Chicago Bulls {4-2} Bulls go down to travelling Jazz

Postby pacers4eva on Sun May 06, 2007 8:29 am

hey guys, I have sadly had to stop my New Orleans Hornets dynasty because I lost my save. I must have unconciously deleted it. I have decided to do a new Chicago Bulls Dynasty - mainly because my favourtie player Luol Deng plays for them and Englishman Ben Gordon also. The addition of Ben Wallace in the summer meant a very exciting prospect for all neutral NBA fans.
Let the dynasty begin....

Good luck with this it should be good although i am dissapointed in Wallace leaving Detroit in that i'm a pistons fan but it should be good to see how he mentors Tyrus on he's path to becoming a great player. Also should be good to see Gordon and Deng the next Pippen and Jordan combo :D (Y)

Chicago gets set for the new season

Training Camp in Chicago starts in less than 24 hours, and the Bulls community is buzzing. With Deng and Gordon reported to be the next Jordan and Pippen combination that the Bulls have missed for 7 years is a prospect which will excite all neutral basketball fans. Rookie Thabo Sefolosha is also in the spotlight, his athleticism and etermination will go a long way if the Chicago Bulls are to make the 06/07 season one of their best.
Although they are a very young group of players, the Chicago Bulls play more mature and controlled, flowing basketball thatn many teams in the National Basketball Association. Scott Skiles has built from grass roots, bringing in young players, some soon to be some of the greatest in their later years. Summer signing "Big" Ben Wallace and P.J Brown will lead the way with experience in importnat situations, portraying confidence onto their younger team-mates, when and if that happens, Scott Skiles and Chicago surely will have a recipe for succes.
"This season is a campaign which all of our fans can look forward to. You only have to look at our roster to see how much strength and depth we have." Says Skiles. "I have told PJ and Ben that they needn't worry about the responsibility of carrying the team. It would be helpful, but if the situation does not occur, one of the young guns will pull through and take control. It has happened in the past. Look at Chris Bosh of the Raptors; when Vince (Carter) left for New Jersey, he was faced with so much pressure on his shoulders, at a very young age. After a bad start, and a locker-room argument, Bosh and the Raptors have moved up, and even made i the play-offs last season. We have a perfect "family" atmosphere and all of the guys treat each other like brothers, and when you have that you can't go wrong."
Skiles, his team and the Chicago Bulls fans seem to be very confident about their new season, and looking at the line-up, its not hard to see why.

Sefolosha making giant strides, Wallace in best shape of his life and Deng - Gordon partnership grows.

Image Image
Hinrich sprints across the floor :: Ben Gordon practises his three point range

First day of Training Camp, Chicago. 3:41pm. The clampering of feet and the echo of a basketball amidst the odd laugh is all that can be heard in the Bulls training facility. Ben Gordon is working on his three-point shot whilst Kirk Hinrich sprints up and down the floor. Luol Deng shoots off the dribble whilst Ben Wallace grunts as he lifts weights.
The concentration levels inside were excruciating. With Scott Skiles and Assistant Manager Barry Morrison observing the action, the Chicago Bulls players are hard at work, gearing up for the new season.
"This is where it all begins" Says Deng, "If you can't do it in here, you're never gonna be able to do it out there." The organisation and ethic was incredible, every player knew what they had to work on, and what they needed to improve.
We asked Sctt Skiles on the improvement and fitness of his players, "Thabo is really impressing me at the moment, he hasn't played a single NBA minute yet, but he is training like he has been in it all his life." What about the Gordon, Deng partnership? "Thats going great too, they are even expanding outside the game of basketball, they invite each other over, play video games all the stuff that friends do, and its great to see." and Ben Wallace? "Ben is in the greatest shape of his life in my opinion, plus he is really setting a great example to all the young players."
The Chicago Bulls seem to be reading all the right steps in their preperation for the new season. Their opening match is tomorrow night.

