3C: The Knicks were once a premier franchise with very high hopes. They have every poyential to make other teams know that they are a force to contend with. Some where along the line their potential has not been realised, other teams in the NBA do not take them seriously due to easy victories from even some of the worst teams in the NBA and they are very well over the salary cap.
It is my job as the new GM to put NY Knicks back in its place as one the most consistent, hardworking franchises as well as take it below the cap space in the process and carry out a major recontruction on a team that seems to have little or no chemistry.
NY will start looking at trade options after the three pre-season games and will look to take advantage of teams that have the cap room to spare so expect a trade with teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls & the Toronto Raptors but to mention a few. Notice that these teams are either in the process of rebuilding, struggling and will need the all star caliber we are willing to offer in place of younger players that have smaller salaries and cash considerations.
Pre-season schedule and team roster will be posted as soon as possible & any of you that have any trade suggestions that you want me to consider, feel free to post it up but certain players remain untouchable including:
E. Curry
C. Frye
N. Robinson
Q. Richardson
J. Crawford

Thanks, I haven't seen any Knicks Dynasties so I figured I'd fill that void plus with NY's current record and cap problems not to mention the potential in Robinson & Frye I see this dynasty a very challenging one.

Schedule Type: 29 Games
Sim Quarter Length: 12 Minutes
Playoff Length: 3-3-3-3
Simulation Injuries: Yes
Simulation Type: Intervention: (I'll be playing every 4th Quarter game because I don't like how the CPU makes use of the bench when simulating)
Pre-Season Schedule
DET @ NY
NY @ CHA
SA @NY
3C: NY has a very interesting pre-season schedule. Its probably one of the hardest you may find around. We're faced with two of the toughest teams in the NBA which should be a real test for the team in all aspects (Defence, Offence, Team Chemistry) and should help Larry Brown in deciding who to start up when the regular season begins.
DET: The big men down low will have the daunting task of containing Ben & Rasheed Wallace. Both men will perform at both ends of the court and should be a test of NY's inside presence and defensive capabilities on the part of Eddy Curry and rookie Channing Frye. Marbury & Francis should be equal to the task of containing Billups & Hamilton because they too are as equal if not more of a threat. It is well known what they are capable of achieving despite the fact they will be leaving the Knicks during the regular season.
CHA: Emeka Okafor is the only problem the Knicks should encounter downlow but Curry and Frye should be able to contain him. Brezec may not be much of a challenge but Charlotte may look to hand him the ball if Mek is not open. I'll be looking very closely at the offense of both Curry & Frye as well. Larry Brown will be looking to start rookie Nate Robinson with either Jamal Crawford or Quentin Richardson. The Coaching staff and I will be looking particularly at Robinson seeing his more of an offensive minded PG not a passing one but Crawford's presence on the court may fill that void.
SA: Again the big men will be monitored closely to see how they perform against a big man such as Tim Duncan. Robinson will probably start at PG to see how he performs against well established guards such as Tony Parker & Manu Ginobili. Who will start along side him will be decided at a later date and will be posted before the tip off.
Pre-Season Roster
E. Curry/J. James/J. Butler
C. Frye/M. Taylor/M. Rose/D.Lee
J. Rose
J. Crawford/Q. Richardson/Q. Woods
S. Marbury/S. Francis/N. Robinson
Note: Expect Q. Richardson to see minutes at the SF position seeing we don't have enough depth at that position and expect S. Francis or S. Marbury to see minutes at the SG position to fill in the void that Q-Rich has left and see which works best for Larry Brown before both are traded. Starting line ups for all pre-season games will be posted before each game.

Good luck with this team. I like the fact that you want to give the rookies minutes, dont make the same mistakes the real knicks are making!

Thanks man, the only way the rookies will develope is if they play. Seeing that this happens is what I will centre my dynasty around. The mistakes the Knicks are making drives me insane seeing all the potential they have. But all this will change as soon as the regular season starts. I'll be looking at all possible trade options immediately. Thanks for watching Emiliano its been a while.

Thanks I wanted to play only 29 games because then the dynasty doesn't get boring and its easier to be giving accurate recaps

unlike when you have to do them for a full 82 games.

But thanks for watching.

Thanks, the reason I give the in-depth analysis of the games is I want to tell who ever is reading what is running through my mind as such they may be in a better place to help me especially with this dynasty. Thanks for reading.

