Finnaly, I have decided to start my dynasty with the Orlando Magic.

Magic involved in a Sign-And-Trade deal

The Magic have signed veteran guard N. Van Exel on a Mid Level Exception and traded him right away to Golden State with P. Garity for T. Murphy.

"We think that T. Murphy can be a big part of the team. He can play in the post, or step up and hit the three. A universal player that we needed under the basket next to Dwight." - team GM said.

The staff also announced, that they have agreed terms with P. Ramos (C, 21) and R. Lopez (PG, 24). The terms were not disclosed.

"Signing these two talented players will protect us from player shortage in case of injuries and will make our bench deeper.

Orlando GM Otis Smith interview

The young and ambitious Orlando Magic team is looking pretty good. It seems they could make the playoffs this year. An interview about the upcoming season with the Orlando general manager Otis Smith.

Q: What do you think about the team this year?

I think we have a good, talented group of players. Many of them play together for a couple of years, I am expecting much, if not this season, then in a couple of years. We made some good additions in the offseason, that I think will certainly strenghten the team.

Q: What is the goal for the team this season?

We need to make the playoffs, that is a realistic goal. As the season goes, the goals might change, it depends on the team performance.

Q: Who do you think will be the go to guy in your team?

Well, it is not certain yet, but if I had to say now, I guess it would be Dwight Howard. He is already one of the most dominant players in the paint at both ends of the floor and develops incredibly every year. But, as I said, who knows, it may be Grant Hill, he has reduced his injury problems and is playing better and better again. You can never underestimate Carlos Arroyo, he is special and just needs a chance. He might end up being our main option at the offensive end.

Q: Probably the biggest move in the offseason, getting T. Murphy. Why was the decition made?

Troy is a great all-round player, just the player we needed. He can score in many ways - hit threes, mid-rande, inside shots. He is also a solid rebounder. Just what we needed in the paint next to Dwight. We had Turkoglu, but he might have found it hard to defend against tougher NBA power forwards, we needed a simmilar style, but stronger player. Howerer, Hedo will certainly be one of our main options from the bench.

Orlando win season opener

The Orlando Magic have gone off to a good start beating the Chicago Bulls at the Waterhous Center 98:93.

The Bulls started off strong, being led by A. Nocioni they scored 30 points in a quarter to get a 9 point lead after the first period.

In the second and third quarters the game evened, but the Bulls still held their 9 point lead.

But in the fourth quarter, thanks to great performances by C. Arroyo and D. Howard, the Magicians were able to take over the game and win it in the end.

The player of the game:

C. Arroyo - 20 points (9/21 FG, 0/4 3p, 2/2 FT), 3 rebs, 6 assists, 3 steals.

"It was a tough game, we couldnt find our game until the fourth quarter, the defense was really bad. But in the fourth quarter, thanks to extra effort from players we were able to reduce them to only 10 points and win the game. This just proves, that we must start everything from defense." - Orlando head coach Brian Hill said.

The next game will be played after two days at home against the 76ers.

Well the trade would look nice, If Magic hadn't acquired Darko Milicic last season... They wanted a talent, they wanted to give him time and they wanted him to improve, but with this trade you're kinda ruing it...Anyways, good luck with this one...

Well, in the roster upadate I have he has a 75 ovr rating and I really like him, so I'll probably start him at SG alongside Jameer Nelson.

Pursuer, well, I needed a deeper bench if I'm going anywhere, he'll get playing time as the second C, but I cant start him, hes not good enough.

Well you know, I thought Ime Udoka wasn't good enough too(real-life) to play in a starting lineup, but he's playing for the Blazers and he's doing it nicely(though his overall is lower than Darko's on live)...

Orlando notch second straight win

The Orlando Magic grab their second consecutive win, easily beating the 76ers 103:86.

Philadelfia got to a better start and with the help of W. Green were able to get a 5 point lead after the first (26:21).

However, a very strong second quarter by the Magic proved to be key factors and they were able to seal the deal, behind great play by the frontline - D. Howard and T. Murphy.

The fourth period was just a formality, since the magic had a comfortable 17 point lead.

