I hate these spam posts. Shut the fuck up, posts like this are useless. This isn't the patching forum. Post something worthwhile or don't even post. And also, "nice job"... I hate when people post that even though the person hasn't even started.

Interesting choice, the Sixers. Too bad players don't opt out in Live, and you can't get Brand. Good luck keeping this up. The Sixers are as pretty boring team.

Thanks ratrac. I'll try my best. And yeah you might be right about that, let's see if I change the roster layout...

Haha lamrock... The Sixers are pretty boring but at least that gives me something to work with.

The Sixers were headed out strong... Or at least they thought so. Fact is, it seems they didn't have all the pieces to go all the way.
pIt all started with a devastating opening night. Despite a steady lead during the first half, they couldn't manage to stay on float. When the game ended, the 76ers had lost to the Pheonix Suns by 21 points.
There were, yes, some happy moments for the team during the season. For example, a 5 game winning streak or maybe even their All-Star weekend invitees. But it all went downhill from there...

Team Invitees:

-------------------------------------

The Rookie Challenge
Thaddeus Young defied all odds and became the Player of the Game of this year's All-Star Rookie Challenge.

Slam Dunk Contest:
Carney also defied all odds by proving that he was the king of the kings of dunking in the NBA. He stepped onto the court and showed us some emphatic slam dunks!

Image

-------------------------------------

Not A Happy Ending!

When the end of the season came, the 76ers's hopes of flying high were totally ruined. The team ended with the second worst record in its conference and 34th in the entire league. Expect some changes to be made for this franchise. Maybe some big changes...

The Playoffs:

These playoffs were full of excitement, glory, resentment, and, oh yeah, sweeps. These playoffs will be remembered forever. The Boston Celtics completed a great turnaround that, while not breaking any records or achieving the biggest one in history, led them directly to an NBA Finals series that will be remembered for years to come. During this article, we will point out some of the highlights from these playoffs.
1. Sweeps and near-sweeps that earned these playoffs a special name: The SweepFest, as fans liked to call it. There seemed to be an invasion of sweeps, as 5 of the series ended 4-0, while 3 more ended 4-1. There were only three seven-game series, and four six-game series! Sweeps composed more than half of the entire playoffs!
2. The surprising Clippers! After a losing record last season, the Clippers rose to the occasion this season, landing the fourth berth in the playoffs this season. Unfortunately for them, they were swept by the Spurs in the first round.
3. Toronto fought until the end. Even though they lost their first round series to the second place Celtics in 6 games, the Raptors fought like never before. Down by 3-0 during the first three games, the Raptors played their best the next two games in order to extend the series to a sixth game. The Celtics massacred them in that game.
4. Dallas, Dallas, Dallas! The Mavericks went through some tough times throughout these playoffs. Even though they beat the Rockets during the first round in just five games, the rest of their series all came down to a game 7. They managed to sneak out of San Antonio, and out of Pheonix in order to make it to the Finals once again, but another game 7 awaited them there too. The strength and determination of the Mavericks in order to get to the Finals once again after 2006, when they lost the the Heat in 6, will be remembered forever. In fact, the Dallas Mavericks made an appearance in all of the seven game series in the playoffs.
5. The Finals! Because of their extreme excitement and suspense, the Finals series earned itself our yearly Series of the Playoffs!

The NBA Finals
This year's NBA Finals were spectacular. The Mavericks made it once again after two tiring series, while the Celtics came freshly off of a six game series and a great comeback. Down 2-0 to the Heat, the Celtics made a comback to win the series in 6. During the first two games of the Finals, the Celtics won by close margins of 8 and 9. In Game three, the Mavericks saw what was going on and went in to win. Game four proved to be a critical game. If the Celtics won, they would be up 3-2. If the Mavericks won, the series would be tied. Just as the Celtics seemed to grasp the win, up by 8, the Mavericks made an 8-0 run to tie the game with seconds remaining. Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics put up a two pointer that seemed to go in... But didn't. Overtime became a slaughter from the Mavericks, as the next game proved to be as well. Up 3-2, the Mavericks were prepared to win at Boston. But it didn't happen. The Celtics won in a nail-biter that took the series back to Dallas. In a game seven that will long be remembered, three things happened: The Celtics made another great comeback, the Mavericks lost another Finals in three years, and, oh yeah, the Celtics won their first Championship in 22 years. It seems there is a new Celtics dynasty in site, one that does not go by the name of Larry Bird, or Bill Russell, but by the name of "The Dynamic Duo". "I sure would've hoped that we could be called the Big Three when we won the Championship, but I guess not all dreams can come true", said Finals MVP Kevin Garnett referring to the trade deal during the season that sent Paul Pierce to the Hawks.

