New Orleans Hornets Dynasty

Postby droptopflopmop on Mon May 26, 2008 1:29 pm

Well, hello folks, this is my first shot at a dynasty, thought I would give it a go with the Hornets. My goal in this dynasty is to make some roster changes and acquire a solid team, not necessarily a team with all superstars, but one that works well together and is also fairly young. That is one reason I chose the Hornets for this dynasty. First off, I will be using NBA Live 08 (eh) on Superstar, playing every game myself. I have already played one game and signed one player (I will catch you guys up on that later), and of course, I will be playing 12 minute games, starting in the 07-08 season. I think that's all for the basics. (Oh, and sorry for the lack of pics on this first game). Also-I will have updates often, as my free time has become increasingly large now that I'm done with school.

Let's get up to date: 2 days into the season, the Hornets wanted to start off with a roster change, and did so, by immediately signing Matt Barnes from Free Agency. In the first game of the season, the Hornets defeated the Kings in a close battle, overcoming with some big shots to win 119-107.

Let's take a look at the starters (as well as some of the coaches comments):
 Tyson Chandler: The starting center, a six year pro, with an overall 80. He is great on the boards, blocks, and has a great defensive awareness.

 David West: The starting power forward, West is a 4 year pro, with an overall of 72. his strong points include free throws, defensive rebounds, and he is very built.

 Matt Barnes: Recently added to the roster, Barnes is a 4 year pro, with an overall of 75. He is a good shooter, has a strong offensive awareness, and gets down the floor quickly with his good speed.

 Peja Stojakovic: One of the teams veterans, Stojakovic is a 9 year pro, with an overall of 82. He is a great shooter, shoots well from the free-throw line, and has a great offensive awareness.

 Chris Paul: The young star to the Hornets, Paul is a 2 year pro, with an overall of 86 and great potential. He opens up the floor with his great passing, awareness, and great speed.

On the bench
B. Jackson, a 10 year pro, with a 74 overall. Jackson has a good free-throw shooting ability, as well as awareness and speed that opens the floor.

M. Peterson, a 7 year pro, comes off the bench with great experience and a overall 73. his high points include free-throws, offensive awareness, and his fantastic three-point shooting ability.

M. Vinicius, is a fresh face to the Hornets squad, with an overall of 68. He is a free-throw shooter, and shows good speed and hardiness.

J. Pargo, a 5 year pro, with an overall of 67, has a great shooting ability, and tops it off with his free-throw ability and his good passing skills.

R. Butler, another 5 year pro, with an overall of 69, is dangerous from behind the three-point range, and shows great speed as well.

H. Armstrong is a rookie with an overall of 63. There are no coach comments on this player.

C. Simmons is a rookie with an overall of 61. There are no coach comments on this player.

As I said earlier, I am looking for a strong team, with good team chemistry. This requires trades and roster changes. Here are the players up for possible trading: J. Pargo (PG with an overall 67), M. Vinicius (PG with an overall 68), and M. Peterson (an SF with an overall 73). Questionable players for trade right now include Matt Barnes and David West, however, at this time, these players will be staying with the team to allow possible growth with the team. These players positions on the team will be decided at a later time.

Now, the Hornets have looked around at the trading market early this season, and here are the players we are interested in:
Atlanta: J. Smith (SF-Ovrl:81)
Charlotte: R. Felton (PG-Ovrl:74)
Chicago: K. Hinrich (PG-Ovrl:81) C. Duhon (PG-Ovrl:69)
Dallas: J. Howard (SF-Ovrl:86)
Denver: C. Anthony (SF-Ovrl:86)
Detroit: T. Prince (SF-Ovrl:80) R. Murray (PG-Ovrl:69)
Houston: M. James (PG-Ovrl:74)
Indiana: J. Tinsley (PG-Ovrl:73)
Minnesota: R. Gomes (SF-Ovrl:68)
Orlando: J. Nelson (PG-Ovrl:75)
Philadelphia: A. Iguodala (SF-Ovrl:85)
Phoenix: A. Tucker (SF-Ovrl:86)
San Antonio: T. Parker (PG-Ovrl:82)
Toronto: T. Ford (PG-Ovrl:77)

Alright guys, sorry for the lack of pic's on the start here, but I will have more as we get going. There's an introduction for ya, please leave feedback, if I need to do something specifically to make things better, please let me know (like I said-my first dynasty thread). Thanks guys.
