DYNASTY: Claim for the Throne

I will be doing a dynasty with the Kings, this is my first time to do this so please bear with me. I will be using Live 07 since I have no plans on buying 08 until the sim engine has been fixed.

Platform: PC (currently using SUM V2 with my own updated rosters)

Settings
Quarter Length: 8 min for played games
12 min for sim
Pre Season: 3 games
Schedule: Random
Season: 82 games
Playoffs: 7-7-7-7

Notes:
* Year is 06-07 (I’m using Live 07) but will use 07-08 Rosters.
* I would probably play most of the games if not all.
* The sliders I am using is the one by Pdub which is hard but fun to play with.
* Still hasn’t replaced the Head Coach with Reggie Theus but I will be making him the coach in my stories.

Williams lifts Jazz past Kings

Sacramento, Oct. 22 - The Kings played Utah in their first
pre-season game at the Arco Arena. Sacramento lost 106-92.

Deron Williams led the Jazz pouring in 38 big points which includes
5 assists. He also shot well from the field hitting 15 of 32 shots. Meanwhile,
Kevin Martin was the only bright spot from the Kings who had a great
game with 34 points and 6 rebounds.

“It felt good out there on the floor, so I just kept
on shooting it,” Williams said. “Our team played well down the
stretch and held onto our lead.”

The Kings were able to bring the lead down to just 5 points in the
4th quarter after being down by as big as 23 points. But Utah clamped
down on their defense and was able to stop the surging Kings.

“The team did well in trying to comeback after being down
most of the way”said Coach Theus. “If we played with that kind of spirit
early in the game, we might have gotten a chance.”

Reggie Theus replaced Eric Musselman as the new head coach for the Kings.

A couple small presentation issues (And I mean small, the biggest is the lack of hyperlni on the boxscores), but this looks great! Especially for a first dynasty. The Kings are an interesting team. They are actually quite talented but...

Put Udrih on the roster, and Greene on the IR!

Thanks for the comment! I am really new on this and I really don’t know much with regards to putting hyperlinks on the boxscores, I just cant get it right. All I am doing is trial and error. If you know how to do it please pm me to make this better. Thanks.

NBA Rumors

Chris Webber to become a King?

Image
Webber averaged 11.3 ppg for
the Pistons last season

Chris Webber has been the topic of many basketball rumors as of late.
He has been reportedly talking with some NBA teams which includes
the Cavs, Magic and the Kings. Webber last played with the Pistons
and played a major role on a team which reached the Conference Finals.
Experts are speculating that he is contemplating on returning with
the Kings where he played the best games of his career. The only problem
sources see is that Sacramento have 15 players on the roster and will have
to waive someone to acquire Chris’ services.

We shall have more news on this as it develops.

Preseason Game 2

Atlanta demolishes the Kings
Sacramento goes 0-2 for the preseason

Image
Joe Johnson goes hard to the basket

Atlanta, Oct. 24 - The Kings went on the road for
their second preseason game against the Hawks.
Sacramento was completely outplayed by the home team
starting from tip-off. Hawks won the game 101-81.

Sacramento really didn’t get their game going as two of
their star players, Artest and Bibby, played limited minutes
due to early foul trouble. Kevin Martin continued to play
well with 25 points and 6 rebounds. John Salmons added
11 points off the bench.

Joe Johnson torched the Kings scoring 23 of his 35 points in the
first half. Rookie Al Horford dominated the rebounding department
grabbing 20 rebounds with 8 coming from offensive boards.

“Our team played a great game tonight,” Woodson said at the post
game interview. “We defended well and run our fast breaks, and
hopefully we will be able to play like this once the regular season
starts.”

The Kings will be heading back to California to face Kobe Bryant
and his Lakers, for their final preseason game.

Webber would be a great acquisition. Now you can trade Thomas or Shareef, along with Miller for someone good.

Tough break on the losses though. Losing to the Hawks by 20 is so embarrassing.

Webber’s Return Imminent
Is that Sacramento calling?

Image

According to our league sources Webber is very close to a return
with the Kings. This may very well be true after Sacramento released
Darryl Watkins which leaves them with 1 more roster spot.

The Kings are in need of a better player in the Power Forward position
and no better player to fill that void than C-Webb.

Preseason Game 3

Box Scores
Sacramento Kings 101 - Los Angeles Lakers 107

Kobe sizzles in win over Sacramento
Kings finish the preseason with an 0-3 record

Image
KB24 dunking over Salmons

Los Angeles, Oct. 26 - The Kings went back to California to battle
Pacific Division rival, Los Angeles Lakers. Sacramento played very
well in the first quarter finishing it with an 8 point lead. They did this
without stars Mike Bibby and Ron Artest, who just watched the game
from the sidelines, as the coaching staff wanted to see how the young
players would play.

Image
Garcia played well finishing with 13 points
and 6 assists

But the rest of the game was a different story as Los Angeles
got down to business starting the second quarter with an 8-0 run. The
score at the half was 52-47 with the Lakers leading. Kobe had 22
points at the end of the half and finished with 37 points with 4 steals.

Image
Walton got hot in the 3rd period

At the 3rd period, Luke Walton anchored the scoring run of the Lakers
scoring 12 of his 14 points. LA outscored the Kings 31-21 during the
third quarter.

The Kings were able to bring the lead down to as low as 4 points
in the dying minutes of the fourth, but the Lakers held onto the lead
with back-to-back three pointers by Crittenton and Farmar.

“We started great but we weren’t able to sustain the
momentum”
Martin said. “And Kobe was just unstoppable,
we need to step up on ur defense if we are going to win
against great teams this coming season.”

Kevin Martin displayed his all-around game for the Kings finishing
with 30 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds.

homicide1550,
looking good disppointing 0-3 pre-season but dawg you should so use my rosters :P
[make sure to get version 12 though ;)]

in my most recent roster i think you'd feel very comfortable starting Salmons at SG and Kevin Martin at SF and then you could trade Artest for a very nice Center. And bringing in C-Webb.
Artest for Al Jefferson [very good fit ;)]

Just some suggestions :D

Kings Press Conference
October 27

Image

Sacramento, CA - Chris Webber was presented to the media
today after signing a 1 year deal with the Kings. Below is the transcript
of the press conference.

Question 1: So Chris, how does it feel returning to Sacramento?

Chris: Well, it really feels good. I am happy to be back and become a King once again.
It really is great coming back “home.”

Question 2: Have you talked to some of your teammates?

Chris: Yeah, I just talked to Mike (Bibby) earlier. He was really
happy that I signed with the Kings. We are excited to play with
each other once again.

Question 3: Any player or players on the team that you are
excited to play with?

Chris: Kevin Martin. I saw the guy play on the preseason and he
was just amazing. The kid will be a star someday. I would also love
to play with Spencer Hawes. Maybe I could teach him a thing or two
about playing in the NBA. And of course, Ron. Anytime you have a guy
on your team who plays with that kind of intensity, it really adds to
the energy and excitement of the game.

Question 4: Last question Chris! Any promises for this upcoming
season?

Chris: It’s a tough call. Uhmm... Maybe we could sneak into the
playoffs, we all know how tough the West is. But we really need to form
some kind of chemistry as the season progresses in order to accomplish
that. The young guys will really have to step up for the team. That is all
guys, gotta get to work. See you again next time.