The Dynamic Duo celebrates after winning the team's 17th title.

Finals MVP: Kevin Garnett (23.8 PPG)
Team Record: 49-33
Playoffs Record: 16-8
Team List:

K. Garnett
J. Johnson (traded for)
R. Allen

Decent recap of the season. You did reasonably well with pictures for having a console. Hate the Collins/Williams trade, but love the Stuckey/Randolph trade.

Good luck with the regular season, man. I'll be following.

Thanks lamrock. Yeah the pictures are pretty bad quality but my camera is getting fixed so until it gets home I'm using a video camara. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback Chaser. I'll be coming up with some trade ideas possibly involving Andre during the offseason... I already have one planned and if it works out it could be a nice move.

Special Coverage

Sixers dodge bad luck, other's don't.
May 20, 2008.
John Stockter.

The 76ers escaped some pretty bad luck today during the draft lottery. Even though the Sixers had greater chances of landing the seventh pick in the draft, which could've potentially hurt the team's chances of a winning season next year, they landed another pick. Yes, that's right ladies and gentlemen, the 76ers have stolen the first pick!

President and GM Ed Stefanski couldn't be happier. "Sorry for the guys over at Portland, who lost their first pick and landed the fourth one, but man this is just great. This is my personal promise to all of our fans out there... I won't let you down!". Well, we'll find out soon enough.

Draft expert Stuart Lone has told CBS Sports that this draft is extremely strong and important, something that doesn't take anyone too much to figure out. He expects some out of the ordinary draft picks, as well as a lot of potential from the soon-to-be rookies. "The only luck that the Seventy Sixers still need is just a winning season, and I think that not even the strongest draft, luck, and staff put together could ever get this team a playoff berth without AI (Allen Iverson). Sorry Ed [Snider]!".

Team owner Ed Snider participated in a press conference today in which he specifically said that his team's luck would not change anytime soon..

Honestly, we at CBS Sports think that it's gonna take much more than just mere luck to make this team good again. If I were Snider, I wouldn't just wait for luck to take over. Today was a lottery, yes. But the rest is not.

Keep following our NBA Offseason Coverage. We will be covering draft prospects, the draft, retirements, re-signings, trades, staff hirings, and, yes, the Sixers.

Thanks everyone for following and commenting. I'll be improving my pictures in a few days when I get my good camera back (long story). I had some plans for the team but with this first pick I think the whole thing changed. Would've never expected it but it happened so now I have the first pick in a "very strong" draft haha. That still doesn't mean I'm letting the team lean on my pick, I'm still gonna make some pretty big changes. Keep following and commenting! Updates coming soon!

Yeah. This is so weird and to tell you the truth I thought about even starting a new dynasty when I saw those lottery results but oh well I need all the help I can get to improve the team so I just went with it. I'll be posting draft prospect info soon.

Two likely prospects, only one pick.
Lue Dickenson.
Jun. 25, 2008.

It seems that with luck comes confusion and tension. And much confusion and tension there has been this week as teams finish evaluating their potential draft picks. "This draft is so big that teams are full of themselves trying to make out who they will pick", says Avery Johnson, former coach of the Dallas Mavericks who is now on the free market and taking a break from work.

Out of all the teams under tough problems, not one can beat the 76ers. They've got the first pick, so they've got the power. Not only do they decide who goes with them, but in this type of draft they also decide how the other teams will pick. Now we have, two guys who are just as good and just as young. Both are 19 years old and have played two years in college. Duke University's 7'0" D. Rutherford, is a promising center that's been under close watch by Philadelphia, and by many of the top teams in the draft. He led his team two seasons in points, rebounds, and blocks. "The guy's athletic, smart, talented, big, and strong. There's no doubt for why he's been considered the best guy in the draft", says 76ers GM Ed Stefanski. During his college basketball career, he averaged 23.6 PPG, while catching an average of 11 rebounds per game and blocking 5 shots per game. Add the fact that he's determined and has got very good B-Ball IQ and you've got a very good prospect.

