EDIT: First of all I would like to say hello to everybody. As you can see my old Lakers dynasty was retired(to boring). Because two of the best dynasty writers recommend me that i shouldn't do the behind the scenes(because everybody does them), i've decided to go back to good old way. It will probably be something like the old Lakers one, maybe some changes. But it's still gonna be a challenge as the Bobcats aren't really a top team. BUT, i will still sim the first season, make a big recap about everything and there will be some trade news now at the begining. Wish me good luck. I hope you and I will enjoy in this one.

I'd really suggest you don't do a behind the scenes thing. Everyone does them now since I started, and at least your last dynasty was unique. Anyways Bobcats are a nice team, do well with J-Rich. (Y)

I groaned when i saw the Sit/Chaser thing. Its overdone, and is almost always shit. Also, its pointless.

Granted, I'm doing one with mine, so I can't talk, but still. Get rid of Morrison!

dang, now i'm in a hard position. i was thinking to do this dynasty based more on GM than just games and players. i'm just not that much into writing just game recaps. but you two are two of the best writers here and yours advices means a lot. I don't know what to do. :?

Making the Moves

Brian Smith - Charlotte Observer. Charlotte, North Carolina.
Charlotte Bobcats has made two separated trades that just might change the team's future. As the close source tells the trades(made by General Manager of the Charlotte Bobcats: Rod Higgins) were made in just a couple of hours of diffrence. There were nine players and two draft picks involved in the trades. The city of Charlotte welcome Keith Van Horn, Maurice Ager, Andre Brown, Jason Collins and next year Memphis Grizzlies's first round draft pick.

Keith Van Horn
Image
So let's take a look at the trade that as our source say took place first. After negotiating with numbers of teams for their expireing contracts, Rod Higgins grabbed the big fish. After hours of talks with the New Jersey Nets GM Rod Thorn, they agreed to the trade that sends help with the big mans in Nazr Mohammed, much needed shooter of the bench in Matt Carroll and sophmore swingman Adam Morrison to the Nets for Keith Van Horn and his big contract that expires this summer and a good athlete and a defender in Maurice Ager to the Bobcats. As the upcoming summer will be full with good free agents, Van Horn is perfect for a team in building the Bobcats. Maurice Ager's contract is 2 more years long, but it isn't really big, infact he will bring defense of the bench, that means Wallace will be able to get a rest on D.

Jason Collins
Image
The second trade took place at midnight on the same day as other one and it might be even more important for the Bobcats future than the first one. Bobcats sended Othella Harrington with his more than 2 million dollars of expireing contract, veteran PG that will defently help teaching younger guards on team in Earl Boykins and Charlotte's next year second round draft pick to Memphis, while the Bobcats have recived Memphis's next year 1st round draft pick(which will probably be very high as the Grizzlies started the season with horrible record of 1-12 which is the worst in the league), Andre Brown just to make roster numbers work, but so it wouldn't be to nice for the Bobcats, they had to take Jason Collins and his 6.30 million dollars contract for next two years.

The Last Move of the Season

The Last Move of the Season

Brian Smith - Charlotte Observer. Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Charlotte Bobcats's GM Rod Higgins reportedly as he said his last roster move of the season. The trade took place only a week and a half before the trade deadline. Bobcats has goten themselves a back up point guard they were looking for as Maurice Ager and Derek Anderson just couldn't made plays for the team. The newest team member of the Charlotte Bobcats is rookie point guard Acie Law IV.

Acie Law IV
Image
This move wasn't nearly as big as the other two ones, but coach Vincent says that Law will get a lot of minutes till the end of the season and he wishes that Law would stay on the team for seasons more, because he really likes the way he plays. Anyways the Bobcats sended power forward Sean May, who was coming back from a injury, to the SuperSonics for Law. Yes, you read it right Law was traded already second time this season. May will defentely help the Sonics because they don't have really good big mans. Here's what Law said on press conference in Charlotte:" First of all I hope this is my last stop of the season, this is my third team this year and it has been hard moving a lot. Now...Anyway I am really happy to be on the Bobcats as on my preavious teams i didn't get a lot of opportunities, I hope what coach said is true and I'll get more PT."

Eh kinda a mediocre trade. Can't really think of anything to say. Are you doing a preseason? Or are you going straight to regular one? Good Luck.

The game itself was another sensation as it was close all game, neither team could get a lead bigger than 10 points thru the game, meanless that neither team didn't play any defense. As the game was close the ending was too, first Kobe Bryant hitted the 2-pointer to give Wester team 1 point lead with 3 s remaining. Greatest Achievement of the Season

As we already said the season was one of the greatest in the history of basketball.
But the greatest of greatest things was defentely Detroit Pistons breaking the record for most straight wins ever. They have broken the Lakers's record of 33 games and set a new one with 35 wins that were absolutley UNBELIVEABLE. They were winning games for 30 or 40 points and even if it was agaist the second best team in the league. That winning streak helped them to become the second best team in the history of NBA basketball, they fell short for only 1 win behind Jordan's Bulls. The recipe for the wins was team game as none of the Pistons avraged more than 20 points and none of the starters avraged less than 15. In the time of the streak they betted every single team in the league exepct for the Dallas Mavericks, the team that ended the greatest streak in the history of NBA. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas to a close win as he scored 36 points.
But they weren't the only great team of the season. Phoenix Suns won 67 games and San Antonio Spurs won 63 games as both teams ended up in the top 10 teams of all-time.