NY 178-DET 163 (I may need to tweak my sliders a little bit. The score is a bit unrealistic)
The best way to describe this game is doing the right and wrong things. From the score above that was clearly the case. The Knicks surprisingly did all the little things (playing passing lanes, contesting shots, putting a body on each man, passing the ball rebounding etc) and the Pistons did all the little things wrong (out numbered on defense, foul trouble, frustration, too many contested shots, lazy defense). This team showed all in the NBA what they are capable of and come this regular season other NBA teams may start to look at NY in a very different light.
NY: Steve Francis was the Player of the game with a very good performance of 31 points and a career high of 18 assists. This went a long way in the Knicks offense and he will look to continue this sort of performance into the regular season. Jalen Rose led all players in scoring with 36 points and 6 assists. Prince did quite little to stop this vet from having his way on the offense but I also admire his 6 assists which this team needs to see more of. Marbury was by no means a dormant part of this performance and pulled away with 18 points, 5 rebounds & 4 assists. He pretty much did a little bit of everything which is very much expected of him (not just scoring). Channing Frye had a very nice game that has further increased the faith that all have in him especially on the defensive end coming away with 17 points, 6 rebounds & 7 blocks. Look for Frye to lock up the PF position and any PF that should come to NY via trade or FA signing will be his back up. Curry grabbed a double double with 14 points, 14 rebounds & 5 blocks. The Knicks were wise to trade for him and he has given them every reason with his performance to breathe easy. The guards and Rose did a nice job of moving the ball around which I think was key to our victory tonight. Frye and Curry did some reasonable damage at both ends and that is a force I would like to see (Long term wise) for the Knicks. The bench also played an important role in this this victory combining for 64 points, 13 rebounds 14 assists. This victory definately has done alot to boost the confidence of all players and they will be looking for a consecutive victory against the Bobcats.
DET: Detroit were previous NBA champions and narrowly missed completing that feat again last year have no justification for their performance. In the first 2 quarters, both teams traded baskets but in the last two the Knicks did a good job in getting them into foul trouble (Chauncy Billups had 5 fouls at the early stages of the 4th quarter and did not see any more action). They took, contested shots and seemed frustrated with themselves. Rasheed Wallace injured himself late in the 3rd quarter which did not help the team at all. He did leave the court with 14 points, 11 rebounds & 6 assists. Rip Hamilton led Detroit with 29 points & 4 rebounds, Ben Wallace pulled away with 22 points, 12 rebounds & 5 assits, Prince added 24 points & 4 assists while Billups scored 18 points & dished out 5 assists.
Note: The Knicks will look to start Crawford alongside Robinson in its game with the Bobcats.

but will tell you them if you ask.)
The Bobcats were more of a challenge than the Pistons (though some of you may find that insulting, but it was true). Trouble came from all angles whether it be from the inside via Mek and Brezec or the the perimeter via Felton, Rush & Carrol or from the mid range jumpers from Wallace even Knight was a problem (penetrating the paint and finding open team mates for shots). I think the coaching staff, team and even myself under estimated the Bobcats who too may be out to prove themselves this coming season. The Knicks beat the Bobcats by 13 points thanks to a late 4th quarter run. The Bobcats did well frustrating NY in the first two quarters even taking the lead at one point. The Knicks were in a bit of a jam when Curry left with an injury. But Frye worked hard downlow trying his best to contain Mek. Bottom line is the better team (NY Knicks) came out victorious at the end which is commendable for all involved.
NY: Crawford led the Knicks in scoring putting down 33 points and grabbing 2 rebounds. He was mainly an offensive force but other guards filled in the assist department of which he had zero assists. Franchise followed with a double double of 31 points and 11 assists which went a long way in keeping NY in the game prior to the 4th quarter run. Jalen Rose followed with 27 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds. I like his all around play which teams looking to acquire him will benefit from. Marbury played well off the bench coming to score 22 points and dished out 3 assists. Channing Frye's play especially with Curry's injury impressed everyone. He delivered with a triple double of 16 points, 13 rebounds and an amazing 17 blocks. 17 blocks went a long way in both slowing down the Bobcats offensively and also containing Mek downlow. Q-Rich followed with 13 points, Curry prior to his injury scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Robinson scored 9 points and dished out 6 assists. Not bad seeing this is his first start and he was up against a much more experienced guard. This game told the management a couple of things about the team. They include
1. Never under estimate any team in the NBA.
2. Frye with good training will be a force to contend with downlow, his triple double has told us that he can do it all.
3. Robinson will need to work on hitting open shots but his amazing speed gives him and edge over slower guards.
4. Curry and Frye seem to be the only defensive forces the team has and as such this problem will be rectified in the regular season.
All in all a good game and congratulations to the players and coaching staff.
CHA: Knight led the Bobcats with 32 points and 12 assists for a double double. Knight used his experience to outwit Robinson and this can be seen when you look at their numbers. Mek was a monster downlow as predicted coming away with 24 points and 13 rebounds. It was a bit harder to contain him with Curry's departure but as stated earlier, Frye did his best. Kareem Rush followed suit by knocking down 22 points for the Bobcats, Felton added 16 points and dished out 5 assists, Wallace prior to his injury added 17 points, Carroll scored 13 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 7 assists, May chipped in with 12 points and 9 rebounds while Brezec finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds. These are some pretty good numbers on the part of the Bobcats and if they can improve on them, they just may give other teams in their division a good run for their playoff spots.
Note: Larry Brown has decided he will start along side Robinson, Jamal Crawford and insert Marbury & Francis at different stages of the game and see which combination works best. Q-Rich may not even see minutes at the SG but may reside as Jalen Rose's back up till further notice.

