Hi everyone. First time poster here. I've been an avid reader for the past month though as a guest. Signed up today because I wanted some opinions as well as to share what I've experienced so far.

So on to my team now.

Current Record: 4-8
Next Opponent: New York Knicks 3-11

Current Player Rotation
PG - Chris Duhon (69,79%), Randy Livingston (61,21%)
SG - Ben Gordan (79,79%), Adrian Griffin (68,21%)
SF - Luol Deng (74,65%), Victor Khryapa (64,35%)
PF - Pau Gasol (85,64%), Tyrus Thomas (R,72,31%), Reggie Evans (67,5%)
C - Ben Wallace (84,71%), Michael Sweetney (65,20%), Mario Kasun (63,9%),

Inactive List
PF Malik Allen (60)
PF Alexander Johnson (R,61)

Note: First number in parenthesis indicates their current OVR

My team has struggled to consistently score in the paint and I personally feel that Ben Wallace was rated too high as an inside scorer. I found myself trying to shoot from beyond the arc far too much with Ben Gordan, Kirk Hinrich, and Andres Nocioni. My games were becoming too erratic so I felt I needed to do something to slow the pace down and become a force inside the paint.

I ended up trading Kirk Hinrich, Andres Nocioni, and PJ Brown to the Grizzlies for Pau Gasol and Alexander Johnson.

Kirk Hinrich was my toughest loss. He's inconsistent beyond the arc but past that, he's my assists leader, 5th in the league in assists. He puts us in great scoring position so he's definatly going to be missed. However, Chris Duhon has been consistent at running the offense and even once in a while has shown the ability to knock down tres when absolutly needed.

Andres Nocioni was a tough one to lose as well but only because I like him in real life. As for the game, I cannot seem to figure out how to control him on the court. He misses far too many shots for my taste and he offers nothing for me for defense. Of course, I still have Luol Deng whom has been starting and playing far better. The only worry I have about Deng is his health. He kept getting banged up early in the season. So far he is on a three game streak of staying healthy which is a record this year.

PJ Brown was expendable. Big contract, decent veteran with good rebounding skills and helped out huge at the free throw line when he was able to find himself there. However, I did not trust his inside scoring and so he found himself in the mix of the trade to give the Grizzlies a starting power forward in the deal. With Hakim Warrick not ready to start, I felt he would be valuable to the Griz and they apparently did to.

Alexander Johnson was fodder. I have no info on him except he came from Florida State, my football school, sometimes basketball school. He is a rookie so he is still worthy of look at.

TRADE DETAILS
Bulls SEND TO Grizzlies
PG Kirk Hinrich, 81 ovr, 3.07M (Starting)
SF Andres Nocioni, 77 ovr, 3.03M (Starting)
PF PJ Brown, 71 ovr, 8.00M (Starting)

Bulls ACQUIRE FROM Grizzlies
PF Pau Gasol, 85 ovr, 12.34M (Starting)
PF Alexander Johnson, 61 ovr, 412K (Inactive)

PRE-TRADE CAP
Chicago: -6.53M
Memphis: -12.83M

POST-TRADE CAP
Chicago: -5.18M
Memphis: -14.18M

I went into this trade looking to gain power on the inside and I came away with just that. I want my focus to be around the PF and SG. Ben Wallace has been sliding the last few weeks but he's been great at blocking and rebounding. I was looking to unload him but if my Bulls continue to play as badly as they have been, I'll probably wait until around the All Star Break.

So now I face the Knicks and they always give me fits. Depsite their roster being in absolute shambles in real life (last year and this year), they always play the Bulls like they are the 2008 Celtics ... which is odd considering that this is played using NBA Live 2007 and Garnett is still with Minny.

Alright, time for an update since the Pau Gasol trade.

I've managed to play 7 games now with Pau Gasol, and this being the first time I've ever had the chance to use him, results were not what I was expecting.

He came with the Inside Scorer icon so I figured that meant lay-ups. While he is good, he's not as good as I thought. I am having to adjust to his shooting form when shooting inside. He has helped boost my free throw shooting tremendously though. That is one of the positive aspects I get from him that I did not get from the combination of PJ Brown and Tyrus Thomas. While Thomas can score quite easily down in the paint, it's when he gets fouled I have trouble with. Having a group of poor free throw shooters, not counting PJ Brown, does not help when you need points in the paint. I could not rely on Ben Gordon to consistently drive the basket and get points and I could not rely on Thomas and Wallace to get points from the line. PJ Brown, while a fantastic free throw shooter, I found it hard to shoot inside with him and he was rarely fouled. Thus, the need for Pau Gasol came up.