Yes, you're great.
Image

Bobcats Overview through the Season

It was absolutley disapointing season for the Charlotte Bobcats. As they ended up with the worst record in the league with only 23 wins and 59 losses.
GM Rod Higgins said that the team like it was at the start of the season could never win a championship, he also said that the moves he made were made just because, as he said, the team needed to rebuild the roster and get young players and maybe one veteran in the free agency that would lead the young team deep inn the playoffs.
Well the owner of the team Robert Johnson didn't like the ideas of GM Higgins, he said, that the team was enough talented already at the begining of the season to make it in the playoffs. He was absoloutley disappointed with the team's record and that was the reason why he fired both, GM Rod Higgins and coach of the team Sam Vincent at the end of the season. A week later he named, till than assistant head coach, Aaron Alvarez the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats and next day named unknown Garry O'Bryan the General Manager of the team.
Players weren't playing exacly great either. Biggest disappointments of the season were Jason Richardson and Emeka Okafor. But there's a bright light in the team, young rookie Jared Dudley played very well.
Here you can take a look at 06/07 Bobcats's statistics:

NBA Draft Lottery

Brian Smith - Charlotte Observer. Charlotte, North Carolina.
2007 National Basketball Association offseason has began. The first event to take place in this year's offseason was Draft Lottery. We haven't seen a lot of surprises this year. Fans in Charlotte can be happy as their home favourites Charlotte Bobcats has got the number 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, that will take place in Madison Square Garden in about three weeks of time.

Bobcats were lucky this year.
Image

But it wasn't all as nice as it looks like. Bobcats's pick wasn't first, it was fourth, but they were lucky as they own Memphis Grizzlies's first round pick. Memphis had fourth most combinatons(with 11.9%) for wining first overall pick and they actualy got it. But Bobcats's own Grizzlies's first round pick what comes out that Charlotte Bobcats will have first overall pick in the draft. And their own pick didn't have a lot of luck as they're pick had most(25%) of winning combinations but it only came out fourth. That means that your Charlotte Bobcats will have first and fourth overall pick in the draft - in three weeks of time.
Let's take a look how teams will draft:

1. Charlotte via Memphis
2. Philadelphia
3. Seattle
4. Charlotte
5. Milwaukee
6. Atlanta
7. Toronto
8. Minnesota
9. Sacramento
10. New York
11. Washington
12. Portland
13. New Orleans
14. Golden State
15. Indiana
16. New Jersey
17. Orlando
18. Miami
19. LA Clippers
20. Denver
21. Utah
22. Cleveland
23. Chicago
24. LA Lakers
25. Boston
26. Houston
27. Dallas
28. San Antonio
29. Phoenix
30. Detroit

that's nice - having 1st and 4th pick. Too bad, since you are stacked at almost all positions, except C position looks a bit weak. You should probably draft the best center or power forward(if he's tall enough) that draft can offer. There is a lot of scouting ahead of you, you better do a good job or you'll end up with some crap.

oh and what's draft projection? avarage, weak, strong?

Rookie Scouting

Rookie scouting by scout W. Tahri:
Here are mine scouting reports for players, I think, would fit best for the Bobcats:

A. Chisolm, 6'9", 254lbs, PF, Mercer:
He's like build of bricks, abosolute ironman, athletic monster, great stamina, can play both power forward and center position, he can even hit three point shoots, a dominante force under the opposite basket.
NBA comparison: Dwight Howard(more 3-point ability)

T. Musonda, 6'6", 235lbs, SF, Congo:
The best all around performer in this draft class, very quick, good athlete, can hit three pointers, a great dribler, can play ok defense, can jump very high, never stops running, can step up in clutcness.
NBA comparison: Lamar Odom

N. Castro, 6'5", 228lbs, SG, Nevada:
The best perimiter defender in the preavious leagues, will lock down anybody he has to guard, not only great on defense but he can also shoot well, atitude might be a problem, not very good in clutch.
NBA comparison: white Ron Artest

J. Ryan, 6'1", 218lbs, SG, Georgia:
You see me, you don't see me-he is that fast, absoulte Speedy Gonzalez when it comes to running and quickness, can create and hit a shoot, if you're open he'll find you, very good passer, makes plays for the team.
NBA comparison: Monta Ellis

B. Myers, 6'6", 241lbs, PF, Louisville:
Probably the best inside and maybe overall defenser of his class, will block any shoot that comes in his way, can lock down players on outside, not really good offensive performer, too short to play PF position in the NBA but he says it's not a problem for him 'cause of his great abilitys.
NBA comparison: Marcus Camby

Please post who should I draft, 'cause it's very good class and I really don't know who should i choose, please post.

you need a big man to pair with Okafor...Chisolm is a perfect fit in my mind and you can slide Okafor down to the center position...you are perfectly fine at the 1,2,3 spots...With your fourth pick you should take the best available player, but make sure it's a scorer...he can be your sixth man

Re-Signing Players

Brian Smith - Charlotte Observer. Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Charlotte Bobcats has reportedly re-signed power forward/center Emeka Okafor. As the source tells other four players, that contracts ran out, on the Charlotte Bobcats weren't sign and will test free agency waters. That means Ryan Hollins, Keith Van Horn, Derek Anderson and Andre Brown are now officialy free agents and are looking to sign with another team.

