Toronto Raptors NBA 2k7 Association [1-1] Road loss @ Kings

Well, the other one didn't work out, but my dad got the game fixed, so I'll give it another go.

Before you complain about the roster, 2K sports doesn't have Garbajosa, P.J. Tucker, or Uros Slokar on the game, so I try my best. Rosters for all teams are as updated as I felt like updating.

Looking good. The 360 version has a roster update with Garbajosa but it sucks and you need Xbox Live. I'll be watching. I recommend playing Bosh at Center, Bargs at PF, Mo-Pete at SF, either Parker or Jones and SG and keep Ford at PG.

I would play Mo Pete at sg, and then Parker and Jones on sf, with Jones as starter

I fail to see the point in that. With Mo-Pete at 6'7'', Parker at 6'6'', and Jones at 6'4'' it would be logical to play the tallest at SF. Personally I am a fan of Jones, so I think I'm using Lamrock's idea.

I have nothing against that. Put when you see a playing style, it would probably be Fred Jones who would fit best a SF. But all three players can play both positions. But im looking forward to the first game :D

Bench leads Raptors to close win in season opener

Image 97 @ 99 Image

It looks like Bryan Colangelo's moves might pay off, as the Raptors edge Portland in the first game of the season. Toronto led most of the way, by as little as 1 and as many as 12. The first quarter was mainly Toronto, as they held a 7 point lead after one. At halftime, the score was 57-50.

Toronto led by eight at the end of three, but it looked like Portland was starting to compete. Portland went on a 9-0 run to tie the game with two minutes left, and hung there the rest of the way. With Toronto up 98-97, T.J. Ford missed a hook with 13 seconds left, Portland got the rebound and went up the floor. Looking to get it inside for the game-winner, Ford redeemed himself and picked off the pass, and Portland helplessley fouled with 0.2 left, and Ford hit one free throw to ice the game.

Bench play was the key for the Raps, as Jose Calderon and Joey Graham had 15 points apiece. Ford finished with 18 along with some clutch baskets, and Chris Bosh dropped 23 and 7 rebounds. The other Raptor in double figures was Morris Peterson with 10. Top pick Andrea Bargnani scored 6 in his NBA debut.

For Portland, they were led by Dan Dickau and Zach Randolph with 19 apiece. Randolph added 7 boards and Dickau had 5 assists. Juan Dixon scored 13 points, and Joel Przybilla had 11 and 8 rebounds off the bench. Darius Miles had 9 assists, and Blazer rookies Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge scores 9 and 8, respectively.

Poor shooting dooms Raps in loss; Bargnani shows promise

Image 93 @ 108 Image

Rookie Andrea Bargnani was the only bright stop in the game, as the Raptors shot an abysmal 36.6% from the field and could not stop Mike Bibby and Ron Artest. Superstar Chris Bosh was held in check by Sac-Town's defense. He wasn't happy after the game.

"We just plain didn't come to play today," an angry Bosh told the media after the loss. "This franchise is supposed to be headed in the right direction, and we can't have games like this if that's the truth." Point guard T.J. Ford was a little more optimistic, perhaps because he was the leading scorer for T-Dot.

"We're a young team. We'll have games like that." he said. "We were outdone by a team of veterans. We need to use it as a learning experience and move on."

Sacramento held a potent lead that grew from 17-19 after one to 56-44 after to and 88-69 after three. Toronto managed to whittle it down to 15 at the end of the game.

Mike Bibby was all over the place with 36 points and 12 assists. Also in double figures in scoring was Artest, with 28 points and 8 rebouds, Brad Miller, with 12 and 16 boards, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim, with 10 points and 7 pulls.

Mentioned earlier, Ford led the Raptors with 25 points. Il Mago finished with 20 points, and Fred Jones and Morris Peterson had 11 apiece, with Peterson adding seven rebounds. CB4 had a very uncharacteristic day with only 9 points and 6 rebounds.
