Over the last two years, Chicago Bulls fans have enjoyed seeing their team improve beyond sub .500 seasons and underachieving lineups. The Bulls recently made two consecutive post season appearances behind strong performances from young up and coming players Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng. Unfortunately, both appearances were short lived as they were knocked out in the first round. During the latest off season, the Bulls acquired NBA All Star and multiple defensive player of the year Ben Wallace, along with some new veteran role players such as P.J. Brown and Adrian Griffin.

The Bulls also had a very high pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, and selected LaMarcus Aldridge at number 2, who was immediately traded to Portland for LSU alumn Tyrus Thomas. Also selected in the draft was little known Swiss product, Thabo Sefolosha. Originally drafted by Philadelphia, the Bulls traded for the young swingman on draft night.

With these pieces added to an already strong nucleus centered around Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich and Andres Nocioni, the Bulls look set to contend in the weak Eastern Conference.

Nice and profesional preview. I feel this is going to be good if you manage to update it often.

About the team, I think they have loads of potential in these young guys and great experience in Wallace, Brown, etc. Will you be looking for some trades soon, or just keep playing and then look what teem actually needs?

Anyway, will be following this.

Thanks guys. The training camp will start when Andrews next roster comes out. Does anyone know the deadline at which teams have their rosters locked? Its got something to to with playoff rosters.

Marquis, I won't be looking for trades straight away, and if I did, I wouldn't be moving any of the starters. I may look at moving some role players like Malik Allen, but for now the rest of the roster is safe. Also, hopefully I can edit my dynasty save to swap draft picks with New York, I plan to have this dynasty run through two seasons.

Thanks Tuomas, I wonder if there are any active 05 dynasties? I think you and I are a little smarter, sticking to Live's best versions :D

Haha thanks, yea, I only play 04 these days. EA really needs to step their game up this year or it's going to be another retro season for me, again

What I've read about in the 2005 forums here, I'm looking forward to the screenshots, you guys have done a good job on giving new life for 05.

Yeah, same situation for me. Unless 08 turns out nice, I'll be playing on converted rosters and CF's for another year 8-)

I really can't wait to get into it, I played a couple games with the Bulls over the last few days and they seem like a fun team to play with. Since I just got this new computer, the screens should be looking nice. This thing runs Live at like 55FPS, its sweet.

You should pick up 05 (unless you already have it), Seushiro's MM07 AIACT and Andrews converted roster makes the game really enjoyable and realistic (Y)

I have 05, I still prefer 2004. Maybe I should give it a new try but right now I'm pretty happy with 2004 :)

Good luck on the 82 games (Y) I modestly took the 28 since it's available in 2004.

Chicago Bulls GM John Paxson and Head Coach Scott Skiles stopped by for an interview with Ahmad Rashad at the NBA.com studios earlier today.

AR: Welcome to the studio guys, take a seat.

SS: Thanks, nice to be here.

    JP: Thanks Ahmad.

AR: Okay, first question. This one is for coach Skiles, how would you rate your chances at an Eastern Conference championship this season?

SS: Well on paper we look very strong. The only teams that can really match us on paper are Detroit and Miami. I think we are up there, but to be honest it's too early to say.

AR: John, any roster changes on the way?

JP: We have a few days to go before training camp, and we have a small list of players that may be invited to come along and try out. Whether or not those players make the roster remains to be seen. We actually have a public scrimmage going on tonight at the United Center that will include those players.

AR: Can you name the players involved? Explain the scrimmage further?

JP: Basically we will be having a 40 minute scrimmage game that is free to attend. We are using this as a medium to see how our players play together and if the potential additions to the team are worthy of being invited to training camp. We are inviting 5 players to the scrimmage, you will find out exactly who tonight.

AR: Coach Skiles, what is your opinion on the two rookies?

SS: I'm very impressed. Tyrus is a freak athletically and can reallyimpact both end of the floor, wether it be blocking shots, grabbing loose balls, slamming in put backs, he does it all. Thabo is still adjusting, but he is even more than I expected. He almost has point forward type skills. As I said I'm very impressed.

AR: Will the rookies play a large role in the gameplan?

SS: We will ease them in slowly. What's good about Tyrus is you don't need to have him involved in the gameplan to get him going. He is like Shawn Marion, he gets his off broken plays and in transition. Thabo will be backing up Luol and Ben, but he will have a large role in the gameplan once he's on the court.

AR: John, would you be interested in Jay Williams now that he has recovered from his horrific injuries?

JP: At the moment I would have to say no. Kirk and Chris are very capable and steady point guards and then we have Andre Barrett who has really impressed us during practices. We simply have no room for Jay at this point.

AR: Scott, will Ben Gordon be coming off the bench once again this season?

SS: At this point, yes. He simply has played better coming off the bench, and we play better as well. We will see though, he may become a starter this season. Who knows.

AR: John, if you are looking to free up a roster spot, what type of player would you be looking to sign?

SS: Well, we are set at the PF, SF and PG slots, so I would say either a SG or a C. However, we are looking for some more scoring from the post and their are not many available scorers at the centre position out in the free agent pool. We could go for a PF that can score, as PJ Brown can cover the C spot.

AR: Thanks for stopping by, good luck to your Bulls and have fun at the scrimmage tonight.

    SS: Will do, thanks Ahmad.

    JP: Thanks.