Anyways, we are still not doing that great. I've lowered teh minutes down to nine per quarter instead of the ten because despite having one of the worst records, you would not know it just by looking at the team stats. We rank first in points and rebounds and in the Top 8 for assists but yet we still lose consistently despite scoring an average of 110. I found that my guys were gassed with 10 minute quarters on a regular basis and not playing up to par because of it.

One thing I have noticed with this game is that my games are always the same. I can take huge leads but then I keep giving the game away as the opponent just does a complete 180 and devours me in the second half. I have not figured out how to close games yet and keep my starters fresh. I am consistent at getting players minutes but I think I may be hurting the team too much because of that.

After playing seven games with Pau Gasol in the lineup, here's a quick summary of how we have played since then.

Before Gasol: 4-7
Avg 51 pts 1st-half on road; opp avg 54.
Avg 51 pts 2nd-half on road; opp avg 59.

Avg 50 pts 1st-half at home; opp avg 55
Avg 55 pts 2nd-half at home; opp avg 52

Avg 77 pts thru first three quarters; opp avg 85
Avg 76 pts thru last three quarters; opp avg 85

After Gasol: 1-6
Avg 48 pts 1st-half on road; opp avg 62
Avg 53 pts 2nd-half on road; opp avg 63

Avg 50 pts 1st-half at home; opp avg 48
Avg 54 pts 2nd-half at home; opp avg 60

Avg 75 pts thru first three quarters; opp avg 82
Avg 78 pts thru last three quarters; opp avg 87

It turns out that Gasol is not much for shooting in the clutch. With Gasol, I took the Celtics to overtime (consider they were without Garnett since this is NBA Live 2007) and managed to lose the game there because of poor inside shooting by Gasol and me trying to shoot from beyond the arc with an inconsistent Gordon.

While we may be 1-6 Post Gasol, I'm factoring in that I am still adjusting to his style of play. As an Inside Scorer, I tend to do a lot of layups and shy away from straight up jump shots. Apparently he shoots better jumping up than laying the ball in. We do tend to play better and I play more of an inside game than fast break. My defense needs to get a lot better than it currently is because allowing 60 points in the second half will not win me games. I am going to have to toughen the defense up and play smarter. Other than that, my offense has been doing quite well. I just cannot seem to stop the other team from making plays to the basket.

One weird thing I've noticed, and it might just be me because I am not used to playing basketball games (I've been playing Madden religiously since 2000), but I have noticed that opposing outside shooters tend to have an easy time at scoring from beyond the arc despite me always having my arms in their face. It is as if my guy never has an impact on that outside shooter.

I've already forgotten who my next opponent will be but as time goes on, I'll keep this updated.

My apologies for not being creative with this thread. I figured it could be more of a journal about how I feel I am doing in my franchise rather than an all-out fantasy journel. I know nothing about how to write regarding basketball franchises as my main interest was writing for my Dallas Cowboys and I know more football jargon than basketball anyways. I hope this does not keep my dynasty from being interesting.

Those of you that have read this thread, I appreciate it.

By the way, I still cannot believe I am 5-13 at this point in the season. I figured it would have been easier but playing at Superstar level really hinders my run-and-gun style of play. I am being forced to adjust and it has not been that easy.

Regarding my latest game, it was against Toronto and I had this game in the bag. Once again though, I threw the game away in the second half as TJ Ford and Morris Peterson lit me up. Chris Bosh was injured on a Luol Deng drive to the basket so he was not much of a factor despite still being allowed to play. After the game I learned that Bosh would be out with a broken toe. The extent of the injury was forgotten so I'll have to look it back up but I think it was either 10 days or 10 weeks.

With 5.6 seconds left on the clock down 98-97 after a TJ Ford drive, I decided to opt away from a downright tired (black bar) Ben Gordon and instead chose for Pau Gasol to be the guy to get me those last two points. Time ticking away quickly, Gasol found himself positioned perfectly under the basket. Going for the layup, he was forced to adjust and just before he let go of the ball, the buzzer sounded and with the ball falling deftly through the netting, the Bulls left the court dejected once again. It was the hardest fought game I had all season and just when I thought I would get that last second score to win the game, the buzzer beat the shot instead.

sweet dynasty, but i think the trade you did leaves alot to be desired, giving up a great pg and some great depth for a all star pf and an inactive player

Yeah, I was starting to think that myself. Pau Gasol has not been lighting it up but the combination of

I did forget to mention that I traded Alexander Johnson away to the Cavaliers for rookie PG Daniel Gibson.

Gibson has been playing a lot lately due to an injury to Chris Duhon (recovered, 6 day back spasms) and to give Ben Gordan a breather as well.

I made a couple of changes to my roster.

PG Daniel Gibson changed position to SG / PG
SG Adrian Griffin changed position to SF / SG

I was fighting with Howard Eisley consistently turning the ball over. Randy Livingston is more than capable for spelling Chris Duhon. As it is right now, Daniel Gibson is my second backup at point guard and my main backup at shooting guard. While he may not be a threat from beyond the arc, he does quite well in the passing game, free thrown line, and on defense. Because he does not tire as easily, I have confidence in running my offense with him.