Bulls will host Bobcats in Season Opener

Image vs. Image

The Chicago Bulls will tip off their new NBA season not only infront a home sellout crowd, but aganst one of the worst teams in the nba the Carlotte Bobcats.
The Bobcats have certainly struggled the last few seasons, with Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace carrying the team on their shoulders, but lets not forget abut the 2007 NBA Draft. Charlotte have been awarded 8th pick which will not get them Greg Oden or Kevin Durant, but it might get them either 6'7'' SF Julian Wright, or Ohio State's Point-Guard Mike Conley. Both are extremely good players and are certainly top 10 draft prospects.
The Bulls are one pick behind on 9th, and could pick-up all-rounder Georgetown SF Jeff Green. Either way, both teams are going to have a new, fresh player on their bench for tomorrow's match-up.
Chicago willl have to try and force Okafor into a shooter and stop him getting to the basket at all costs. In the paint, he is considered one of the most difficult players to defend. Their three man trio in Hinrich, Deng and Gordon will all have to have good, solid all round games to hold off the Bobcats and get off to a winning start.

NBA Draft 2007, Oden and Durant ready to make their mark amongst the elite.

1.Image   7'0'' C, Ohio State Fresham, Greg Oden
2.Image   6'10'' SF, Texas, Freshman, Kevin Durant
3. Image   6'10'' PF, North Carolina, Brandan Wright
4. Image   6'9'' PF, Florida, Al Horford
5. Image   6'11'' PF, Florida, Joakim Noah
6. Image   6'8'' SF, Florida, Corey Brewer
7. Image   6'1'' PG, Ohio State, Mike Conley Jr.
8. Image   7'0'' PF, Guangdong Tigers, Yi Jianlian
9. Image   7'0'' PF, TAU Vitoria, Tiago Splitter
10. Image   7'0'' C, Washington, Spencer Hawes

To nobodys surprise, Greg Oden was the first man to march up to David Stern. The 7'0'' freshman from Ohio State was all smiles after being picked first by the Memphis Grizzlies, the rest of the NBA was not. Pau Gasol and Greg Oden in the paint could be an amazing partnership, and perhaps something for the Memphis fans to cheer about. Oden bought to the draft what it has been missing for about 10 years. A true big man. Since Shaquille O'Neal and perhaps Yao Ming, the draft has failed to produce any real shining prospects in the Center position. Many believe Oden, still only 19, can be amongst the ledgends.
Kevin Durant, the versatile all-rounder hailing from Texas, was second to recieve the cap, this time to the struggling Boston Celtics. Paul Pierce needs no introduction, and it was a major blow when he was injured midway through the season. The Celtics missed him and sunk to 14-straight defeats. He definently needs some help alongside him and Kevin Durant can do just about everything. Some even thought he may be chosen over Oden in the draft. Kevin Durant can really learn a lot from a great player like Paul Pierce and will certainly be interseting to see them playing together and what Pierce can show the future star.
The Phoenix Suns (from Atlanta hawks) filled their squad with 6'9'' Al Horford at the PF position. This could spell trouble for the rest of the league. With Horford coming in at the Power-Forward spot, Shawn Marion could move back to his more natural Small-Forward position, can you imagine a line-up of Steve Nash, Raja Bell, Shawn Marion, Al Horford and Amare Stoudemire?
Many were curious to see a Chinese center play in the NBA, and Yao Ming was the first to do so, now, 3 years behind him, another Chinese big-man enters the fray. Guangdong Tigers' Yi Jianlian was picked for the Chicago Bulls (from Knicks). Another reminder that the game of basketball is strecthing out all across the globe.

