LOS ANGELES -- S.Devious has been hired as General Manager by the L.A. Clippers. He replaces the inept Elgin Baylor for the NBA LIVE 2004 season. Owner Donald Sterling announced at the press conference that S.Devious will be evaluated by 10 MIN quarters, at 55 GAME SPEED, with Ben's sliders (modified slightly), on a SUPERSTAR level, over a full 82 GAME NBA schedule. S.Devious seeks to develop the franchise through sound drafting, which has been a deficit for previous Clippers front offices. With the new NCAA March Madness 2004 draft rules in place, allowing entry only after 4 years in college, S.Devious should have quality talent to choose from every year. Sterling also added that S.Devious will be on a strict budget, and must not circumvent or abuse NBA Live 2004 trade rules.

DYNASTY Status
Sim Quarter Length: 12 minutes
Playoff Length: 7-7-7-7
Sim Injuries: Yes

Draft: NCAA March Madness 2004 (with new 4-year Sr. entry rules)
System: PS2

S.Devious has years of experience in various franchises throughout the NBA Live, but this is marks his first GM job in any 2004 Dynasty mode.

LOS ANGELES -- With a new GM in place, the Clippers look to be a solid inside oriented offensive team, with Elton Brand & Corey Maggette leading the way. Rookie Chris Kaman must have an impact at the center position, as they selected him with the 6th overall pick. Kaman's development will allow fans to forget about the "Kandi Man" debacle, and move forward in a push for a West playoff spot.

"Q-Rich and Marko Jaric are an average backcourt," says coach Dunleavy, "but they have to knock down the 3 in order to free up space for Brand and Maggette to slash and pound inside."

"Slash and Pound" indeed, as the Clippers' woeful bench will be tested in the tough Western conference night in, night out.

CLIPPERS 2003-2004 Roster
C - Kaman = 70 "rookie will be tested by the better centers"
PF - Brand = 86 "Pound"
SF - Q-Rich = 68 "shooting for a new deal"
SG - Maggette = 82 "Slash"
PG - Jaric = 73 "must prove himself as starting PG"
6 - Wilcox = 66 "versatile forward"
7 - B. Simmons = 61 "rugged defender, awful shooter"
8 - E. House = 54 "undersized 2 guard"
9 - Dooling = 53 "erratic backup must improve"
10 - Drobnjak = 53 "veteran Serb center mentors Jaric & Kaman"
11 - Ely = 49 "a hard nosed rebounder"
12 - Carl English = 42 "rookie swingman needs polish"
A - Sofo Schorts = 46 (inactive, Greece) "will he ever make it to the US?"

LOS ANGELES -- The Clips turned in a respectable December, going 9-7
on the month, with 7 wins against West foes. "Maggette has been big for us, shouldering the load offensively and defensively, he's a key to our season" Dunleavy said. Brand struggled against All Star caliber PF like Duncan, Garnett, Dirk, but destroyed Amare for 25 pts 12 rebs on New Years Eve.

The Clippers end the year with a 13-15 record, and in the mix for a 8th seed out West.

Best Win: 134-91 over Spurs, Maggette had 37 points and 8 blocks to stifle Duncan as the Clips cruised to a win.
Worst Loss: 103-76 to 76ers, Iverson had all the X-mas answers as he embraces his new role as 76ers PG, dishing out 26 pts, 16 assists and torching Jaric for 15 pts in the 4th.

Interesting. Is this a sim dynasty? Live 2004 was a great game, and the Clippers had an interesting team. Good luck with this; you probably won't get many viewers as it is a 5 year old game, and there are no pictures, but if you continue to update, I'll follow. (Y)

LOS ANGELES -- The Clippers turn in a strong month, going 11-6 in January, and splitting their first two meetings with their rival and roomate, the Lakers. The Lakers made a splash in the offseason by trading away Shaq to the Heat for Odom and Caron Butler, but they have led the Pacific divsion since opening day. "We aren't focusing on those guys, we have business to handle over here" said Kobe Bryant, alluding to the rumors that the Clippers were players in the Shaq trade.

Clips are now 24-21 and holding the 7th seed in the West.

Best Win: 93-90 over Lakers, in revenge for Kobe's perceive slight, Maggette held the NBA Live best player to 16 points and harassed his final attempt from the corner to seal the win on free throws.
Worst Loss: 109-78 to the Lakers, two weeks prior the Lakers ran roughshod over the Clips, as their bench had no answers for the Lakers depth and versatile offense. Odom dropped 32 pts 11 rebs.

LOS ANGELES -- Is Elton Brand a top-25 NBA Live player? Is this the year he makes the All Star Game? With all the hoopla surrounding their sexier Hollywood rivals, the 187 Lakers are getting all the attention, as the hosts of the 04 ASG. But Clips GM believes that Brand & Maggette deserve consideration as well.

"Guys out West are getting in based on ratings, but Brand has been healthy and produced this year" GM S.Devious fumed. He may have a case, as Brand averaged 18 pts and 11 rebs in an injury ravaged 2003 season. He now is a solid 20/10 stats in 2004 and has played every game and has over 30 double games. "If we don't get at least one of our two guys in, the whole algorithm needs to be adjusted." Dunleavy remarked flatly, in a Zen sort of way.

Brand suffers from an abundance of more popular PF in the West -- Garnett, Duncan, Dirk, and Odom are locks this year. Kobe, T-Mac, Nash, Yao, Randolph, AK47, and the rookie Carmelo as a default SF leave little space for Brand to make an appearance this season. The better chance goes to SF/SG Maggette, who has had a nice stretch, averaging 22 pts over the last 10 games to give the Clips a winning record at the break "We're fighting for the playoffs spot, so we'll take the time off to regroup. I'll leave the partying to those other guys" Maggette smiled.

This is a nice one: good summaries. I'd like to see more in-depth game-by-game recaps, but that wears you down really badly. More pictures though, would be nice.