One other side note. Seattle offered me Danny Fortson (C/PF) for Reggie Evans (PF). I took the trade because Fortson has better chances of getting in the game than Evans because Gasol and Thomas take up the mass majority of playing time at PF and I desperately needed a fine free throw shooter. Fortson has the highest rating at the free throw line with an 87 and he's been shooting near 90% from there. So far he's been well worth the acquistition. I've only had two games with him but he's done pretty well for me, especially when Ben Wallace fouled out for his first time this season.

When I complete the current week I am playing, I'll post an update. I think you all might be pleasantly surpised at the improvements.

hehe, yep.

I mean to state that the combination of Pau Gasol with Tyrus Thomas spelling him here and there has been quite a treat. I'm about to post my latest results. Stay tuned.

Record at my last update:
5-13

Current Record:
9-15

I'm still estatic that I hav managed to pull off four victories to only two losses. Of those four victories, they were all at home, of which I managed to come away with a streak of three before being beaten down by the Hawks on the road.

vs Minnesota . LOST 104-91
vs Indiana . WON 107-98
vs Seattle . WON 97-96
vs Milwaukee . WON 91-85
at Atlanta . LOST 85-67
vs LA Lakers . WON 91-90

The Lakers game was by far my favorite. Ben Gordan missed the game, his first game to miss after being told by the trainers following the Atlanta game that he would miss at least seven days. In his place stepped up Daniel Gibson and step up did he ever! He was 2/3 from beyond the arc, scoring 11 points on the day but most important of all was his astounding passing eye as he finished with 9 assists. Kobe Bryant completely tore us up but with a defensive mindset entering the game, we focused on shutting down everybody else and concentrated on just getting the ball down in the paint where Tyrus Thomas was a monster once again as he stepped up for a slumping Pau Gasol. Luol Deng went to the line with 4.3 seconds left on the clock, missed both shots, rebounded by the Lakers, thrown to the middle where Lamar Odom was waiting. Going up, he shoots, Bulls and fans alike hold their breath, it misses!!! Bulls defeated Lakers 91-90 in a too-close-for-comfort matchup.

A couple player notes:

Luol Deng has been my MVP up to date. While he may not be leading the team in scoring, he has been consistent at getting to the basket, knocking down tres with ease, and just flat out dominating on the boards and with an insane ability to get to the line where he has been one of my more consistent performers. Prior to Andres Nocioni being shipped off for Gasol, Deng was just another Bull wearing a number but since Nocioni left, Deng has been playing lights out and injury-free.

Ben Gordon recently injured. He's been playing lights out lately though he has been hampered a great deal by his inability to stay fresh late in the game. I need someone to step up and let Gordon come off the bench. I think I might have found that person in ....

Daniel Gibson. Yes, I said Daniel Gibson. He's one of the unknowns really in this game ... mostly unknown by me as I am pretty sure he's known by people who follow college basketball as well as Cleveland Cavs basketball. Anyways, I've never heard of him prior to starting this dynasty and since making the switch to SG, he's been doing quite well for himself. I do not think he's ready to start yet as he still makes mistakes here and there and really is not all that consistent at scoring but man can he pass well.

Ben Wallace has been dominant in the paint. Not only does he own the boards, he's damn good at defending and even becomes a monster dunker once in a while. Unfortunatly he still sucks at free throws which he's been seeing more and more of lately.

Pau Gasol has not been that inside threat that I thought he would become. Instead, look four names above this paragraph if you want to know who's been that threat. However, I am finally adjusting to his shooting style. I've figured out that he is just flat out awful with his layups as he completely missed an easy deuce with no pressure during the Hawks matchup. He's been in some sort of a funk since we began our home games almost two weeks back.

Tyrus Thomas has been a huge lift to this team's performance. He comes off the bench and just terrorizes the opposition. He's been bringing down rebounds left and right, blocking a few shots here and there, and has been getting better and better at hitting the free shots.

Alright, that's it for now. I'm on top of the world after pulling off that Laker upset. I cannot believe that I was able to pull that one out of nowhere.

Side Note:
Sacramento sits in first place depsite having five key players out with injury, one making a return as playable injured. They've been missing a few of these guys for a good while, and will still be missing them for at least a few more weeks. Just imagine once these key starters return.

Finally
If I was to install the patch to try and fix the stupid AI not subbing in players off my oppositions bench, will it affect my dynasty or am I stuck with what configurations I began with? Does that make sense?

