West's 33, Paul's 30 Carries Hornets to Season Opener Victory

Image

Image

FILE PHOTO: Chris Paul and David West does their dirty job as the Hornets beat the Kings at Opening Night 83-93 to go 1-0.

The Hornets had a good night, but it was supposed to turn from a Dream to a Nightmare. The Hornets led majoirity of the game, from 1st to the 3rd quarter, but come the 2 minute mark of the final frame, the Kings went on a 12-0 run to cut the deficit to 1, 76-77, as West was missing shots, Paul being blocked, and with Sacramento stealing everytime the Hornets make a pass - how cute. It was 61-77 lead during the 6:07 mark of the 4th quarter, when suddenly things began to change, Kevin Martin made a three, then quickly stole the ball from an inbound pass en route to a made dunk by Ron Artest, then the next possession saw a huge 4 point play completed courtesy of Brad Miller, New Orleans played slugglish within that timezone. Up by only 76-77, David West angrily asked CP3 to carry the ball from inbounds til the court, soaring high for a dunk, then the Hornets played a Double Team tactic, resulting to a made 3 courtesy of Peja Stojakovic, since then, the Hornets were safe, with Tyson Chandler grabbing tons of offensive caroms, til then The Kings began fouling. A.Johnson led the Kings with 22 points and 8 assists, while Shareef Abdur-Rahim racked up 15 rebounds. David West led all scorers with 33, he also grabbed 7 rebounds, while CP3 did not disappoint, scoring 30 points and dishing 8 assists.Chandler also scored 16 points and had 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

NOTE: Only 6 Hornet Players have scored in the game, Paul [30], West [33], Chandler [16], Peterson [4], Posey [4] and Stojakovic [6]

The Hornets have recorded 12 steals, and an amazing few 4 turnovers, they also shot 54% from the floor.

New Orleans looks to meet up with Portland at their next outing.

The pictures are different sizes, and look bad stacked like that and not side to side. The headline is too small and doesn't catch the eye. There is no rich text, side of the headline.

That being said, this is better than a lot of dynasties these days, and the effort is there. If you clean your recap up a bit, this could be a good one. Best of luck. (Y)

Dwight Howard New Orleans Bound

Image

Dwight Howard, who's featured with new teammate Chris Paul, will make some noise as they now have a nucleus of West-Howard-Paul.

The New Orleans Hornets have acquired All-Star Superstar C/PF Dwight Howard and F Pat Garrity from the Magic in exchange of C Tyson Chandler, Marcus Vinicius, and Cedric Simmons, it was announced today by newly named Hornet GM Flubz. Magic was reportedly interested in Chandler, as there were off-the-court issues between Dwight and Coach Stan Van Gundy, which led to the roots of the trade. "I definitely think this was a good steal by the Hornets." words coming out from All-Star Foward Celtic Paul Pierce. Dwight is expected to dress up with the Hornets tonight as they face off against Portland.

Loving the recap style still! The Dwight Howard automatically gives you the best team now and in the future. The downer is how unrealistic it is (what is his overall in your game? In CP3 and Howard you have 2 of the league's Top 5 players) trading a very solid Center and a couple of scrubs for the best big man in the NBA (at 22).

Nevertheless, you have a spectacular team, and it looks pretty. I'll stick around. Its way better than most dynasties here still.

Thanks kaiser, Lamrock and Peebo, appreciate it

Well, Lamrock, Chandler is 80, Vinicius is 68, and Cedric Simmons is 61, for Howard [83] and Garrity [61] def a steal, lol.

You might notice majority of this week will be just quickcaps, but Ill try my best to do two full recaps of games, im doing one right now.

BTW, I just simmed my next match [NOH @ POR] in which I won 74-107, I cant find any details, mainly because the PSP version lacks some features, like the opportunity to see stats from a simmed game.

I'll be back in 30 minutes for the result of my next match: SAS @ NOH. Again, thanks for the support. :)

Peja Steps up as Hornets defeat the Spurs

Image

Peja scored 22 Points as New Orleans beats San Antonio in a Texas-filled match.

The trio just got help - courtesy of Peja Stojakovic. When it comes to the end, all effors were appreciated, as New Orleans cruised to Victory Lane over San Antonio 76-102 to improve to a 7-0 record. Stojakovic scored 22 Points, to go along with 2 Rebounds, and making some baskets to get the gap up to huge numbers. Dwight Howard didnt disappoint, scoring 25 Points, Grabbing 8 Caroms and shot 12/20 from the floor, Chris Paul added 23 Points to go along with 3 Rebounds and 12 Assists with an outstanding 9 steals., and meanwhile, the Captain, David West, proved to have another solid game, having 26 Points, with 9 Rebounds, an assist and a block. "I was really happy with the game," Coach Byron Scott said, "It was a team effort, I love it how the guys shared and got fire from the field."

