Changes at the top.
Image

May 1st, 2007, press conference
Today Portland Trail Blazers announced their new general manager for the upcomming season. Nobody was even
close with guessing who will it be. No more guesses as they sign with Scotie Pippen
as the new General Manager. It's a surprising twist for Blazers, even players are surprised.

Image
Scotie is happy with the new contract

Scotie Pippen at the press conference:

"As a former Blazer and a franchise player with Bulls Dynasty, I think
this is a new era for us. For the last past years we were allways on the top of the draft, which meant that our
seasons weren't brilliant as they could be. But I belive that Portland Trail Blazers organisation did a great
job of picking up the right youngsters. Few months ago i was at the practice and saw thoose young players who have
huge potential. They are all good athletics. So my vision for this team is defense. They can all play 48 minutes with
high perfomance level on the defensive end. Nate Mcmillan is a great coach, special with young players. But as you
are seeing changes must come and I'm the first one. Watch out"

Wind of change! Mcmillan out, Brown in.
Image Image

June 1st, 2007

Blazers sing Larry Brown as their new head coach. Brown will get 30,000000$ for 4 years at Blazers. It's a little bit surprising that Portland is changing coach because Nate Mcmillan's contract still had 2 more years to go. Apperantly they mean bussines this year.

Image

Larry Brown:
"I'm here because I belive this team can be a big threat on the West. Not next year or couple of years later. No. I belive we are a big threat this year.Now. But still, team needs strong veteran leadership. You can't base team on a rookies or sophmores, it takes much more. Our signature will defenitly be defense, defense and some more defense. We will be killers for teams like Phoenix, Dallas or even Boston. Who will go and who will stay I won't say for now but be sure that 2 or 3 players are safe. Changes won't be as dramatic as you think they will be. But they will be exciting."

Scottie Pippen:
"What can we say about Larry. Everywhere he was, he did some great stuff. We wanted him as soon as his contract expired with Knicks. We'll do everything we can to serve Larry in meaning of getting new players."

Hm.. Nice. I see you're new to NLSC: welcome!

This looks like it could be good, I have a few suggestions though. Resize those pics of Brown and McMillan so they are the same size. It'll look better. Also use more rich text in your first post. Also checkout some other dynasties here and you'll get more comments. Anyways, good luck!

Pistons-Blazers trade: Sheed is back!
ImageImage

September 2nd, 2007

A big trade happend today as Pistons sent Rasheed Wallace, Rodney Stuckney and Cheikh Samb to Blazers for LaMarcus Aldridge, Travis Outlaw and Steve Blake. Both teams were happy with their trade. Pistons were looking for young Center who has bright future. On top of that they got a small forward who will be excelent substitution for T.Prince in the game. On other side Portland got a well known player to them. He has matured and proved himself as one of the best power forwards at the moment. He will be a great leader for the Blazers.

Rasheed Wallace:
"Man, if you belive it or not, I'm estatic to be back. I have so many great memories and momments here. I really like Pistons and it was hard to go away, but from all that pressure we were under, night after night we had to be perfect. It's so relaxing not to be under the main spotlight for the championship. Now it is time for 2 months of hard training and preparing ourselves for the upcomming season. We must defend very good and then run and shot like a gun."
ImageImageImageImageImage
Memorable moments of Rasheed Wallace with Blazers

Larry Brown:
"We were looking for veteran leadership and that's excatly what Rasheed Wallace can offer. I worked with him at Pistons so we both have mutual respect for each other. He's a good defensive player as well as offensive threat. He'll be a great mentor for Greg Oden who's only 19 years old and needs that kind of mentorship. For now this will be our team and we will make no changes until further notice."

This has a bit of a messy presentation of someone's first dynasty, and I'm not sure if this lasts, but man, the Sheed-Pippen-Brown thing is so ridiculous, I'm intrigued. You got a follower.

Trail Blazers(0-0) @ Spurs(0-0)

...................................Recap: A DEFENSIVE NIGHT
Spurs have started first qaurter strong. They had 11-2 run lead by T.Parker. Both teams are more
defensive centerd so scoring was little shorthanded. Major brake happend in 3rd qt. when Portland had 15-0
run. Jarret Jack stole at that point of the game amazing 5 steals. There defense was so good that spurs didn't score 2 minutes and 49 seconds. Last quarter was a Wallace/Duncan collision, which eventualy won Wallace. A though, defensive win by Portland Trail Blazers.

.......................Spurs BOXSCORE...........................................................Trail Blazers BOXSCORE

Larry Brown after the game:
"I really liked our chances tonight. They were all playing very well together,
maybe not in the offensive side but the defense was key to our success. Special Jarret was huge with
his 10 steals. Also Brandon did a great job of keeping Manu cold. If we play like this every night, you gonna'
see us much more often(smiling)"

Outscored Blazers
Image

November 2, 2007
Image..............................Image
Trail Blazers(1-0) @ Hornets(0-1)..............................................................................................Even few quick lay-ups by Roy couldn't bring Blazers closer

...............................Recap: "BIG THREE"
P.Stojakovic, D.West and C.Paul together scored 74 of 95 Hornet's points. After half their lead was
by 4. Like in previous game Blazers had a blazing 3rd qt. Mostly led by B.Roy and M.Webster. But Hornets blew
them off in 4th qt. D.West was the key of that quather. Although that Blazers had a shot for the tie(J.Jones) it was
pretty much one sided game. J.Jack, like other night, had almost triple double.