Record: 14-18 (5-3 since last update)

Latest News
Ben Wallace won his second consecutive East Player of the Month Award (November & December). This is suprising really because he's dropped off since last month. He's averaging 18.5 pts / 16 boards / 2.5 blocks which I suppose is great.

Luol Deng continues to shine on the court. Lately he's been instrumental in taking over games as an inside scorer, outside scorer, and team assists leader. Ben Wallace doesn't score without the help of Luol Deng. What's been real suprising is how Luol has been hitting tres with ease. Pau, Thomas, and Wallace opened those up as I use them to work inside, which causes Dengs defender to come up and help which I then pop the ball back out where Deng follows with an outside bucket. He's been my most consistent performer.

Tyrus Thomas won East Rookie of the Month for December. He's very effective coming off the bench and usually helps bring the game closer or put the game out of reach. He's been improving in his post defense as well as at the free throw line.

Pau Gasol slumped but he's returning to form. His free throws have dropped off from 72% to 68% which means that I cannot trust him at the line anymore.

Ben Gordon suffered a small injury but came back just fine. He's back to leading the team in scoring and has resumed his usual streakiness. I do have to admit though that he cannot be trusted with the game on the line. In the loss to Pheonix, he had a chance to send the game into OT with a small jumper but instead he put the ball on the front of the rim. We lost that game 100-98. I should have just let Deng handle that duty since he was on fire anyways.

During Gordon's downtime, I had the chance to see more of Daniel Gibson. He's been very consistent at passing the ball, is second on the team in free throw percentage (Danny Fortson leads), and has continued to show his usefulness by taking over for Gordon when he needs a good breather.

Danny Fortson has been seeing more and more playing time lately. During the Pheonix game, Wallace was finally injured which pushed Fortson out onto the court. Scored 7 points, five of those from the free throw line, 1 block, 2 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Latest Schedule Results:

Chicago 93 . New York 77
One of my better team performances. Tyrus Thomas lit the Knicks up in 13 minutes of floor time with 22 points, team leader. Pau Gasol knocked down 10 shots, none from the free throw and grabbed 7 boards. Ben Gordon finished with 12 and 7 assists while Deng went 8 of 13 for 19 pts, 4 boards, 3 assists. Knicks continued to show their individuality with Curry scoring 25 and 15 boards. Steve Francis lead the game in scoring with 33, 20 of those coming off the help of Stephon Marbury.

Charlotte 65 . Chicago 87
The Bulls set a season low for points allowed in a quarter when the Bobcats only managed 8 points in the second quarter as the Bulls finished the half on top 43-31. Pau Gasol was awarded Game MVP when he finished with 24 and 18 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block while turning the ball over zero times and commiting no fouls. The suprise of this game was Daniel Gibson has he finished with 14 and 7 assists. Eight of his points came from the free throw line. Ben Wallace ended with 19 and 17 boards. Emeka Okeafor was a non-factor as he found himself in foul trouble early and only played 10 minutes scoring 3 points, 1 board, and 1 steal. He fouled out in the third quarter.

Chicago 83 . Minnesota 74
I was looking to make Garnett become a non-factor but of course that failed. Instead, I had to rely on Wallace and Thomas to do damage on the inside. It apparently worked because I left victoriously but it was an ugly game. Daniel Gibson continues to impress as he finished with 9 and 8 assists. Ben Gordon, coming off injury, finished with 5 in 14 minutes of action. Wallace ended with 23 and 12 boards, 2 blocks. Kevin Garnett finished with 23 and 16, 2 steals, 2 blocks.

Miami 104 . Chicago 59
Embarrassment all over the court. Dwayne Wade dominated with 42 points as Ben Gordon, fully healthy was unable to do anything and was missing all over finishing 5 of 22 for 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. Shaq Diesel scored 27 of his own with 14 boards. Meanwhile, Ben Wallace was crap scoring 8, 4 boards, and 5 personals. Luol Deng was our only glimmer of hope as he scored 17, grabbed 7 boards, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block.

Chicago 84 . Toronto 98
We entered this game setting out to make up for our last meeting where Ben Gordon missed an easy jumper at the buzzer to lose the game 98-97. Instead, it appears that we were still feeling the effects of the embarrassing performance versus Miami the night before. Chris Bosh, Bonzi Wells, and TJ Ford owned our defense. Wells and Ford finished with 29 each while Bosh ended with 17 and 10 boards. Gordon, Deng, and Gasol tried to do everything they could but the lack of effort from everyone else was enough to do the Bulls in as they fell for the second time to the Raptors.