Gordon's 36 Get Bulls Of To A Flying Start

Image

Image Bulls 125 - 100 Bobcats Image

Ben Gordon couldn't have opened his 2007/08 season much better, he shot straight to the top of the Points league with an outstanding 36 baskets. Gordon continually found ways to get into the lane and with his superb scoring ability caused the Charlotte defence trouble all night.
But it wasn't Gordon's performance that turned the most heads. Yi Jianglian, 8th pick in the 2007 NBA Draft posted 34 points and 11 rebounds on his debut in the NBA. The Chinese Power-Forward used his height well and crashed the boards well from the 2cnd quarter onwards, earning most of his points from second chance opportunities.
Brevin Knight did his part to keep the visiting Bobcats in the game, with 36 points and 7 assists. Unfortunately for him, his teammates just couldn't get into the flow and the Chicago home crowd unsetelled them, leading to clumsy passes and silly shots. Emeka Okafor threw away 7 shots on the defensive end but he was the only Charlotte player that was anticipating every shot and rebound. Gerald Wallace was probably the Bobcats best player, he scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists, but as many times shown before, he can't do it on his own.
Ben Wallace shew off his ability to the home crowd with arguably his best performance in a Bulls jersey. The former defensive player of the year finished up with 17 points, 19 boards and 9 blocks, an excellent all-round performance from an excellent player. A very convincing start to the season and the Bulls fans went home happy.

Bulls carry on perfect start as Gordon scores 38

Image

Image Bulls 114-97 Wizards Image

Ben Gordon and the Bulls are on a sensational start to the new season. Last night in Chicago, Ben Gordon went one basket better than he did against the Bobcats, with 38 points. The English born Shooting-Guard was simply on-fire from 3pt range and found ways the wriggle the ball into the basket in all situations. Behind him was Ben Wallace, who scored 26 points, grabbed 12 boards and had 14 blocks. "Ben was simply a defensive machine last night, the paint was his property and wouldn't let anyone near it" says coach Skiles. Wallace had a terrible first quarter, being substituted for Jianlian, but returned in the 2cnd and had a near perfect game from then onwards, including an amazing dunk over Brendan Haywood which had the home crowd on their feet.
Gilbert Arenas of the visiting Wizards was strong as ever, posting 26 points and 7 assists as well as doing an excellent job on Kirk Hinrich. Arenas was simply incredible in the first half but continous runs from the Bulls stunted his performance. Caron Butler also played well, the Small-Forward scored 21 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Apart from Arenas and Butler, Washington had no players in double digits in the score column. Brendan Haywood had a dismal night alongside Ben Wallace, he got 8 rebounds and 9 points.

Wallace's excellent fourth quarter leads Bulls to victory in first real test

Image

Image Nets 92-100 Bulls Image

The Chicago Bulls travelled to the Continental Airlines Arena for their first road game of the season and their first real test. With easy wins over the Bobcats and Washington Wizards, Scott Skiles' team were going to have to be at their best to overcome Jason Kidd and Vince Carter - the most lethal partnership in the NBA.
Things were looking bleak for the Bulls at the start of the fourth quarter, with Kidd absolutely inihilating them on the offensive end. Luckily, Ben Wallace was about to pick up his game. Big Ben swatted away 4 shots and scored 10 points in the first four minutes, and carried on strong throught the rest of the quarter. Vince Carter could get absolutely nothing going in the 2cnd half, and Kidd was forced onto the bench due to foul trouble. Kirk Hinrich was relentless the entire game, even with JK5 at his best, Hinrich stuck to his task well and caused the Nets interior defence trouble with his finishing ability and change of pace. Hinrich finished up with 31 points and 8 assists.
Ben Gordon wasn't AS impressive as his first two games, but he still put on a good show with 20 points and 4 assists to silence the home crowd, he hit the three pointer with 4 seconds left on the shotclock to tie the game late.
Jason Kidd was on form, Kidd posted 25 points and 3 assists, hitting every open shot he was given. Chicago managed to keep Vince Carter relatively quite with 16 points and 7 rebounds, but a 7 point deficit wipe-out and an 81% FG in the fourth quarter meant the Bulls stayed underfeated in their quest for glory.