But there's another guy who's being watched. 6'4" Theodore "Teddy" Buck has been playing for two years as shooting guard for Georgetown and has a very good future ahead of him. He led his team directly to a championship last season, averaging 26 PPG and demonstrating an impressive 56% shooting percentage from beyond the three point line. "I'm very excited to be looked upon by so many teams. Some people say I've got a bit of an attitude problem... That I'm too much of a show off. Well, who cares? The goal is to win", says Teddy.

A lot of teams have much work two do in the upcoming two days before the draft, but the 76ers have even more. It us up to them to decide who they want.

Note to readers: Please comment on who you think the 76ers should pick. We would love to hear from you.

Shocking news in Philly tonight.
Jun. 25, 2008.

Press Conference Exclusive

76ers Owner Ed Snider:

-Hello everyone. I would like to say first that I will not be taking any questions tonight. Please just listen. After much time and consideration, the front office of our franchise has decided that change is in the air and our draft pick will come with it. Nevertheless, roster changes and all aren't the only thing that improves a team. Part of a team's success is owed in part by the staff of said franchise. Yes, the coach does a lot, and so do their assistants. Everyone contributes significantly. Still, there is one position that could never be taken for granted. Our General Manager Ed Stefanski is a very good man that has been of great help to our team. Without this man, it is possible that we would still be in the corners of doom. But because of this man, we are not. With all the respect we have for him, there has been made a decision that I would like to announce to all of you tonight. Ed will not be deciding who our pick will be. Sadly, he has resigned from our team under advice from me and Vice-President Larry Brown. Taking Ed Stefanski's place as Executive President is Larry. Since the draft is coming up tomorrow night, both our coaching and administrative staff have been studying all draft prospects, and have made a preliminary decision. We are confident that we will make the right decision. Replacing Ed Stefanski as GM and occupying the position of Vice-President is Dennis Lindsey. This young man had been working for the Houston Rockets for 11 years before going to the Spurs as Assistant GM. He brings a whole new mindset, and a completely new idea of how this time should be perceived. With him comes a whole new staff of Assistant General Managers and such. He has been studying this draft's prospects since before he was called for the job, but he will be talking to the team staff and players to make a final decision. He's just going to give all of you a brief statement and we're off. A lot of work to do tonight! Goodnight!

Dennis Lindsey
-Good evening everybody. I can't say how proud I am to be serving this franchise. I have a lot of changes in mind, and it all starts with our backup players. We can't play if we've got no depth. So I'll be working with both starters and bench players alike to form a true team. To tell all of you guys the truth, I have no idea who I'm going to pick for the draft, but tomorrow night you can rest assured that I will know who to pick. The first round isn't the only round, there's also a second round that needs to be taken advantage of. We will certainly draft two amazing kids that will play better than any other. Let's leave it at that boys. Goodnight.

Image
Lindsey's arrival at Philadelphia might arouse some criticism, but ultimately it was an inevitable decision.
The 76ers were going to have to replace their GM at some point, and Dennis seems like a good replacement. Time will tell.

Automatic change for the 76ers.
Jesse McLanders.
Jun. 26, 2008.

Directly from Kevin Ollie's home in Florida, he has announced in a live voice tape that he is to retire during this offseason. He has declined to comment on the matter. Ollie's agency and the 76ers front office contacted ESPN this morning, in order to transmit the announcement during our morning SportsCenter. This announcement doesn't come as much of a shock. He's 36 years old, and his contract with the 76ers expires this year. Ollie probably wouldn't sign for more than 1 year with any team, and the 76ers weren't likely to re-sign him anyways.

"Best of luck to the Sixers, and I hope you win next season [chuckles]. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity of playing for your team and thanks to all the fans and teammates.", says Ollie.

Tune in tonight at 8 PM EST on ESPN for a first row look at the 2008 NBA Draft.