Cleveland 70 . Chicago 72
In a suprising move, considering this is a rivalry matchup, division game, conference opponent, Mike Brown chose to sit LeBron James. In our previous matchup the Cavaliers won by 49 points in a 124-75 blowout. In that matchup, Gasol was wearing a Grizzlie uniform too. Anyways, heading into the game our objective was to make sure that Ilgauskas did not control my inside game. We worked to get Ilgauskas to the outside rather than letting him stay inside and I firmly believe that we won because of that gameplan. In our previous matchup, Ilgauskas finished with 11 points, 19 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 5 BLOCKS!! This time Ilgauskas finished with 11 points, 8 boards, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 5 BLOCKS!! The only real difference was his inability to get inside to grab the rebounds which set up second chance points for my guys. Without LeBron James, I was able to set my attention to only one guy and it payed off. Larry Hughes still lit me up with 35 points but it was not enough to put a notch in the W column for the Cavaliers who currently sit on top of the Power Rankings and lead the league in win percentage. Luol Deng stole show with 7 points, 14 boards, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

Pheonix 100 . Chicago 98
This was a suprising game as the Bulls actually led the Suns for a little while but as usual it was the Suns who stole the show. Amare Stoudamire and Steve Nash were the main attractions. Amare ended with 28 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 blocks. Nash closed with 36 points, 2 boards, 7 assists, 1 steal. Gordon finished with 27 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 1 steal. Deng closed at 25 points, 3 boards, 7 assists, 1 block. As the seconds ticked away, Gordon was given the chance to send the game into OT but instead game up with a brick. This was his second chance to either tie or make the game winning shot and his second time to brick.

Chicago 106 . New Jersey 98
It was apparent the second we started this game just where the Nets weakness was at as Ben Wallace managed to finish with a season, possibly career-high (not sure of this one) 37 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 3 blocks. It was so easy to score inside in this game. Gasol finished with 16 points and 10 boards. Luol Deng continued his light show with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists. Ben Gordon hit 17 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists. At the end of the game, the Bulls finished with 36 assists. Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, and Richard Jefferson was not enough fire power for the Nets as they really lacked that inside presence.

Hey everyone. Just realized that I could change the title of my thread. How freakin' sweet is that!! I was afraid I would have to start a new one and because I just finished January, my thread title became irrelevant.

Anyways, onto the updates. This is gonna be a long one so buckle up and hold on tight. There have been changes within the L and some might cause you to scratch your head, but what can I do as I can only control my team.

Previous: 14-18
Current: 24-22
Change: 10-4

I recently have experienced a three game losing skid when Miami ended my 9-game winning streak. I tend to go on losing skids when Miami beats me. This happens to be my third loss to Miami on the season.

Chicago Bulls Team Notes
Ben Wallace has been dropping off some though he still leads the voting for MVP. Kevin Garnett sits behind him and I personally feel that with his team having a better record than mine that he deserves the award more than Wallace should. The voting might be a bit skewed in favor of Wallace though because he has been playing lights out when he's not going to the line. The oddest statistic he holds is his 17.5 ppg. I just find it easy to score inside with him because of his strength which allows me to push inside.

Luol Deng has slid a little but he remains my personal MVP. Without Luol Deng, I know that I would not have been able to pull off our latest 10-4 record to put us above .500.

Ben Gordon has been hurt for his third time this season. He's playing too many minutes. His stamina has been getting better but he's ineffective if he's sitting out because of a sore wrist or sore ankle.

Pau Gasol remains Pau Gasol. He's been dominating but it's been a quiet domination. He hasn't had his name splashed across the Chicago Tribune's papers or anything like that but lately he's been playing more minutes and it has shown. He scores early and scores often but as the game clock ticks down he becomes more of a force on the boards.

Chris Duhon has been struggling as the starter. He's apparently much better coming off the bench, something I needed to find out. I miss having Kirk Hinrich run the offense. Kirk is leading his team in points, assists, and steals, but the Grizz still remain in the bottom four of the league. He has 1-yr left on his contract and with how badly the Grizzlies have been playing, there is a sliver of hope that I could possibly be bringing him back next season. Possibly. Hopefully. At the very least, I need help at the point because the draft class is very weak and I'd rather not put the controls into the hands of an unproven point guard.

Tyrus Thomas has dropped off considerably since winning the December East Rookie of the Month award.

Michael Sweetney has been winning my respect as he's been filling in for fatigued players. His ability to score inside the paint has helped tremendously but what's been even more helpful is how clutch he is at scoring.

SF Viktor Khryapa was sent packing to the Sacramento Kings for SG Quincy Douby. Sacramento sent the offer, I dug around for info on him and felt he could help this team out greatly, especially with Ben Gordon suffering yet another injury and we were starting a rookie in his place. Douby and Gibson have good stamina which allows for them to come in and slow the offense down. This move leaves me with six guards now, five on the active roster. Once Gordon returns from his small hiatus, the future for Howard Eisley and/or Randy Livingston remain grim. I will likely change Gibson's position back to point while letting Douby spell Gordon, Gibson spells Duhon.

