team, especially bynum and kobe. Anyone can answer. Tnx

Mitch Kupchak: I've just talked to our Special Trainer, Garth Burns, he said that the team is healthy now, bynum's knee is ok, mihm and ariza can play, except for kobe's finger but its just minor injury, he played it through the end of the season, the playoffs, the nba finals and olympics, he is a tough guy. The team is in full battle gear and ready to go. Next reporter pls

Reporter2: About the signing of Juan Navarro, the team gets another guard, i think they're stacked up on that position. Pls comment

Magic Johnson: Ok. Speaking as a guard, i know that these guys run the show. The team lacked the aggresiveness that we needed to finish the dance in the finals, the team lacks a third point guard, and Juan Navarro gives the team another long range shooter that compliments well with kobe and our two best big men. J.C. is a player full of experience coming from Olympics, where they finished 2nd to USA but finished strong, and its very impressive.

Reporter3: How's Coach Phil Jackson?

Mitch Kupchak: He's alright. He's with his long-time girlfriend Jeannie Buss, he needs to have surgery and needs time to heal and full rest. We understand the situation and vice-versa.

Reporter4: As for the signing, do we see some upcoming trades/changes in the team?

Coach X: Right now, i like what the team is showing in training camp, let's see how it results in real games. Im excited in the possibilty of playing bynum, gasol and odom at the same time with the best player in the league and the reigning MVP. We're not saying no trades or deals or whatsoever, but we're very careful and we dont wanna stop the team's chemistry right now, which for me is vital to our success. Next pls

Kobe: Coach, i wanna ask somethin' (smiling)

Coach X: Sure, anytime for the MVP. (smiling)

Kobe: Are ya gonna give me my 4th ring??

(room filled with laughter)

Coach X: YES. Im gonna give you your 4th ring, i'll deliver it personally to your house and wear it on your finger while you're sleeping. (laughing) I promise to give you your 4th, 5th, 6th to the nth ring.

Kobe: Just make sure i have undies on (laughing)

(clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)

Luke: Coach i wanna ask something too (smiling)

Coach X: oh its Mr. Luke Walton over here, ok

Luke: Are you gonna give me more playing time? (laughing)

Coach X: Sure. Im gonna give you all the time, and will not give you rest until you beat kobe's record and score 82pts, you'll be begging for gatorade. (laughing)

(more loud laughs)

Mitch Kupchak: ok guys, 10 minutes up, thank you very much to everyone. We welcome again Coach X. Another round of applause please.

(applause)

Ok, tnx.. As a coach of this team, i am very open to the "people's comments and ideas" I want to make an <Interactive Blog> with the fans, and listen to it. I want the fans to WIN with us. And share with "YOU" whatever success the team makes. Let's see what we can do with the pistons ;)

LAKERS WIN 2ND ROAD GAME 98-84

Detroit, MI - Pau Gasol scored a game-high 28 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks to give the lakers their second straight road win at the expense of the Detroit Pistons. Bryant, Bynum and Radmanovic combined for 47 points as they lead 55-34 at the end of the first half. "Our bench gave us support, we need them to be consistent every game" Said Bryant. The Lakers used their stingy defense and never trailed the entire game. At the press conference Coach X said "Pau really flourished in the triangle offense, he's used to the system now. We are starting this season on a 4-game road trip, we have to be consistent on our defense cause our offense has always been there"

NOTES: The Pistons only played with 9 players. It was the second 20+ point game for kobe bryant.

Yeah, that was a good win for us. Despite of the fact that the pistons are known for their defense, we had them to "taste their own medicine" Tnx and keep supporting us!

Anyways, i was relaxing for a while in my office, analyzing games and making new plays when i saw this NBA Record Book, it gave me quick goosebumps and realized how amazing this game really is. I'll put this in our locker room and try to use it for more motivation.

LAKERS ROUT CELTICS 114-97

Image

Image Image Image

Boston, MA - The most fiercest rivalry in the NBA collided once more to continue with renewed fervor, and when the dust settled, Kobe Bryant and company emerged victorious in their first meeting. Bryant scored 31 points, 5 assists and 4 steals, Gasol and Bynum is "a combined force" with 44 points, 21 boards, and 11 blocks. "It felt like the finals, definitely. There's just too much hype in it" The reigning MVP said. With Kevin Garnett, still nursing from sore neck, scoring only 6 points and 5 boards in 17 minutes the celtics leaned on another superstar Ray Allen, exploding for 37 points and 5 assists on 5/10 3-pt fieldgoals. "I knew i was hot, i got up on the right side of the bed, too bad KG's hurt, but we have to continue playing" Allen said. The Lakers mentor, Coach X pointed out that their defense was still the key to the win, "we held them under 100 points, only sugar ray was there to play"

NOTES: All 5 starters of the LA Lakers scored in double digits, compared to Boston's 3

The Bulls are late in their games, alot of the teams are in 6-7 games, they've played only 4 games yet. So, the quotients' gonna be higher for D-Rose. But in my opinion, i think he's in a good situation to excel and be the main guy. Remember Iverson's rookie year, he led the sixers in scoring also with 26 pts/game (6th in the NBA, coz he's got Jordan, Malone, Shaq over there at the top) and he became the schick rookie of the year. D-Rose is in a team in search for a superstar, a leader, with Kirk Hinrich playing in a very low level.. And in fairness to rose, he also leads the bulls in assists. So no wonder he's the top point guard of the chicago bulls. (Y) ;) Tnx for the comments guys

Here are the Top 7 Outstanding Rookies:

Im having deep thoughts on making these changes, but this is the nature of the business. I just have to choose what's best for us right now and for the future of the team. And im asking for a little help from "YOU" on what you think is best. I would greatly appreciate your ideas before i make my final decision. Here's the list i received from my boss:

This is a great Lakers dynasty...on the trades, i think the memphis would be the better out of them...not the best bcoz i would rather want Ariza to stay and not Antoine walker to be in our team...he sucks.

getting rid of odom is I think for the best of the team... if i were to choose from the proposals, i'd choose Memphis and think of trading walker...cause like Kaiser mentioned, he sucks! hehe

I like the Phoenix deal
The Memphis one is kind of unrealistic, Memphis is rebuilding and won't trade a promising rookie for a veteran