The player of the game:

D. Howard - 26 points (12/16 FG, 2/3 FT), 10 rebounds.

"We made the right decitions after the first quarter and therefore were able to take control of the game and seal the deal. I'm very happy about todays performance." - Brian Hill told in the press conference.

Up next is the first trip of the year to Atlanta.

Well, since my computer is almost dead right now, I cant play in high graphics so I dont think it would look nice. And about the box score, well, this way I save time and you dont have to click two links. (notice the link on the score in recaps)

Still I could do that if it really matters.

Btw, as I see Im not the only one who watches the Cavs-Spurs

Stunning Arroyo performance extends winning streak

The first road trip was much tougher than expected, the Hawks were leading by 9 and it looked like they might get away, but Orlando, thanks to great performance by C. Arroyo, managed to get a hard victory 97:89.

It was a tough first half, Atlanta played great at the offensive end and got a 3 point lead at the half. Orlando was pulled by Grant Hill and Carlos Arroyo, who scored 16 and 12 points in the first half respectively.

In the third quarter Carlos Arroyo put on a show, scoring 11 points in a row, including three 3-pointers, whitch helped his team get a 7 point lead. Howerer, when he sat on the bench, Atlanta not only reduced the deficit, but got a solid lead. But, in the last secons of the third J. Reddick hit a couple of shots and was able to narrow the Hawks lead.

The final period starded with both teams changing a couple of possetions. When Brian Hill let in the starting five, Orlando woke up and after some great clutch shots by Carlos Arroyo, won the game.

The player of the game:

C. Arroyo - 34 points (12/19 FG, 6/9 3P, 4/5 FT), 3 rebouns, 4 assists.

"It was a very tough game, we werent able to clean the glass, so the Hawks had some second chances, whitch we cant allow. Howerer, thanks to great play by Carlos, we were able to win this game. But we will have alot of work, because many things are still not right."

The next game will be played tomorow back home, against Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards.

Double overtime win extends streak to 4

The most intense this season was played in the Waterhouse center, where Orlando Magic hosted the struggling Washington Wizards. The game ended 130:127 to the Magicians after two overtimes.

The first half fast paced, both teams changed possetions fast, scored many points. The Wizards were led by A. Daniels in the first half, who scored 14 points. The Magic - by D. Howard and C. Arroyo, who both scored 13 points each.

The third quarter started difficult for both teams, as the offense began struggling. The tempo of the game slowed until the middle of the quarter.

Then, thanks to great play by Orlando playmaker Jameer Nelson, who hit 3 straight threes, and it looked like Orlando are taking control of the game, then Washington All-Star G. Arenas responded with some big baskets.

But Magic still were able to take a 10 point lead heading into the final quarter.

In the fourth, it was all Arenas, who scored 14 points in a quarter and helped his team reduce the deficit. D. Howard made some huge dunks to help Orlando in offense, and it looked as it might be enough for them to seal the win, but then E. Thomas scored 7 straight points, including two buckets with a foul.

Carlos Arroyo still had a chance to win the game for the Magic, but he missed the buzzer beater three.

The overtimes went tight, both teams had chances to get away, made runs, Arroyo missed another opportunity to win the game after the first overtime.

Howerer, Magic, led by D. Howard, who had a monstrous game, were able to get away 127:122. And even though Gilbert Arenas still hit some great shots, Orlando made the free frows and won the game.

This is their fourth straight win and this promises to be a great season if they can keep this form. Of cource, it has to be considered that they only one of the stronger teams in the league - Chicago.

"This one is for the fans, we had a tough game, Washington played well, but we played even better. We all can see what Dwight is turning to. Howerer, there are still many areas to improve, esspecially at the defensive end."

The Magicians - unbeatable? 5th straight win!

The Orlando Magic continue a great start to the season getting their 5th consecutive win, this time against the Seattle Supersonics (1-4, 15th in Western Conference, 5th in Division, on a 3 game losing streak) 112:93.

The game started off strong for Orlando, they got a solid lead right from the start and controlled the game.

Howerer, in the second quarter, thanks to great effort by R. Lewis and R. Allen, the game evened and Seattle were able to win the quarter by two
points and narrow the deficit to 8 points.

The third quarter cleared any doubts about the days winner. Orlando made a great run thanks to great defense and suddenly were leading by 20.