The "L" News
Golden State Warriors shipped SG Jason Richardson to the Washington Wizards for PG Gilbert Arenas. Agent Zero's return home has been a pleasant one as he and Baron Davis have put the Warrior on their shoulder and began their long journey out of the pits of crapdom. Meanwhile in the Nations Capitol, the Wizards have yet to win a game since acquiring Richardson.

Sacramento Kings sent PG Mike Bibby to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for elite PF Dirk Nowitski. This was the more confounding trade so far as I have yet to figure out why either team would trade their star players unless there was an absolute need and they cold live without them but looking at their roster, it appears only Sacramento got stronger.

Portland Trailblazers traded SF Darius Miles to the Detroit Pistons for PG Chauncy Billups. This was by far the most lopsided trade I have seen. Portland gains veteran leadership, a good shooter, and an outstanding passer while Detroit has Darius sitting on the bench. This trade had me scratching my head.

Rumor Mill via FanNation.com*
Rumor has it the Bulls and Jazz are in trade talks. According to league sources, the Bulls are interested in obtaining the rights for PG Deron Williams. Currently the Jazz have Williams sitting behind Derek Fisher. His tremendous speed and fantastic passing ability combined with his ability to score has the Bulls drooling. This should come as no suprise as it has been no secret that the Bulls miss having Kirk Hinrich command their offense. If this trade were to happen, the Bulls would have to give up someone with star potential. With the trade deadline three weeks away, I would not be suprised to see something go down around All Star Weekend.

Alright fans, I'll cut this post short. Stay tuned as I will be writing up my latest game results in my next post which will an update on player statistics as well as team statistics.

*This is not a real rumor on FanNation. I just happen to love the site and wanted to incorporate it more into my dynasty. Anyways, as time advances, you might see changes in how I present my dynasty. I am not into flooding my thread with pictures as I prefer to write. I would love to include game photos but you have to realize that when I'm playing a game, I find that I tend to kill my momentum when I stop to take screenshots. So if you would like photos, please be patient as it might take me a while because I have to remember to stop and take snapshots once in a while. I hope you all can understand.

Detroit 64 . Chicago 92
This was one of those "whoa" games where you can only speculate as to how the Detroit Pistons collapsed in such a horrid manner. At the half, Chicago led by 30 by a score of 55-25. The very second following the tipoff, Chicago blew the gates wide open by setting the pace early on. Detroits defense was gassed ... and by the start of the second half so was Chicago as they only scored another 37 points while Detroit put up 39. No one could have forseen this happening to the Pistons.

Houston 92 . Chicago 71
The Bulls were Tracy McGrady'd all game. Ben Gordon was horrendous on both sides of the court. Several times Gordon was posterized and facialized and McGrady'ized. There was nothing the Bulls could do defensively to stop the onslaught that McGrady brought to the United Center. Chicago knew he was coming but it appeared they sat back and let him do his damage. Meanwhile, Yao Ming posted statistics that almost went by unnoticed.

Chicago 100 . Washington 95
Tyrus Thomas stepped up after the coaches decided to give Pau Gasol a break in an attempt to rejuvenate his energy level. The game will forever be tied to a Agent Zero/Antawn Jamison -vs- Ben Gordon/Tyrus Thomas. At the half, the Wizards led by 4 but in the second half, the Bulls pulled away outscoring Washington 52-43. It was Jamison and Arenas could do to keep the Wizards in the game. Tyrus Thomas was awarded the Jordan Brand Player of the Game.

New Jersey 72 . Chicago 90
Once again Ben Wallace was in charge against the flailing New Jersey Nets. With no one inside to challenge him, Wallace had a field day on the boards and gave his own version of the slam dunk contest. However, it was not just Ben Wallace that took advantage of the weak interior defense the Nets provided. Pau Gasol had an easy time scoring as did his rookie backup, Tyrus Thomas. Of the two power forwards, Thomas finished with a better output in his limited playing time.

Memphis 71 . Chicago 79
It was supposed to be a sweet homecoming for Kirk Hinrich, Andres Nocioni, and PJ Brown, but in the end it was only sweet for Kirk Hinrich and even sweeter for the Chicago Bulls. While Kirk managed to have a field day against his former teammates, it was the comination of Luol Deng and Ben Gordon that eased the pain. While all eyes in Chicago were on the former Bulls, the eyes back home in Memphis were anxious to see what their former Griz, Pau Gasol would do to his former team. The result was bittersweet despite being productive, that is, if he was a bench player. Following the game, Luol Deng was awarded the Jordan Brand Player of the Game, his fourth on the year.