    Black Team 74 | White Team 91

    Barrett, Haislip Impress In Scrimmage

New Bulls rookies and acquisitions were unveiled for the first time tonight as the orginazation held a public scrimmage. The scrimmage involved two teams, five players a side in a 40 minute game. The white team consisted of players already on the Bulls roster that were new to the team. The black team consisted of free agents hopeful of making an NBA roster.

    Official Rosters:

    Black Team:

    Dajuan Wagner
    Marcus Haislip
    Loren Woods
    Lamond Murray
    Qyntel Woods

    White Team:

    Andre Barrett
    P.J. Brown
    Thabo Sefolosha
    Tyrus Thomas
    Adrian Griffin

The game was one sided, but its purpose was to display the talents of players that usually wouldn't get the chance. Andre Barrett was extremely impressive, as the 5-10 guard posted 30 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both Bulls' rookies wowed the crowd with athleticism and skill, as Thabo dropped in 27 points and Tyrus added 16 and 15 rebounds for the White Team.

On the Black Team, Marcus Haislip stood out. Haislip, the 13th overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft impressed the staff with his inside/outside scoring and shotblocking ability on the defensive end. He finished with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. Qyntel Woods chipped in with 17 points and Lamod Murray added 13 while Loren Woods and Dajuan Wagner struggled to make any kind of impact. Wagner led all players with 7 assists, but barely did anything else.

After this impressive showing, Marcus Haislip looks set to join the Bulls come training camp. It looks as though Martynas Andriuskevicius will be waived in the near future despite his fast recover from a serious brain injury. Coach Scott Skiles said "Martynas is still a while away from contributing for this team" when asked about the 7-2 center.

Man, very sweet screens :o Live 2005 actually looks great with patches and all. Maybe I will try to find the game and play it after the long time...

I'd say good choice of free agents, Wagner is my favourite of these

Thanks everyone. I had to turn reflections off because when using the converted roster (which needs the real shoes patch from 07 to stop Pink shoes from showing up) the shoes have pink reflections. Not a good look. Maybe FSHLine or whatever its called would be a help, I'll need to check it out.

Marquis, I thought Wagner had a decent shot at making the roster, but during the game he was cold and got abused by Andre Barrett on alot of plays. Qyntel Woods was pretty impressive though and Lamond Murray had a solid all round performance.

Marcus Haislip Attends Bulls Practice, Impresses Coach Skiles

Marcus Haislip, fresh off a dominating performance at the Bulls open scrimmage, impressed head coach Scott Skiles even more so today. Skiles said of Haislip, "This kid was a lottery pick after a great junior year at Tennessee. Although he is older now, his potential still remains. He has great inside outside presence, he was even a 3 point threat back in college at 6-10. Tyrus [Thomas] is probably the only other player on this team that rivals Marcus' athleticism". Haislip was heavily involved in the practice and looked very comfortable. He also worked out during and after the practice with Bulls' lottery pick Tyrus Thomas. Haislip, 26, has played in Turkey for the past few years after dissapointing seasons with Milwuakee and Indiana. He shoed signs in his rookie season but never exploded into the player he has the potential to be.

"I'm happy to be here. I would love to be part of the Bulls' orginization and contribute to this team as best I can. It's been a rough couple of years, but I have matured because of it and now I'm a better person for it" Haislip said when asked how he feels. Coach Scott Skiles did not ruleout late tryouts with the team for other free agents. "We still have a few holes to cover. Marcus has been impressive, but we may still try out a few more free agents and see what they can bring to the table. If he wants to make the roster, he willhave to work very hard - as will some of the other guys on already on our roster. They are fighting for a roster spot too, someone has to go".

Nice practice court. Haislip would be pretty nice signing here, as your team is lack of good PFs

Bulls' Fans Get First Look At New Players During Second Team Scrimmage

    Black Team 111 | White Team 102

The final open scrimmage before training camp was played tonight, featuring 16 players battling for a roster spot. Second year center Martynas Andriuskevicius was cleared for practice following his injuries on March 12th, but did not appear in the contest. It his believed he will be waived to make room for another player.

Coach Scott Skiles and GM John Paxson invited Kedrick Brown as a late addition to the scrimmage. Skiles was impressed with what he saw, saying "Kedrick played very well. He has the ability to play inside and outside, can stroke the three. I beleive he was 2-2 from beyond the arc tonight. I was very impressed with his performance against our roster". Brown, the 11th pick in the 2001 draft, scored 19 points and added 4 rebounds for the White team. Marcus Haislip, the free agent on everyones lips, struggled - scoring just 4 points and nabbing 3 rebounds. He did however, block 4 shots and dish out 3 assists.

Andre Barrett who was extremely impressive during the scrimmage 2 days ago also managed just 4 points. Bulls fans got their first look of season acquisition Ben Wallace, as he posted a double-double for the White team with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Rebounding was the key in this game, as the White team cruised to victory with great rebounding efforts from Wallace, Sweetney and Duhon - pulling down 10, 15 and 8 respectively. Duhon also added 14 points and 10 assists while going head to head with Kirk Hinrich.

The three players at the Bulls core, Hinrich, Gordon and Deng, put up impressive numbers at the showing. Hinrich finished with 16 and added 7 assists, Gordon went off for 33 points, and Deng earned player of the game honors with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Bulls' rookies Thabo Sefolosha and Tyrus Thomas didn't disappoint as both reached the 20 point mark.
