76ers Hold off Denver in a close one 133-130
PLAY OF THE DAY

ImageImage
The first half was owned by the 76ers, they came out strong with a consistent double digit lead right off the bat. Rodney Carney got it going from deep, but Chris Webber was th real star. He was 8-9 field goals and 3-3 from the line with 19 points and also snagging 4 rebounds. The Answer scored 9 points and also dished out 5 assists, and plenty of ankle breaking crossovers to Denver’s star of the game Andre Miller. Miller has 15 points and 4 assists with most of his points coming off of lay ups. But the high man for the Nuggets at half is Carmelo Anthony. He has been scoring at will with 18 points off of 8-12 shooting. The downfall to that is his 1 rebound and nothing else statistically. He has been hitting the outside shot all throughout the first 2 quarters. The other AI Andre Iguodala hasn’t had a great first half. His statline is 0 points 4 rebounds and 2 assists. A surprise has been Louis Williams who has had 7 points so far and 2 dazzling dunks.

Halftime Report

The game started becoming very tight primarily because the 76ers had 5 team fouls very early in the quarter. The lead changed many times. Andre Miller was the star though scoring 15 more in the 3rd quarter alone going 7/7 from the free throw line. For the sixers, the main man was Steven Hunter who scored 8 in the 3rd off 4-4 shooting and pulling down 3 boards. The highlight of the quarter was Allen Iverson’s dazzling crossover between Andre Miller’s legs and capping it off with a nice finger roll over Carmelo Anthony. J.R. Smith started off the 4th hot making his first 3 attempts. Allen Iverson quickly picked up his 5th foul and sat on the bench. The Nuggets had a run stretching their lead to 109-105 with 10:15 remainig. Rodney Carney hit a clutch 3 with the game tied at 113-113 to put the 76ers up 3 with 5:27 to go. With 2:02 to go JR Smith made a clutch dunk to tie the game at 124 a piece. In the end the 76ers prevailed with the win. Allen Iverson came back in at the end, and knocked down some free throws to seal the game.