San Antonio 73 . Chicago 85
Tim Duncan was non-existent for this game due to his inability to stay out of foul trouble. It was as if Duncan became aggressive for once. The real trouble came from Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. The Bulls required a full team effort in order to defeat the towering San Antonio Spurs. Despite plenty of mistakes, what really helped the Bulls to pull of this upset was their discipline. Chicago knew that if they were to win this game it was to be won with discipline. Heading into the game, the goal was to keep the #3 ranked free throw team away from the free throw line and to isolate Tim Duncan, knowing that without Duncan, Ginobili and Parker could not do it all by themselves. The plan worked and the Bulls walked away with another victory notched into their belt.

Chicago 82 . Milwaukee 66
The focus was on Michael Redd ... meanwhile Luol Deng took over. This would be the Bulls first look at Milwaukee's Redd after there were rumors floating around that the Bucks were shopping him around and the Bulls were one of the suitors. Of course, GM Paxson quashed those rumors when word leaked out that Ben Gordon was the possible candidate for swap by stating the Gordon is the future of the Bulls. Of course, with time comes change. You never know when the tides will turn.

Utah 64 . Chicago 78
This game was about as dry as the Sahara Desert. With all the hype that Andrei Kirilenko receives, he was about non-existent in this game as Tim Duncan was a two games back. With Luol Deng shutting Kirilenko down, the Jazz decided instead to focus on the Bulls weakest area. Point Defense. The likes of Chris Duhon, Howard Eisley, and Randy Livingston could do nothing to prevent Derek Fisher from having a good day. This spot in the Bulls lineup continues to be the weakest area. Deron Williams remained on the bench the whole game.

Chicago 84 . Indiana 68
There is no question about who took charge in this game. While Pau Gasol was awarded the Jordan Brand Player of the Game, it was honestly all about Ben Gordon. It was not really about leading the game in points but it was how he involved his teammates and how he was willing to throw his body around to snag a few boards here and there at the same time. Another player that stepped up his game was PG Chris Duhon. After putting up another pitiful performance in the previous contest against the Jazz out of Utah, he put up a solid game which came in especially handy because of Luol Deng's absense ... or what should have been an absense because his performance was flat out horrible.

Chicago

Atlanta 74 . Chicago 79
Luol Deng rebounded from last night's horrid showing to assist in tonight's performance. No pun intended. Deng's contribution on the floor and the boards paved the way for Chicago's victory. While Ben Gordan struggled to defend opposing SG Joe Johnson, Luol quietly took care of business dishing out buckets left and right, banging the glass, and when called upon, drove in for the for the easy layup and even dropped one from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Tonight's Jordan Brand Player of the Game was undoubtedly Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls.

Dallas 79 . Chicago 82
At the half, it was all about Dallas as they headed into the lockerroom with a devasting 47-33 lead. Upon the start of the second half, though, it was all about Dallas' poor post defense that allowed Chicago to mount a remarkable comeback. Trailing 65-56 entering the fourth period, Chicago kicked into fifth gear. Leading the way was a fresh Tyrus Thomas. He took the court late in the third to give starter Pau Gasol a breather and it was just the spark that the Bulls needed. After Ben Gordon took another hard blow, which would sit him for at least six days with a sprained wrist, the Bulls found themselves having to look elsewhere for those late fourth quarter points. Up stepped Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, and Ben Wallace. Defending the boards like there was no tomorrow, Wallace neurtalized any late game heroics from the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki, paving the way for Deng and Thomas to score inside and rookie SG Daniel Gibson to hit a couple from the free throw line. Pau Gasol, despite playing lights out, was shunned for the Jordan Brand Player of the Game. Instead, the award was given to Ben Wallace, a very well deserved award after his fourth quarter performance.

Miami 88 . Chicago 69
Dwayne Wade, once again, has a stellar performance against my Chicago Bulls. This time around the Bulls were without Ben Gordon, which was perfectly fine considering that Gordon has not done much against Miami at all this season. The two games against Miami, Gordon has gone: 11.5 ppg / 5.5 rpg / 2.5 apg / 0.5 spg / 1 bpg / 4 tpg / 4 fpg / 28.5 mpg. Considering Gordon is averaging 21.5 ppg on the season, that is a considerable dropoff when he faces the Heat. In steps Daniel Gibson. In his first appearance back on Dec 27, 2006, Gibson recorded only 1 assist in his 3-minutes of playing time. This time, while starting, he fared far better, though he suffered on the defensive end. In his three games that he has faced the Chicago Bulls this season, Dwayne Wade has averaged: 38.7 ppg / 2 rpg / 1.7 apg / 3 spg / 0 bpg / 0.3 tpg / 3.3 fpg / 30 mpg. Dwayne Wade Owns the Bulls.