This game could have gone either way as both teams did very good jobs on both ends of the court. The team that wanted it more obviously came out victorious. The Knicks lost the game to a buzzer beater on the part of Ginobili. Both teams went on scoring streaks at different periods of the game and there was even a battle of the PGs Parker & Robinson which was one bright spot on the part of the Knicks. Both nearly equaled each other in terms of points with Parker having the edge by one point but Robinson was seven more assists and a rebound more of Parker. The Knicks coaching staff learnt alot more about the players and what they have to offer on the court. Larry Brown finally figured out which set of Guards should be starting the games and yes Robinson is one of them. This will be explained in further detail below.
NY: Robinson had his best game of the preseason scoring an impressive 36 points, grabbing 4 reabounds, 4 steals and dishing out 15 assists (his first and only double double of the pre-season). Such a performance has told many what Robinson is capapble of. He used his speed to his full advantage out running defenders on the fast break, getting into the paint, finding open shots (he still needs to learn how to hit an open 3pt shot but coaches will work with him on that) and most importantly dishing out passes to his open team mates all of which impressed Larry Brown who has no doubts about starting him in the beginning of the regular season. Stephon Marbury has a very good performance the entire pre-season scoring 27 points, 3 steals and dishing out 5 assists. He is also the one who will start alongside Robinson when the regular season begins. As a result the Knicks will have a very fast back court which may lead to many fast break points, open shots and most importantly assists. Crawford scored 23 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 3 assists to end the pre-season. A nice performance from him and such is expected from him when the regular season begins. Frye was 3 rebounds away from another triple double pulling away with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 11 blocks. He is also becoming a big defensive threat that opposing teams should note when planning their offences if he can pull away with double digits in blocks in two consecutive games. Franchise put up a good performance coming off the bench to knock down 18 points, 3 steals and dished out 8 assists. Jalen Rose chipped in with 14 points, Q-Rich with 9 points and Curry with 10 points and 12 rebounds before he was injured which has been deemed not serious and he will be ready for the regular season. Knicks depite the loss ssem to have a nice chemistry on the court and are starting to understand eachother on the court. A good game from the Knicks but the Spurs left the court with the victory.
SA: SA pulled away with a very close game thanks to a late basket by Ginobili but it was the heroics of Parker that kept the game close even after the injury to himself late in the first quarter and an injury to Tim Duncan early in the fourth. Even Nick Van Exel was not spared an injury and left the court in the middle of the fourth quarter. Parker was the player of the game with 37 points, 3 steals and 8 assists. Manu Ginibili the man of the hour and buzzer beater put down 22 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists for the Spurs, Finely followed with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Injury only slowed down Van Exel in the closing minutes who prior to it scored 19 points (pretty good seeing he came off the bench). Bowen scored 14 points, Horry scored 13 points, Duncan scored 19 points and 4 rebounds, Mohammed was 2 rebounds shy of a double double scoring 10 points and pulling down 8 rebounds while Barry left the court with 11 point. Good numbers from a very good team and they will be a force to contend with in the regular season.
With the pre-season over, coaches have had a chance to look at their teams and should be in a better position to know what needs improving Larry Brown has certainly learnt alot from the three games played and will work with what he already knows to drive the Knicks to success.
Note: I'll be looking to change the format of my posts (in such a way that giving recaps are a bit easier for me and you the viewers will be in a better position to comment and make contributions) when the regular season begins.