ImageImage
.......................Hornets BOXSCORE...........................................................Trail Blazers BOXSCORE

Larry Brown after the game:
"I'm gonna be quick. One of those nights when almost every shot goes in. As you could saw
it wasn't us. Peja, Paul and David are a great "trio". We were trying to stop them, but they just keep coming and coming.
Overall I'm not disapointed because we've still had some great stops. We must be so much better in defense then our rivals
because we are definitly not an ofensive team, so if we let them score 100 points, we will be outscored. Like tonight."

At the half Blazers were up by 11 and kept their lead through the game. In 4th qtr. when Rockets attempted to turn the course
of the game in their favor, they had 8-0 run led by M.Yao and R.Alston who even hit a three pointer for 78-74. But that was
as close as they could get. Again brilliant preformance by Trail Blazers on defensive end with whooping 24 steals.

Larry Brown after the game:
"The result speaks for its self. Defenitly wasn't comftarble with 4th qtr. We weren't focused as we were through
the first three quarters. But overall I'm very pleased with the preformace from the guys. A perfect defensive game I would say.If we wanna
win, this is how we must play."

Hornets(2-2) @ Trail Blazers(2-1)..............................................................................................................................Sheed hiting one of many incredible shots

.................................................Recap: "HOME SWEET HOME"
One hour before the game should start every seat in Rose Garden was filled with an unticipating fan waiting to see the "new" or
we could say "old" Portland Trail Blazers. Everybody was talking about chances that Portland has this year.A playoffs? 2nd round? Maybe more?.

Everybody was estatic when they announced Rasheed during the presentation of starters. And Rasheed Wallace paid fans back with 16 points in the
first qtr. adding a 4 rebounds and 1 assist."Like in old days" said Wallace with big smile after the game. "The lift which fans
gives you, it's incredible man, really a key factor when you are playing at home. This win was for the fans." In 4th qtr. when clock was showing 1:22s to go. Oden was injured. They've diagnosed
a sprained toe(The recovery for this is typically 2 weeks). Portland was at that point losing 77:73. R.Lafrentz hits both free throws. Hornets with the
ball. C.Paul passes to D.West who tries to dunk it but is denied by Wallace. Wallace then scores for the tie with amazing fadeaway jump shot and Rose Garden
explodes
. Then Blazers steal the ball, Jack passes under the hop to R.Wallace who slams it. Game is over. Hornets lose.
ImageImage
.......................Trail Blazers BOXSCORE...........................................................Hornets BOXSCORE

Larry Brown after the game:
"Oh my god, what a game. Incredible. This is why i wanted Rasheed from the begining. A great offensive striker with
a defensive effort. Some say that he is too superstar for this team. But I disagree. He never demands to play plays on him, sometimes he don't even wants
to touch the ball in offense. He likes to contribute to the team, but on all areas. And that kinda veteran leadership i was looking from him.
Once again our opponnent scored 80 or less points. What can i say, a coach's fantasy(smiles)"

Recap: Rasheed carried Blazers
Blazers were little bit down but still pumped up from previous fantastic win over Hornets. Despite
missing Oden they started first qtr. very strong. At the half their lead was by 8. P.Gasol came smashin' it
down in second half. He scored 27 points of his 33 in second half. At minute and a half to go Grizzlies were
up by 3 points. But the brilliant defense and the outstanding ofense by Wallace, brought Blazers up by 2 points at 30s left
in the game. Stoudamire passes to Miller who sinks a big three. Portland has last possesion.
It was nobody else but the "SHEED" who made the last bucket at the buzzer. Portland wins.

Larry Brown after the game:
" I was pretty sure at the half that it won't be a hot at the stretch. But it defenitly was. We have really needed Oden,
he would be a perfect match-up for Gasol. Anyway the game was good but I've noticed from games before that we really
can't hit a three pointer and that hurts us a lot. We need to be more consistent from the outside.
Sheed did that what he does and nothing else. That's why he is here. "

Humbling Mavericks came to Portland where they played with blazing Blazers which's run was

became hot, scoring a 25 points in second half. Lead changed 12 times at the 4th qtr. Dallas had a
shot for the win but D.Nowitki couldn't sink it. Portland won by 1, again.

- Blazers scored only 86.2 points per game in 6 games. Coach Larry Brown said that for the wins you have to score at least 96 points per game. Afcourse with a good defense he meant. Nobody really knows who are they targeting. We will see...

.................................................Recap: Reliable win
Pistons are looking very hot after trade with Blazers but so are Blazers. And "Sheed"
was good as never before. He was allround, scoring, rebounding, assisting. He had a mvp preformance
and Detroit couldn't do a thing about it. "Damn it felt good to win over good friends. So much more
to make fun of them(laughs)"
. Detroit was never really close, Blazers held lead most of the game in range
of 5 points. Much more reliable win for Portland then previous ones.

defensive team like Detroit we did it. I'm very satisfied. But all I can say for now that yes, rumors are
true
, we are looking for some new offensive backup's."

Iverson the stealing machine

Portland Trail Blazers (6-1) @ Denver Nuggets(4-4)
..........................77........................ :..........................92

.................................................Recap: Blazers couldn't score ... enough
Iverson was the name that was most heard this night. Blazers were shadowed by the Nuggets. Everything Blazers were doing other nights, Nuggets were
doing tonight. Again very poorly preformance by M.Webster who was struggling with the shot. J.Jones came strong from the bench end steping up for non-active M.Webster.
Denver lead at half by 9. Their lead keep growing. C.Anthony and A.Iverson carried Nuggets to big win over Portland.

Larry Brown after the game:
"I have a feeling some guys are afraid to shot the ball and score. We really need to do something about the ofense, although we are a great defensive
team we just can't score enough."