Chicago 87 . LA Clippers 97
The streak continues. Each time the Bulls have lost to the Miami Heat, three games, three losses, the Bulls manage to lose the following game. But who would have known that the lowly LA Clippers would have capitalized on this opportunity in such a way. With the game on tied, the Bulls looked to Daniel Gibson to hit hit the easy jumper but watched in misery as the ball hit the side of the rib and bounced out, sending the potential win into overtime. From there, the game centered around Elton Brand's nastiness as he dominated the paint and led the Clippers on a 19-9 overtime victory. It's been nearly six full seasons since Elton Brand left the Chicago Bulls and apparently he's still hurt about that trade deal. Just look at the results. The first player to post a Triple-Double against the Bulls on the 2006-07 season. Wow. Bulls fans still wishing they had Brand on their roster.

Chicago 80 . Seattle 81
With starting SF Rashard Lewis out with an ankle sprain, the Bulls walked onto the court expecting only to shut down star SG Ray Allen and rising star PG Luke Ridnour. Out of the depths of the darkness shined a bright light ... one that was so bright it blinded the Bulls' Luol Deng into submission. Figuratively speaking, of course. In for the injured Lewis, Mickael Gelabale stepped up and suprised the hapless Chicago defense. While his defensive game left much to be desired, his offensive game took a step in the right direction and leaving Seattle fans happy with another notch on the victory belt and the few Chicago fans in attendance scratching their heads as to how their rising star small forward could have been so lax in his defensive efforts. In short, Gelabale took the Bulls by suprise, laughing all the way to victory. With the clock ticking down and Seattle barely holding onto their 1-pt lead, the Bulls, for some unknown reason, looked to recently acquired shooting guard, Quincy Douby, formerly of the Sacramento Kings, to put up the game winning shot. What makes this an odd decision was how Douby shot an 0-fer on the night prior to having his number called, missing all five of his three-point attempts and failing to really display any real value to this sputtering offense since Gordon has been out. Chicago fans need not worry anymore as it appears Ben Gordon will finally be back after being on an 8-day hiatus, six days after his initial injury. Hopefully that sore wrist will be better.

ratrac,
Don't worry, I finally took time to get a few shots of my next game. I like how they came out. However, don't get too excited as I cannot, nor will I, guarentee pictures everytime. I'll throw a few in here and there to give this dynasty some flare ... haha, I said flare.

Clutch,
Yeah, I'm a stats junkie myself. I actually took the team statistics and threw them in excel just to see how my team ranks on the Z-Score Tables.

As for D-Wade, it was expected. I go into those games scared of D-Wade and I leave those games frightened.

About Gelabale, I took a look at his real life stats, and needless to say, I was embarrassed that I was schooled by him. That tends to happen to me once in a while, where I'll go into a game thinking I'm going to have a field day. Instead, they decide to prove you cannot not defend. Deng was caught in a few screen plays leaving Gelabale open for an easy jumper.

Thanks for dropping by guys

Haven't seen this in a while, but still fresh!
You should probably trade Big Ben and clear up some cap.
Just a suggestion..

I agree. I am considering trading Big Ben next season though. Since I'm running NBA Live 2007, I'd rather keep him for at least the first season and then trade him off to Cleveland for hopefully Gooden and Hughes so that I can then move Pau Gasol to Center while running a combination of Gooden/Thomas.

FYI, I just happen to be a Gooden fan, so I was happy to see him join the Bulls this season.

Chicago 88 . Portland 71
Call it dominance. Call it teamwork. Call it as Burger King says "have it your way". However...or whatever...you want to label this mis-matchup between the encouraging Bulls and the burnt out Trailblazers, one thing was for certain. Everything Portland did following the first period, Chicago iced their efforts by responding back and more. The end of the first period ended tied at 22. What would follow was a barage of Bulls offense combined with tough defense that left Portland heading to the locker room down 47-31. Portland's coach found his pep talk to be ineffective as Chicago took to the court ready to extract their will upon this willing opponent. By the end of the third, it was 71-46. Finally, Chauncy Billups returned to form in the fourth period, scoring 13 of his 22, but his effort was almost pointless.

Chicago's Ben Gordon will be returning to the active roster for their next upcoming matchup against the Utah Jazz. This will likely force Howard Eisley back to the bench as his performance lately has been unappealing to say the least.

Prior to the game, the Blazers acquired SF Matt Harpring from the Wizards in exchange for PG Troy Hudson. Hudson became expendable when the Blazers sent SF Darius Miles to the Pistons for PG Chauncy Billups. It is clear that after this game, the Blazers are just acclimating themselves to their newly formed starting five.

Team ... FG 33-66 (.500) / FT 19-31 / 42 reb / 18 ast / 1 blk / 0 stl / 6 to / 9 pf

++Daniel Gibson dropped 8 from the free throw line. He stepped up for a sore Ben Gordon and gave Brandon Roy fits on both sides of the court.

PF Zach Randolph ... 15 pts / 18 reb / 1 ast / 1 blk / 1 to / 4 pf / 22 min
