Larry Harris sacked, Jeremy Mason to fill shoes
ESPN - 18/10/2007

Image

Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee Bucks General Manager, Larry Harris, son of Assistant Coach Del Harris who works for the Dallas Mavericks, has been sacked from the Bucks franchise. Reports say that Bucks Owner Herb Kohl blamed him for the downfall of the team. Larry Harris made moves such as drafting Andrew Bogut in the 2005 NBA Draft as the 1st overall pick, re-signing Bucks superstar Michael Redd, and drafting Yi Jianlian in the 2007 NBA Draft as 6th overall pick. Bucks owner and Larry Harris himself declined to be interviewed. Jeremy Mason, a young basketball-loving businessman was offered the job as new GM, and accepted.
"I just love basketball, so this is a dream come true, I am so lucky to get this opportunity", He said in an interview.
It is rumoured that he is already making trade deals to bring in a superstar.

New Bucks GM Jeremy Mason makes huge move, Allen Iverson now a Milwaukee Buck
Y! Sports - 20/10/07

Image

Milwaukee, WI - New Bucks GM, Jeremy Mason, who was hired a couple of days ago for Larry Harris, completed a blockbuster trade to aquire Allen Iverson from the Denver Nuggets.
"I think we are very lucky that this trade was accepted. In this trade, we gain a Shooting Guard who is a excellent scorer, that can get to the basket and free-throw line, and who has great court vision and who can pass." Mason said.
The complete trade was M. Williams, A. Bogut, J. Yi and a 1st Round Pick for Allen Iverson. It is rumoured that when Mason asked them at first, they refused because they had too many players; but when the rest of the Nuggets team found out about it, J.R Smith joked that they should go through with it, because Iverson was too much of a ball-hogger. It was rumoured that Iverson took it personally, and demanded the trade to be accepted. The Nuggets then waived B. Jones and V. Wafer and that was the end of it. Despite those rumours, Allen Iverson had this to say,
"This has nothing to do with my having grudges against any of my teammates, they have been great to me, especially Carmelo (Anthony) but I think that I haven't gelled with them as good as I wanted to."
Nuggets GM told the press that,
"In this trade we get some rising stars. I think we needed more young guys on our team, and thats what we got in (Jianlian) Yi and (Andrew) Bogut. I think this trade will help both teams."
All of the Bucks players had declined to be interviewed.

Bucks GM Mason looking to add inside muscle, aquire Eddy Curry
ESPN - 22/10/07

Image

Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee Bucks GM Jeremy Mason made his 2nd trade in 2 days. He has aquired Eddy Curry and Mardy Collins, of the New York Knicks for D. Mason, J. Voskuhl, and a future 1st Round Pick.
"With this trade I give the Bucks some inside muscle. Eddy Curry had a breakout season last year, but I heard he was unhappy with how his team was playing. So, when I had the chance, I gave him the opportunity to come here." Mason said to reporters.
Eddy Curry had this to say,
"When Isiah (Thomas) asked me if I wanted to go to Milwaukee, I was thrilled. I heard that they recently got Allen Iverson, and I am a fan of his playing style. Him and Michael (Redd) would be a great duo to play with. I think with this trade, my career will go in a new direction."
Again, the Bucks players involved with the trade declined to be interviewed, as well as Mardy Collins. As the training camp will start in a couple of days, I doubt Jeremy Mason will make anymore trades. It is rumoured that both Royal Ivey and Bobby Simmons are on the trading block.

Um...wow. Isn't your team lacking a bit in depth now? Your lineup is:

Iverson
Redd
Simmons
Villaneuva
Curry
Bell
A bunch of scrubs

Generally, this dynasty looks well-presented, but this team sure looks in win-now mode. I'd say the trade of Iverson ripped you off (Mo, Bogut and No.1 Pick would've, should've been fair) and you should sign some veterans to fill out the roster. Anyway, good luck.

Magic-Bucks Preview

Image
Newly aquired Magic Rishard Lewis is injured but is still in the lineup, can
he and Dwight Howard lead the team past the Bucks in their season opener?