The Spurs played without their All-Star Tim Duncan, whose nursing an injury. Manu Ginobili led the way scoring 32, followed by Parker's 28, though it still isnt enough. The Hornets will now fly to Philadelphia as they face them off as their next opponent.

Hornets Survives in OT

Image

Peja's late game heroics and the Big Three's firepower was enough to get the win on the road.

The New Orleans Hornets survived a close one, beating New Jersey 115-108, in Overtime. It seems all of the five guys did their dirty job, as Chris Paul had 34 Points, which he scored 19 in the first marker. He also finished with 4 rebounds and 11 assists. Meanwhile, Dwight Howard had a beasty night, scoring 26 Points and 5 Boards en route to a 12/12 FG, David West also had 30, to go with 6 caroms. The game was supposedly gonna be a blowout in favor of Awlins, but due to careless turnovers, missed shots, and Vince Carter scoring, they got outnumbered in the 3rd Quarter til the 4th. Vince Carter scored an incredible 53 Points til he ran out of fuel. When New Jersey took the driver's seat, 85-86, Stojakovic quickly made a 3, but then Devin Harris responded, yet Peja answered back with another. Game was tied at 95 apiece with 1.1 seconds left, but Chris Paul missed a potential game winning fadeaway. Dwight Howard won the tap, and Awlins went on a 6-1 run, but still NJN didnt gave up and came back, and eveb took the lead with 2:10 left, but Peja's late game heroics was enough to carry the Hornets to a 8-0 record, scoring 19, in which, all were scored in the 4th and in OT, he also blocked Vince Carter on a possesion that gave them the ball with 1.1 ticks left in the 4th. Morris Peterson also had 4 Points and 8 Rebounds.

Ray Allen Headed to New Orleans

Image

The Hornets have acquired the Sharpshooter All-Star Ray Allen Sunday Afternoon, Making it's Second Blockbuster in the span of Two Weeks.

The Hornets continues to wheel and deal, this time acquiring All-Star Guard Ray Allen from the Boston Celtics in exchange of Morris Peterson, James Posey, and Bonzi Wells, it was announced today. New Orleans practically plays 5-6 players a game, so this move definitely solves lack of PT complaints from the 3 guys. "I havent receieved much attention." James Posey said, "They jsut ignore me, they only praise me when I make a basket or make a defensive stop." Morris Peterson was also joining Posey's pleed, "I'm definitely happy to get out of New Orleans, it was a fun city, having to play with fun teammates, and a great coach, but still, i want more time to showcase my talent, and that's to ball." The Move added 500k in the Hornets' Cap, which is standing at -1.4M right now. "We look to win, we were winning without Ray, now that he's here, im defenitely expecting more W's." Captain Chris Paul Said.

Why does New Orleans do this? They trade their undefeated rotation for an aging star, despite already being a shoe-in for the title. Why does Boston do this? They are the champs and trade part of their big three for a bunch of average shooters.

I sense boredom.

Which leads to the fact that the trade is fair?

Anyways I wasnt able to play my benchies, I only play 'em if someone gets in a foul trouble situation, or someone injures himself, but still you never know if i traded for Ray to keep him or the main purpose is to trade him with Peja for a better superstar. ;)

Thanks for the thoughts, though :)

V.C Headed Awlins

Image

Despite critics saying Awlins needs to calm down trading, The Hornets made a deal today, acquiring All-Star Guard/Forward Vince Carter from New Jersey.

New Orleans, yet another time, traded for an old veteran, but this time, it didnt cost them much, The Hornets today, traded Peja Stojakovic with Rasual Butler, to the New Jersey Nets, for Vince Carter and Big Man Mile Ilic, it was happily confirmed via an E-Mail by league sources. Most likely, Chris Paul is still the first option, with Dwight being the second, West being the third, Vince being that fourth and Ray-Ray, who was the first option few years ago in Seattle, being the fifth. "Im not saddened at all." Ray Allen said, "In fact, my team's chances of winning still strengthens, and I would glady continue what im working - to continue contributing to the basketball team."

The Hornets' Roster currently stands at 8 players.

GM Note: All games will be simmed thruout the remaining of November til January, and will continue to progress til the All-Star weekend. giving us LIVE coverage.

Its not even that good of a dynasty to start with, but then you unrealistically load the team with all-stars, making it even more of a bore.
