Admiral, Kerr Comes out of Retirement in hope of another Ring
Hall of Famer David Robinson and 5 time NBA Champion Steve Kerr had announced earlier today that they would be returning to the NBA, or more specifically, the Defending champion San Antonio Spurs.
"its great to be back here in San Antonio, back with the guys, hopefully we can help the team defend the championship" said Robinson and Kerr at the press conference.
The Spurs would pay Robinson 8 million dollars on a 2 year contract while Kerr would receive approx 5 million for the same amount of time.
Gregg Popovich said that he was delighted to have the two back and said he expects some great things from them.
One other factor in this move was that Kerr had temporary resigned his job as GM with the Suns, and Mike D'Antoni would take over for the meanwhile, until Kerr decides he would step off the court once again.

Kerr and Robinson are both 42 going on 43 this season, and big questions wait for the two as to whether they can still play the game, after a long absence; but after a practice shortly after the press conference, Head Coach Gregg Popovich calmly told the press that "they are doing fine"

Spurs GM Buford Fired, unknown guy with nickname Rustyduck Takes over

The San Antonio Spurs have announced today that they have fired GM Buford and had hired an unknown, going along with the nickname rustyduck.
The move had came sudden as the spurs were the champs of 2007, beating Lebron James and teh Cavs for the nba title; however, Spurs owner Peter Holt said that "it was time for a change"
the unknown Rustyduck would attempt to prove himself as a GM by trying to defend the nba title, something that has never been done by the spurs.

"i think we have a good chance of getting our first ever back to back title this year, we have a great team, and with the return of Kerr and Robinson, we can make it" said duck at the press conference

Wow, this is nice. I like dynasties, where a veteran is brought in. Like Andrew with Kemp and Leander with Ewing.

Good luck!

Firing Buford...booo.....I know its not real but its still a distasteful subject. I hope the main things you reduced on Kerr and Robinson returning were athleticism related and maybe a little bit on shooting.

I love how people are selling unretired players as a unique features, even though at this point nearly half the dynasties are doing it now.

I am not a Spurs fan, but even if I were, I doubt I would consider following this. The Rustyduck thing is just dumb, and the recaps are subpar.

Good luck.

Spurs Puts new Staff into test in training camp

The San Antonio Spurs have hired new staff at the various positions, with their new GM becoming the Assistant Head Coach, R.McDonald as Scout, V.Dominguez being the new trainer, and there would be now 2 assistants, Francisco da Costa, and J.Rodriguez. Each of the staff members have said that they were "pleased to be part of the Spurs Organization" and that they "would do the best they can to make the team better"
Peter Holt, the team owner, said he was happy at the new staff and that he has great hopes for them to help the team get another championship

The preseason training camp has just ended, and there are questions raised about how the newly staffed Spurs have done in the week, especially with the two 42 year old veterans, steve kerr and david robinson. Gregg Popovich, in the recent press conference, had stated that the team is doing great with the newly hired staff, and stated that there had been dramatic improvements in the team's offensive end and the team's athleticism, which was great. he had stated that the newly signed Kerr still had not lost his shooting touch, but needed to work on his stamina as he gets tired easily, while david robinson, was not shooting as he use to, but still has that presence down low, same as Kerr, he could not run for very long. "I think that they have not forgotten the game, its just their physical status were not what they used to be, and they just need to get back into shape, other then that, i think they are going to have an impact on the team" said Popovich.

The Spurs would have their season opener on the 30th of October, against the Portland Trailblazers.

well, i fired the gm cause in the dynasty, the player is the new gm, so...yeah
with Kerr and Robinson, i reduced kerr's speed, jumping, quickness, stamina, toughness, strength ratings, but kept his shooting cause in real life, he plays pickup games, so ( i assume) he hasnt forgotten how to shoot. With Robinson, i reduced his dunk, all the ones i reduced for kerr, and also his 3 point shooting

Spurs open Season playing like Phoenix
The defending champions San Antonio Spurs won their first game against the blazers with a 14 point difference, but they didnt look like the defensive spurs, infact, they look more like the Phoenix Suns, as they went with a run and gun style that eventually led to a 158-144 victory.
The Spurs had a bad first quarter, getting outscored 40-28 by Portland, after a timeout by Gregg Popovich, they got themselves together and went on a 18-0 run at the start of the 2nd. outscoring Portland 45-26, both teams went on a rampage with scoring, and in the third they had scored 40, 39 respectively. the spurs ended the game in the 4th with a 46-38 performance.
despite the win, Gregg Popovich was not happy, as almost no defense was shown, except from Tim Duncan. "I am not happy with their defense, i don't want them to go run and gun, and i do not want the other team to score 144 points." said Popovich after the game.
Blake and Roy led Portland with 49 and 39 points respectively, while Frye and Aldridge got themselves 12 boards each, but it was not enough, as Tim Duncan had a monster game, 33 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks in 36 minutes.
Other Spurs played well offensively, with 8 of them getting double digits scoring. Bruce Bowen had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Manu got himself 21 points, 5 reb and assists, and Parker getting 17 and 6. Kurt Thomas also had a good game with 12 and 10.
The Admiral had 14 points, 3 rebounds, and a block in 22 minutes, as he made 6 of 7 field goals. "I'm getting myself back with the speed of the game, i think next game i would be able to make more contributions on the defensive end" said Robinson; Steve Kerr on the other hand, had a great game, with 20 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and even a block to go with it, in 23 minutes. he didnt shoot very well, getting 8/23 field goals and 2/12 3 points, but Duncan's Rebounds made up for it. "I think i just need to adjust myself back along with the pace of the game, getting a quicker release and being more intense" said Kerr after the game.
The Spurs shot 53% from the field and just 26% from 3 point, but they were 73% from the line, getting 16/22.

Their next game is on the 31st, with the Memphis Grizzles.

P.S. If anyone has any good slider suggestions to not get so many points for nba live 08, please tell me, it could be my aggressive playing style, but any suggestions would be nice, thanks.