Match-ups

Bucks vs Magic

PG: C. Bell - J. Nelson
SG: A. Iverson - K. Bogans
SF: M. Redd - H. Turkoglu
PF: C. Villanueva - R. Lewis (Hurt)
C: E. Curry - D. Howard

Key Match-up

D. Howard vs. E. Curry at the Center spot.
Both dominate bigmen.

Preview

The Milwaukee Bucks, with new arrivals Allen Iverson and Eddy Curry will take on the Magic for both teams season opener. It was reported that during training camp the team gelled very quickly. The Orlando Magic, who aquired Rashard Lewis in the off-season, are reported to be very confident on how well this team will be this season. Unfortunatly, during training camp Rashard Lewis injured himself, but is still fit to play. He begged Coach Stan Van Gundy to keep him in the starting lineup, and he did. This should be a very interesting game.

BTW: I won't do Previews for all games, only for important ones.

Bucks Win a close Season Opener against Magic

Image
Allen Iverson and Michael Redd teamed up with 35 points, 18 from Redd which was a game high, and 17 from Iverson

Orlando, FL - The Milwaukee Bucks came into the game with high hopes, putting the weight onto two shoulders, Allen Iverson and Michael Redd's, and it sorta paid off, Iverson finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, and Redd finished with a game high 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Really it was a balanced attack, Eddy Curry finished with 15 points and 7 boards, and Villanueva had 14 points and 6 rebounds.

The first quarter was the Bucks all the way, on a 14-4 run in the first 4 minutes, lead by the duo of Allen Iverson and Michael Redd. Then, the Magic crawled back, lead by Dwight Howard's offensive rebounding, closed the gap to 2, as the score was 18-20, Bucks favour, but Charlie Villanueva lead the way, scoring 8 of his 14 in the first quarter, giving the Bucks a 8 point lead going into the second quarter, 22-30.

The second quarter the Magic slowing came closer and closer, with Keith Bogans leading the way. Despite this, David Noel kept the Bucks in front going into halftime, scoring all of his points in the second quarter, he had 8. At halftime, the score was 47-49, in the Bucks favour.

The third quarter was much like the first quarter, where the Bucks dominated at both ends of the floor. The kept the Magic to scoring only 17 points in the quarter. Lead by Dan Gadzuric, who scored all his 7 points in the quarter, including a 3 pointer, and a 3 pointer from Bobby Simmons and some help by Mardy Collins, the Bucks lead 72-64.

The fourth quarter saw the Magic rally back, cutting the deficit within 2 many times during the quarter. The injured Rishard Lewis scored most of his 12 points in this quarter, and so did Hedu Turkoglu, who scored 4 of his 6 in the fourth. When they cut the Bucks lead to two with 12 seconds left on the clock, the inbound went to Allen Iverson, he made 1 of 2, making the score 90-87. The Magic called timeout, 10 seconds left on the clock, Stan Van Gundy drew up a play for Jameer Nelson in the corner, it worked perfectly, the defence collapsed, Nelson had a open shot for 3 with 2 and a half seconds to go and...

Image
This is Jameer Nelson for the tie...

It misses of the front part of the rim. Villanueva grabs the rebound, and thats game, the Bucks win. Despite the loss the Magic made 2 more 3 pointers then the Bucks, but only madre 42% of their shots. The Coach of the Magic had this to say,
"The Bucks played a great game, utilizing the fact that Rishard Lewis was injured. It was a balanced attack by the Bucks. Jameer (Nelson) had the 3 to tie it, and he missed. It happens, you just have to move on and play better next game."
Despite the loss, Dwight Howard finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Player of the Game
Allen Iverson, 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 6-14 FG, 1-1 3PT FG

Shooting Dud
Jameer Nelson, 11 points, 5-16 FG, 1-7 3PT FG

Top 3 Scorers
Michael Redd, 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7-20 FG
Dwight Howard, 16 points, 15 rebounds, 7-17 FG
Allen Iverson, 16 points, 10 rebounds, 6-14 FG

Actually, I prefer in-game screens since they actually fit to the recap, and plus your captures so far look quite nice. Nice first win though (Y)

The little guys having more rebounds than Eddy Curry, now that's realism.

I mean, yeah, Iverson is a really good player and also my favourite one, but the trade you made actually sucked really hard, Andre Bogut, 1st round pick and Yi ? C'mon..

<sigh> I just found this and thought "Well, here's finally another one that might be worth reading" and then I see it's already gone.

Oh well, good work on it, anyway. Even if I do hate the trades you made :-P

What is it with posters stopping a dynasty just because no one follows it?

So basically the main purpose of starting/posting a dynasty now is to get some attention from others, and if that attention isn't given just pull the plug.