One of the cornerpieces of Bocbcats's future - Emeka Okafor has been re-signed for five years of time. His new salary in this upcoming year will be 9.50 million dolars and will raise for 10 percents(%) every next year. Charlotte's new GM, Garry O'Bryan, has said that the team is very pleased to re-sign Emeka. Coach of the team Aaron Alvarez has added that the next year's plays on the court will probably mostly run through Okafor, who will recive passes on the low post trying to draw double teams, that will open floor for his teammates.

Okafor staying in Charlotte

Other noteable players in the league that has re-signed with their teams:
- Josh Smith
- Al Jefferson
- Ricky Davis
- Luol Deng
- Shaun Livingston
- Antawn Jamison
- Andre Iguodala

While Bulls weren't able to re-sign Ben Gordon, who will test free agency waters this summer.

NBA Draft

Brian Smith - Charlotte Observer. Charlotte, North Carolina.
Madison Square Garden was stuffed to it's last sit. The basketball eyes of the world were pointed in New York this Tuesday as the NBA draft was going on. 30 teams, 30 General Managers, millions of fans and only one first overall pick. There were lots of reporters, each had it's own first pick, some thought that Bobcats's should pick big man Chisolm, some thought it should be all-around guy like T. Musonda, some liked defensive force from Nevada - Castro. But there could be only one....

Image

Commisioner David Stern stepped in front of the microphone, everybody listened. And with the first pick of the 2007 NBA draft, the Charlotte Bobcats select......Allan Chisolm out of Mercer university. Chisolm got congratulated from his parents and his younger sister, than he went to the stage, he got the Bobcats's cap meanwhile, and got congratulated from Mr. David Stern.
As the draft contuined the Philadelphia 76ers selected SG Castro with their 2nd overall pick, than Seattle Sonics selected, surprisly, J. Fuentes out of Kentucky.
And it was Charlotte's turn again. Stern announced....with the fourth pick of the 2007 NBA draft the Charlotte Bobcats select Jesse Ryan out of Georgia university. Jesse Ryan did same as others, went to the stage and everything...

So, let's take a look what our Bobcats have goten:

Allan Chisolm is defenetly the best big men in this year's draft. He's a absolute Gorrila(what is his nickname) down low - you don't want to have the job to guard this guy. He played NCAA basetball for Mercer Bears and won the NCAA finals - he was the MVP of final tournament. Led his team in points, rebounds and block for the last two years. His avrages last season were 24.6 ppg, 13.6 rpg, 2.8 bpg to go along with 1.8 apg and 0.8 spg. He staed in college for four years - which makes him player with very high IQ. Great draft, good that you picked Chisolm, Ryan isn´t bad pick either, I love the fact that he loves to dunk. :D

Signing Free Agents

Brian Smith - Charlotte Observer. Charlotte, North Carolina.
Charlotte Bobcats's General Manager Garry O'Bryan has announced that he has made, reportedly, last roster moves of this offseason. As says there will be no more trading players in this offseason, as the team is good enough to take head to head with the best. Bobcats has signed three free agents, two big mans and one swingman, that should help this team chase their dreams, So let's meet them

Paul Milsap in action

New players are center David Harrison who was signed for $798.000 dollars for one year, the second one is power forward Paul Milsap who was signed for middle level expansion for long five years and last but not least is Bomani Bodawi - unpicked this year drafte, but our scout had very high opinion on him so the team has signed him for 1.55 millions dollars for next three years.

As we all know Harrison and Milsap pretty well, let's just review their stats through their careers. David Harrison is avrageing 5 ppg, 3 rpg and almost 1 bpg through his years in league.
Milsap is avraging 7,4 ppg, 5,4 rpg and almost 1 steal, block and assist per game in his years in league.
But Bomani Badawi is 6'7" small forward, that can play shooting guard too. He is a bit underweight at 193lbs but he will gain weight quickly. Badawi is from Asyut, Egypt. He played for U16 Egypt national team, before moving to Turkey to go in college there. His name - Bomani means "warrior" in Egyptian, as he says that's exacly right name for him as lived up in hard conditions in Egypt, he had to be a warrior to make it here, and he says he is very pleased to be here. He was avrageing 18.1 ppg and 6.7 rpg in Turkey in his college - as he was the best player on the team.

Jameer Nelson, Ben Gordon, Mickael Pietrus, Kevin Martin and Alonzo Mourning has signed with their preavious teams, while Jamal Maglorie has signed with Memphis Grizzlies.
