Darius Miles failed to impress this time
Young Bulls take down the Clippers
Chicago, IL
The LA Clippers will remember for some time their third game of the 2008/2009 season. Despite the lost, the team travel to Chicago was horrible, as the Clippers' plane wasn't allowed to land in Chicago due to a storm. Because of that the team traveled 80 miles with a bus from the nearest available airport to the Windy City.
After a disastrous second half, and actually fourth quarter, the Clippers suffered their second consecutive loss. The young and talented Bulls turned things around after going into a zone defense which kinda disrupted LA's offensive game.
Also the players who came off the bench made the difference. Chicago's reserves outscored Clippers' 34-11.
Aaron Gray was perfect with 9 points (4-4 FG), 6 boards and 1 block. Tyrus Thomas added 10.
The #1 overall draft pick, Derrick Rose, who came out of Memphis had a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists. Ben Gordon scored 16 points, and Luol Deng finished with only 5, but all of them in the last 2 minutes of the game.
For LA Al Thornton continues to impress. The sophomore notched in 20 points along with 5 assists, 4 boards and 3 steals.
Baron Davis, the newly acquired star of the team finished with 14 points and 11 dimes, along with Chris Kaman who also had a double-double - 16 points and 15 boards.
After the game Alexander Sotirov, the GM of the LA Clippers was pretty disappointed
"That's definitely not the style with which we will go into the playoffs. The game was pretty even most of the time, but in the end we were totally outplayed after they went into that zone defense. That's something we have to work on in practice."
