Birdman is looking to fly alongside the Hornets once again.

Birdman is back

NEW ORLEANS -- After being reinstated by the league and the players association, Chris "Birdman" Andersen is looking to start over.

“We know that Chris is a good person who made a bad mistake and we’re proud of him for taking responsibility for his actions,” said Hornets Owner George Shinn. “Now that he has taken the steps to be reinstated by the NBA, we can concentrate on what he can do to help this team as we head towards the playoffs.”

“I am truly sorry for letting down the organization, my teammates, the fans and the city with my mistakes,” said Andersen. “I humbly thank the NBA and the Shinn family for this second chance and I promise that I will do everything I can on and off the court to make the most of it.”

Andersen holds career NBA averages of 5.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 253 games. He averaged 6.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 99 games during his one-and-a-half seasons with the Hornets (including 5.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 32 games during the 2005-06 season prior to his dismissal from the league). Before joining the Hornets, Andersen averaged 4.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 154 games (2001-2004) with the Denver Nuggets.

31/10/07 - Hornets (114) - Kings (108)
Paul clutch in season opener.

Game statistics. / Click.

NEW ORLEANS -- The season opener against the Kings, playing their first game without Mike Bibby, was everything but easy for the Hornets. They played well the first half, but gave the lead they've gained back.

With just a three point game going in to the fourth, Chris Paul was ready to carry the team on his shoulders. He scored 11 in the forth, including 7-7 from the stripe, to keep to Hornets ahead.

With 8 ahead the Hornets subbed out Paul, who showed signs of exhaustion. Kings saw the weakness and managed to tie the game with a minute to go.

Paul checked back in quite quickly.

Chris Paul hit 3 from the stripe, but Kevin Martin hit a jumper with 17 seconds to go. Paul was doubled, kicked it out to Bonzi Wells, who played really well, but wasn't able to hit.

In overtime, Chris Paul scored 10 points (6-6 from the stripe.) and added 6 assists as the Hornets pulled away late.

Paul finished with 38 points and 8 assists.

Nice win, Paul is really dominating, I think Chandler should get much more touches. Paul´s 10 points and 6 assists in OT is really amazing

02/11/07 - Hornets (120) - Blazers (70)
West dominates as Hornets embarrass Blazers.

Game statistics. / Click.

NEW ORLEANS -- Leading by 19 at the half, the Hornets never looked back and cruised to a
120-70 blowout win over the visiting Blazers. The Hornets are undefeated after two games.
The Blazers are 0-2.

David West scored 38 through three quarters added 8 in the last frame and finished with a
career high 46 points, including 5 three-pointers. Shooting 76% from the floor, West also
crabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a couple of shots. Chris Paul added 15 and 8 assists.

Playing with subs most through the fourth, even they ruled the court, outscoring the Blazers
by 19 points. Chris Andersen had his first dunk as a Hornet after the suspension. He had two 3
three-point plays in the fourth and finished with 6 points.

Brandon Roy, bothered by a sore ankle, came off the bench and finished with 7 points on a 2-
15 shooting. James Jones, who got the start for Roy, scored 20 points.

The Hornets will have their first road game against Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony and the
rest of the Nuggets.

Hornets acquire Young and Carney from Philly.

NEW ORLEANS, -- After complaining about team chemistry and his relationship with Bonzi Wells,
Morris Peterson was shipped to Philly on Thursday. Peterson didn't request the trade, but he wasn't
against it.

The main cause for this trade was Wells, mentioned before. He lacked chemistry with Peterson, also
with Butler, who was also dealt. But averaging 12.5 points off the bench in two games played this season,
rose his market stock. Plus Byron Scott loves his playing style - Passionate.

He will take over the starting two-guard spot, with both Carney and Young coming off the bench. They
both have great talent, which will help a young team like the Hornets.

The two players will suit up against a road game with the Denver Nuggets.

Trade breakdown :

Well, since i can't edit playing time in Live 08, i can't modify it. I love Wright and would love to see him with some minutes. I can play him at SG with Young at PF. When i play with subs.

Nice win! It'll be fun to see how two different Hornets dynasties will turn out on these forums ;)
Though it seems a little unrealistic how you traded Mo-Pete this early..
Since the Hornets just signed him (dynasty-wise time)
Anyway good luck!