Nice read dude, what sliders do you use? And are you playing 12min Q's? Oh and what skill level?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed reading my recaps. I'll have to get back to you on the sliders because I'm a bit pressed for time and yes I'm playing 12 minute quarters. I'm playing on All-Star skill level. I'm not sure if I'm good enough to play at Superstar skill level. Hope that answered all your queries (well besides the sliders but like I said I'll get back to you on that).
Note: I'll be looking to start the regular season today like I've said. I won't post any game action but just hirings, trades and possible signings, so keep reading.

NY's Hirings
I as the GM had a meeting with the team owner, I stressed the need to invest in younger potential (Robinson & Frye) if we are to make up for the losses of Marbury, Francis & Rose. I informed him of my plan to greatly reduce the $49.50M in salary cap. Though he may have the money to afford any player he so desires, I also noted that he hired me to take charge of this team and a corner stone of my policies when accepting his offer was to reduce the cap space which he had no objection too.
Traning camp was fast approaching and I needed to hire a staff, this was also discussed at the meeting for which he gave me $2.31M to hire an Asst. Coach, A Trainer & A Scout. This was a sizeable sum of money and I was looking to make the most of it and as such I hired not one but two Asst. Coaches, A Scout & A Trainer. Their details are as such:
Assistant Coaches
Name: Amory Wiggins
Grade: A
Speciality: Rebounding
Salary: $1.12M (2yr Contract)
Off-A+, DEF-A, ATH-A
Fortunately, we were the first and only team to offer him a contract and he accepted it after a short period of time.
Name: Walter Constantine
Grade: C
Speciality: None
Salary: $556K (1yr Contract)
OFF-D-, DEF-A, ATH-D
I feel he'll be a good assistant to Amory Wiggins and can help the team defensively while Amory focuses on offense and athletics.
Scout
Name: Blake Forth
Grade: C
Speciality: None
Salary: $518K (3yr Contract)
OFF-B, DEF-A-, ATH-E
I'll be looking to draft players based on their offensive and defensive capabilities (but most importantly I'll be looking at their potential) which was why I felt that Blake Forth would be perfect for the job.
Trainer
Name: Justin Baron
Grade: E
Speciality: None
Salary: $123K (2yr Contract)
I already spent alot of money getting two Asst. Coaches so Justin Baron was the best option.
Now that I had hired a full staff (to the team owner's delight), I'll put them to work immediately while I put forth trade proposals to teams previously mentioned. I will also post the team roster and will re post it after any trades have been made.
Starting Line Up
C E. Curry
PF C. Frye
SF J. Rose
SG S. Marbury
PG N. Robinson
Bench
PG S. Francis (6th Man and will start in place of Robinson or Marbury in the case of injury or trades)
SG J. Crawford
SF Q. Richardson
PF M. Taylor
PF M. Rose
PF D. Lee
SG Q. Woods