They didnt let the lead go in the fourth and were able to get another solid win.

The Player Of The Game:

D. Howard - 21 points (9/19 FG, 3/5 FT), 13 rebounds, 1 assist, steal and block.

"We played a solid game and were able to get the win. The defense in the second half was really good, I'm finnaly getting them to defend as I want."

Orlando suffer painful loss; winning streak ended

Orlando Magic suffer their first defeat of the season, being blown out in Indiana by the Pacers 86:115. Indiana dictated the pace of the game all the time and let right from the start.

The Pacers started strong and got a lead right from the start. They played a very strong first half, playing very tough defense and also good offense, being led by Jasikevicius, Daniels, Harrington and Jackson, who scored 51 out of 58 team points in the first half.

The second half started even worse for the Magic, they really didnt have a player that could pull a team in offense, while on defense they struggled to stop great play by Sarunas Jasikevicius (the irony) and Marquis Daniels.

After three Indiana was already leading by 40, even though J. Reddick came off the bench and gave the team some baskets.

The fourth quarter was just a formality, it was all clear, Brian Hill let his bench players play most of the fourth.

Player Of The Game:

Sarunas Jasikevicius - 24 points (7/16 FG, 1/3 3p, 9/10 FT), 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals.

Second straight loss marked with bad luck

The Orlando Magic fell short once again, this time against the Minnesota Timberwolves (4-2, 3rd in Western Conference, 1st in Division) 94:99.

The first half went better for the Magic, who, led by one of the bigger surprises of the season Carlos Arroyo managed to get a 5 point lead heading into the second half.

In the third, Orlando made some good runs, executed on offense and thus where able to build a double-digit lead heading into the fourth quarter.

It all seemed pretty clear before the fourth, but then R. Foyle began playing crazy, hitting fade-away jumpers with hands in his face. He also dished some good passes to M. James, who hit two clutch threes to help his team.

Arroyo, once again, wasnt able to hit the clutch shots and it cost them the win. M. James hit the free frows and the Wolves won their second consecutive, thus becoming the leaders of their division and going all up to the third spot in the conference.

M. James - 20 points (6/15 FG, 4/7 3p, 4/6 FT), 7 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals, 5 turnovers.

K. Bogans - on the trading block?

A source close to the team has reported, that guard K. Bogans (26, Kentucky) is on the trading block.

This is because, that, according to source, he isnt fitting into the Magic playing system and had a conflict with the coach recently.

Rumours say he might end up in Denver, Boston. It should be cleared up in the upcoming weeks.

I'm looking to add a guard for him, because right now on the bench I have Bogans, who really doesnt play well, besides maybe todays game, and Reddick, who is simply terrible on defense, so he can only be the third option off the bench. I would like a guard with better shooting skills, but solid at the defensive end.

And about the, maybe I should.

35 Arroyo points not enough as road trip ends with third straight loss

The Orlando Magig suffered their third straight loss, this time in Boston against the Celtics.

The greens took control right off, led by M. Olowokandi and W. Szczerbiak both scored 20 out of teams 51 points. Orlando were led by C. Arroyo, who scored 12 points and dished 4 assists in the first half.

The third quarter started off with Orlando trying to cut into the deficit and narrow the gap. But Boston played strong on offense and didnt let Orlando get closer. Not by a point. It was still a 10 point game after 3. In the end of the quarter Dwight got his 6th foul and sit the rest of the game.

In the fourth, Orlando, led by Carlos Arroyo, managed to get the game to 4 points, but thats as close as they got. Boston, thanks to some great clutch shots by Paul Pierce, won the game.

The Player Of The Game:

Paul Pierce - 24 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists.

"We lost this game, because we didnt play good defense. Thats how it is, they outscored us in all ways. We didnt catch all of their shooter, we didnt box out, it seems that when Dwights on the bench there is no one who could actually rebound the ball. On offense some players tried to do too much and it didnt work out. This is our third straight loss, we cant let this continue, we must make the right decitions, and fast."

The next game will be played at home, agaisnt the Denver Nuggets, who have been struggling so far this season.

There are new rumours, that Charlotte are extremely interested in K. Bogans servises and he could be heading there.

Sources say, that he could be traded with T. Battie for a really valuable player.
