well let's bring you up to date, iam a knicks fan and since live 95 have always done a knicks season. But this past year ive been straying towards over teams mainly because the knicks suck and i dont really like the players...... fuck it !! you miss 8 straight 3's with Houston and you just want to kill yourself well anyway, ive sacked Scott Layden and put myself in the gm's seat and iam going to put right what i think needs doing.

first up....

the league, ive used nbadraft.net mock draft and created the top 20 rookies and placed them where nbadraft.net has them i.e L.James = cavs and so on.... also ive retired M.J and David Robinson

my settings, Gameplay settings - simulation , superstar , 12 min , injuries/ yes , fatigue/ yes , cpu assistance/ yes , shot control / user
Rules - defensive fouls / 3 up from default , offensive fouls / 1 down

first move ive made is trade for a big man, using my mock draft rookie Anderson Varejao and Charlie Ward i traded them to Seattle for Jerome James and mock rookie Kirk Hinrich.

Before i go on ive got to say that i stole Leander's idea with rolling the dise to see who's injured.

as a result Lee Nailon's out for 5 games

First game, vs wizard's at the Garden. Game to forget about, way to many turnovers as i tryed to find the best set plays that works with my team. Wizards shot 43% - Knicks 39% couldnt get it going with Houston 7 of 25!! for 17 point , a cause of to little to late as he scored 9 in the last 2 minutes. Spree kept the game close with 23 points , McDyess was also solid game with a double double of 11 and 12 but i was most pleased with Jerome James he did want i wanted him to do 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Anyway bad start to the season, Final score wizards 91 - knicks 89 ( spree missed at the buzzer ) .......next game Boston at the fleet centre.

thinking of trading for Damon Stoudamire, what do you think? it would be for Eisley and Kirk Hinrich or Eisley and Harrington

I don't know why but Charlie Ward and Clarence Weatherspoon suck in EVERY Live-version...I traded Weatherspoon in Live 99, 00 and 03, in all franchises, as his FG% was so poor. Same for Ward.

I traded McDyess and Ward for Bibby and POllard.
Then Weatherspoon for Brevin Knight.

Harrington started since the abscence of McDyess, scoring 12 points, grabbing 18 boards in a game but now he is in the injured list, out for 8 games.
Eisley still out for 1, Doleac as well for many games.

I have all stats in an excel file, but don't know how to bring them online.

Hey MP3, how can you play 12-minute quarters and still score less than 100 points? Are you using some tweaked roster?

That's alright, and what did you edit? Nevertheless, how in God's sake could you average less than 100 points a game in 12 minute quarters...? That's the dream of the year for me, if you could explain it carefully I'd do it in my game too...

well i lowered everything, mainly fg, passing , speed, off awareness.
i made it so the best players in the game dont have a rating of anymore than 85 (which is kg) the next highest is kobe with 83, most players (allstars) have a rating between 70-80 overall. with the fg% i took it down to about 60, no higher than 65, i.e shaq = 65, d-miles = 55. also take the steals right down too.
i play on superstar with the cpu assistance on, in my strategys i just run motion and have the crash boards off. for the cpu strategys i have them play motion with box out and crash boards on.
the main thing to do is just run the clock and try not to get caught up in a running game with the cpu, make him play your style of game.
as you have probably heard a 1000 times before this type of editing plays well but doesnt work in franchise.

well like most ppl right now ive decided to start a new franchise with all the new rookies at there new teams.
but what iam doing this time is not your normal franchise, ive gone every team so that the only trades and free agent signing will be the ones that are happening in the nba right now, i only play as the knicks tho and sim all the other games.

played 8 games now with a record of 4-4
Started the season with 3 straight loses then picked up a win against the raptors ( rookie watch... Chris Bosh, 17p 7r 3a ) then dropped one to the heat ( Wade.... 10p 3r 4a starting pg).
if you are wondering why i have Dise starting at centre then this is my story... next game away against the bulls Eddy Curry was scoring at will while Kurt was left standing with 3 fouls in the first half, needing someone to sub in for him i decided to put McDyess at centre and it was all good. ( Kirk 7p 4a off the bench)
Eddy had 18 first half point and finished with 24 and 8, while Dise had 26 and 12, job done final score 108 - 104 knicks

Next game at home v the spurs, Mcdyess had another huge game and held TD to 20points, couldnt stop Tony Parker tho he had 26 points and 13 assists. tight game till the last five minute when Mike Sweetney took over in the post nailing 4 baskets on Malik Rose to take a 8 point lead. Bad game for Allan Houston with 10 points on 3 of 19 shooting.
final score 104 - 99 knicks

knicks v lakers from new york....
started the game with kurt at centre but after shaq's first qrter of 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting i stuck McDyess back at centre, shaq still finished with 34 but he miss alot more shots but i didnt mind cos kobe only finshed with 16 so i was happy. Best game of the season for dise with 28 points and 15 rebounds, yet another bad game for Houston with 8 points and 8 turnovers. finally a good game from spree with 20 points 7 assists. mike sweetney had 8 point 13 rebounds playing most of the game in place of the kurt "the human Foul" Thomas who had 5 fouls in 19 mins.
final score 109 - 105 knicks.

Couldn't keep up with the up and coming denver nuggets. Carmelo Anthony was a man on a misson hitting me for 13 first quarter points, Allan Houston chipped in with 10 in the first but the nuggets had set the pace and weren't looking back. McDyess returned back to the power forward spot in his return to denver but had his worst game of the season with 8 points 5 rebounds 20mins (6 fouls) as he was taken to school by Juwan Howard "Nene" and Marcus Camby. other big scorers for the nuggets were Rodney White with 21 points also had 7 rebounds, for the knicks Allan Houston led the way with 23 points and Mike Sweetney's 18 points 8 rebounds 2 blocks, but the star of the night was "melo" who finished with 36 points 6 rebounds 5 assists and 3 steals.

ok ive done six meaningless games just waiting to see who the knicks would trade spree so now that's out of the way i can start playing properly again...

ive just done my first game with KVH and it was a win over the kings at the garden, an ok start for keith with 15point and 6 rebounds. kurt thomas pulled thru with 21point and 13 rebounds in the 113 - 105 victory.

only problem i have is mcdyess and need your opinion... what should i do with him, i have dise , spoon, sweetney, harrington and lampe all trying to get some good minutes. at the moment i have harrington on the inj list full time cos i dont think he will be back next year but i could say the same for mcdyess he might never play for the knicks and his contract is up at the end of this season and imo the knicks will not resign him.... so should i play him or drop him and make way for sweetney??
