Get Bucked! A Milwaukee Bucks Dynasty

Urgent Press Release: 2nd October 2005

Senator Kohl announced at 10am this morning that GM Larry Harris had stepped down to pursue head coaching positions. While Sen Kohl stated that it was a sad day for the club to see Harris leave, it opened the doors for a new chapter in Bucks basketball.

The position of General Manager would be appointed to a young Australian known as Ty-land. His history in contract management, international relations, politics and mentoring made him the perfect candidate to take this Bucks team to the next level. Coach Stotts put his support behind the young GM, believing he can help guide this team to the play-offs.

Ty's released this statement to the press shortly after the announcement:

I am very pleased to be appointed to this position. I think the Senator and Coach Stotts for their support. I would like to thank Larry Harris for the fine work he has done to establish the club up to this stage and wish him best for the future. I look forward to guiding this young team forward and establishing a winning culture in this ball club once again. Thank-you.

While the team roster is far from set, expect Ty-land to stamp his mark on this team early. While there is no trade presently on the radar, expect at least one major transaction before the season begins.

Maybe getting some real post presence to back up Redd? I like the 58 games... Feels long. Hopy you make it to the playoffs without getting bored.

Yeah, that is one option I am considering. The other is to fall in line with the small-ball trend that is occurring around the league. Get Ford to really run it, post up Bogut and then kick it out to Redd or Simmons.

I want to acquire a solid all round talent that can put up consistant numbers and is a decent defender. So we shall see who I can get...

Preseason Transactions!
12th October 2005

GM Ty-land announced a major tade at a press conference earlier today. The six player trade between Memphis and Milwaukee establishes the new direction of the franchise, focussing on a 'small ball' offence. The Breakdown of the trade is as follows:

Milwaukee Trade:

C - J. Magloire
PG - M. Williams
SF - J. Welsch

Memphis Trade:

SF - S. Battier
SF - H. Warrick
PG - C. Atkins

In discussing the trade GM Ty-land suggested that Battier would start at Power Forward for this new look Bucks outfit. Ty stated "This trade brings us an all round force in Battier, a young rookie with a huge upside in Warrick, and a dependable scoring threat off the bench in Chucky. I wish the best to Jamaal, Mo and Jiri at their new club, and I thank them for their professionalism."

It was also announced that the Bucks have released Jermaine Jackson, and have accordingly signed R. Lopez as a free agent. Lopez provides a young player with potential that can fit into the role of third string point guard.

Not bad at all. Who's your center now? Everyone is getting Warrick into their dynasty though. :|

You decided to go African with your assistant coach, eh? :)

Just updated so my roster line-up should be above

Yeah, I figured I needed another easy name on the dynasty. Supposedly he is the best Mozambique has to offer, he actually was their UN Ambassador but figured this position was much more lucrative

Haha nice one (Y)

Your starting 5 looks interesting. I wonder how's it going to stack up against the likes of Heat or Spurs.

I like your mix of young players and veterans. Don't make it too long to post a recap of the first game

Nice dynasty, pretty difficult with the Bucks.
The trade is on the one hand
cool: -you get Warrick, he ius da future man !
-you get rid of Welsch, just sucks imo

not cool: -Mo Williams and Jamal Magloire are way better than all three you acquired
-Chucky Atkins is old, Shane Battier has zero potential

I dont think its a good trade, but hey you got Hakim !!

Game 1: MIL @ MEM 28/10

Bogut Shines In Bucks Debut: 1-0 Start

The opening game of the season for Milwaukee was against the Memphis Grizzlies. This game had a huge atmosphere, focussed around the recent trade between the two teams, Andrew Bogut's debut and the return of TJ Ford from a spinal injury.

The Bucks opened the game with an 8-2 run, with Bogut getting 4 easy points. Battier was dominat early on the boards, hussling down 6 rebounds in the first term. The first half was tight, with both teams going shot for shot. Pau Gasol and Bogut were playing exceptionally well and were each teams respective players of the half.

Key Players at the Half

Bogut 12pts, 4reb, 2ast
Gasol 14pts 4 reb

Halftime Leaders

Points: Bogut 12, Gasol 14
Rebounds: Battier 9, Magloire 7
Assists: Ford/Bell 4, Cardinal 3

2nd Half
The game opened up after the halftime break, with Michael Redd finally hitting some shots, dropping 10 points in the third term alone. When Memphis point guard Mo Williams picked up a 3rd foul early in the second half the game seemed to slip out of reach.

Memphis went on a 10-4 run at the start of the final quarter, but the Bucks consolidated to hold the lead. Mo Williams returned to the game to hit a few big shots to keep Memphis in range, but TJ Ford stepped up keeping everybody in the game and getting the bench players involved.

Final Score:

MIL 99
MEM 85

Player of the Game:
Andrew Bogut
22pts, 13reb, 3ast, 2blk

Key Players - Milwaukee
TJ Ford 11pts, 2reb, 9ast, 1stl
Michael Redd 20pts, 3reb, 1ast, 1stl
Dan Gadzuric 9pts, 8reb, 1ast, 1stl
Shane Battier 7pts, 12reb, 3ast, 1stl

Key Players - Memphis
Pau Gasol 24pts, 19reb, 1stl
Mike Miller 21pts, 2reb, 1ast, 2stl
Jamaal Magloire 10pts, 11reb, 1stl

GM's Report

Great way to start the season with an away win. I was really impressed with Andrew and TJ, I never expected them to perform so well straight away. Hopefully this does not place to much pressure on them to put up these numbers consistently. Shane should the hustle and all around game that was the back bone for the trade for him. Hopefully he can be that consistant on the boards all season. Hopefully this is the start to a solid season.

Cheers!!!

It is actually a PC dynasty, but I'm not doing any screenshots at present. I live on campus at University and it's not cheap to upload/download. So at the moment I'm going to hold back on images, but maybe down the line I'll pull some out
