Detroit Pistons: The Retooling Effort

Game: NBA Live 2007, PS2
Sim Quarter Length: 12 minutes
Playoff Length: 7-7-7-7
Sim Injuries: On
Sim Intervention: On (will play 4th quarters)
Rosters: Accurate as of 2/1/07

Difficulty: Superstar, with highly realistic sliders
Quarter Length: 12 minutes

I will be updating once after every 2 week period in the game. For the first season, I plan on making many trades to acquire young talent. Then once I am content with my team, I will sim the rest of the season and provide a recap when that's done. The 2007 NBA draft will be crucial, as I will be selecting a centerpiece for the franchise. This Dynasty Story will be very unique, because I will be describing it through a 'SportsBlog' kept by this player. I'll post back after I've made the trades to get my team into rebuilding position.

Interesting choice. (I would have picked Dallas; but thats just me)

The Pistons are a great team; so you can get quite a few expiring contracts and young guys with their core. I would recommend keeping Prince, Afflalo and Maxiell however.

Although I wouldn't say its "very" unique anymore since Km26 is doing the same thing (only mentioning this, so KM26 gets some credit for Chandler blog idea), but its still different than the GM narratives going on right now... I'm just nitpicking... Anyways, your main need is for a center if that will be your franchise player, since all other positions are set.. anyways good luck! (Y)

Not really unique at all. I don't even see the need for a narrative anyway.

The team is good enough to win a title and does not need rebuilt (unless you mean the coaching staff), but like Chaser said, go for a Center; and maybe deal Billups and/or Sheed.

Good luck.

BTW; getting close to 1000 posts there Chaser!

I just want to rebuild the Pistons, because I want to work with the challenge of building up a team.

Good teams dont need rebuilding.
Still, nice idea. My core would be: Maxiell, Afflalo, Johnson, Herrmann and Prince. Good luck with the draft. I don't think you will get a top selection

The way I saw it, there were a lot of calls for me to rebuild teams like the Mavericks or the Spurs, which given that I am using rosters from 2007, are highly capable teams. So the Pistons are on par with those teams, and I selected them...

Anyway I've made some trades and set up some massive overhauls, I will post details tomorrow. Expect big changes.