NY Training Camp
I was looking to improve the teams offense and defense and work on the team's athleticism when players start to show improvements on their offensive game. I had Amory Wiggins work with the team offensively and Walter Constantine work with the team defensively. They were significant improvements from key players as will be seen below:
E. Curry
FG +1
3PT +1
FT +1
Ins. Scr +1
O. Aware +1
Dribble +1
Steal +1
D. Aware +1
(Curry showed alot of improvement offensively and some improvement defensively but there's still room for improvement devefensively)
C. Frye
D. Reb +1
O. Reb +1
D. Aware +1
(Frye showed alot of improvement on defense but needs to improve alot on offense which will be the first task of Amory Wiggins)
S. Marbury
FG +2
FT +2
Ins. Scr +1
Dunk +1
O. Aware +2
Dribble +1
(Marbury improved substantially offensively, trading him off may not really be a problem but the problem lies with what NY will get in return.)
N. Robinson
FG +1
3PT +1
Ins. Scr +1
O. Aware +1
Pass +1
Steal +1
O. Reb +1
D. Aware +1
(Robinson improved offensively and defensively but he's still young and there's room for improvment)
J. Crawford
D. Reb +1
(Crawford improved only in defensive rebounding which still leaves alot to be desired, he did not improve in his offensive game he'll be the next assignment for Amory Wiggins after he finishes with Frye)
M. Taylor
FG +2
FT +1
Dunk + 1
Dribble +1
Pass +1
(Not bad for Mo Taylor, he has no defensive game whatsoever and he has a large salary which the team will be looking to rid itself of when they look for potential trades)
M. Rose
FG +2
FT +2
Dribble +1
Pass +2
(Rose thesame for Mo Taylor, large salary and no defensive game)
D. Lee
FG +2
FT +1
Ins. Scr +2
Dunk +1
O. Aware +1
Dribble +1
Pass +2
Steal +1
Block +1
D. Reb +1
(David Lee is showing alot of promise as seen in his improvements during training camp, I also like his attitude on the court which is why I've decided not to trade him. His hustle on the floor and his promise offensively makes up for what he lacks defensively)
Q. Woods
FG +1
FT +1
Dunk +1
Block +1
D. Aware +1
(Woods made some strides in both his offense and defense but he shall be traded as soon as possible for he still has a poor jump shot and though he's not the most expensive player on the team, the more cap space I can clear the better for all)
Q-Rich did not improve whatsoever and as such Walter Constantine will work with his game defensively and later in the season Amory Wiggins will work with him offensively. The Rest of the roaster (besides D. Lee who seems to show alot of promise of the bench) will be traded off for a stronger bench, younger and less expensive front court.
Trade Rumours
The Knicks have made every intention of cutting their salary cap this year and are looking to trade some big names including Marbury, Rose & Francis. Teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets & Toronto Raptors are possible destinations for these players. Something is definately brewing so keep reading to see what happens.
Note: If you have any trade suggestions with these teams please fill free to post them up.

Month of October
Trailblazers @ Knicks Preview
The Knicks have only one game in this month which is against the Portland Trailblazers. The Blazers will look to centre their offense around Zach Randolph, so look for Curry and Frye to double team him at most times. Przybilla will be starting at Centre for the Blazers though a defensive threat, he will not have much to offer on the offense. The Blazers have a backcourt of Sebatian Telfair starting at SG and Steve Blake starting at PG. Marbury will have to use his experience speed and strength to outwit his coussin Telfair though Telfair is fast his size makes him a liability on defense. Blake will look to shoot threes for he's not known for penetrating the lane. He will also have to use his experience to get past Robinson. Robinson on his part will have to use his speed and his knack for penetrating the lane to get past Blake. He will also have to move the ball around alot more than go for the open shot. The Blazers will look to their bench for shooters such as Webster and Lenard and also Skinner and Ratliff for their defensive capabilities. The Knicks on the other hand will look to Francis and Crawford for offensive sparks off the bench and Q-Rich for a good shooter. It is a little too early to tell who may win or lose this game as the season has barely begun but analysts are giving the Knicks the edge if they play their cards right if not look for the Blazers to walk away with the win.
Trade Announcement
The NY Knicks have traded Jalen Rose & Malik Rose to the Toronto Raptors for Morris Peterson. This trade was pulled through shortly before the game against the Blazers. Look for Q-Rich to start in SF and Peterson will come off the bench to back up that position. This trade gives the Knicks a number of things:
1. They are getting a younger player for an older one & Peterson is a very good shooter.
2. They are ridding themselves of M. Rose who played terribly (Pre-season) on defense.
3. They have cleared some cap room which is what they will be looking to achieve this season.
The Raptors also benefit from this trade too:
1. They get a vet in J. Rose who will provide some leadership for a relatively young roaster as well as much needed scoring if the Raptors are looking to make the playoffs.
2. They get M. Rose who will give them more depth in the PF position.
Other trade proposals have been made to various teams including the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics. If and once these trades go through their details will be announced as soon as possible. Also game action will be posted later in the day.
