Soliloquy
I was getting bored so I decided to post my dynasty. I did a fantasy draft, and through a few trades (Zach Randolph for Chandler; Kyle Korver for Mihm) I'm using the above roster. I've been playing only 1 game against each team, and simming the others. My record is now 16-1, and I'm getting the hang of playing so I may jump up to Superstar if I don't lose a few games. I'll do a recap of every game I play, with my own format, both pics and a written recap, and an idea I came up with: Song of the Game, which will be one of the songs I heard while listening to my iPod during the game.

F - Chris Bosh
F - Peter Robertson
G - Morris Peterson
G - Steve Nash

DENVER
C - Dale Davis
F - Al Jefferson
F - LeBron James
G - Jason Richardson
G - Tony Parker

Halftime
The first quarter ended with both teams tied at 20. Nothing special about this first quarter. At half time, Utah lead 46-41. Still not too exciting a half, although Lebron James was starting to heat up, hitting more then a few open shots because of a defensive collapse on Utah's part.

Stat of the Half
Utah - 8 BLK

Players at the Half
Utah - Chris Bosh | 10 PTS | 5 REB | 0 ASS | 6 BLK | 1 STL
Denver - Tony Parker | 6 PTS | 2 REB | 6 ASS | 0 BLK | 0 STL

Halftime Highlights
Image
1. Jason Richardson with the slam 2. Peter Robertson with the feed to Tyson Chandler inside

Halftime Soliloquy
It wasn't too exciting a half, but I do like Denver's playbook a lot. They use a lot of screens and my defense is getting screwed. I also switched from a Full Court Press to a Half Court Trap to try to get my players back as they were getting lots of fast breaks; I like the Trap better.

Fulltime
The third quarter began with Utah going on a run, using the fast break to their advantage. The few times Denver had players back they were forced to foul Utah as Utah was continually going strong to the basket. The quarter ended with Utah stretching their lead to 9, 71 to 62. In the fourth Tony Parker looked determined to bring his team back, scoring the first 6 or so points for Denver. In the final 3 minutes it was Lebron James and Jason Richardson trying to keep Denver in it, with both of them driving hard to the basket and James grabbing key offensive rebounds. With 56 seconds left Denver brought it to within 1 point on an offensive board and reverse lay-up by Lebron James. Two free throws by Nick Collison put the lead back to 3, but a dunk by Malik Rose and a floater by Tony Parker put Denver up by 1 with 39 seconds left. A pair of free-throws by Deron Williams and 6 by Steve Nash put the game out of Denver's reach.

Final score: UTAH - 102 | DENVER - 97
Boxscore

Stat of the Game
UTAH - 2/12 for .167 from the 3-point line

Players of the Game
UTAH - Chris Bosh | 16 PTS | 7 REB | 1 AST | 8 BLK | 1 STL
DENVER - Lebron James | 26 PTS | 6 REB | 0 AST | 0 BLK | 0 STL

Fulltime Highlights
Image
1. Tyson Chandler with the block on Jason Richardson 2. Malik Rose with the offensive rebound and dunk 3. Lebron James with one of his many open looks

Fulltime Soliloquy
Remind me not to throw half-court inbounds lead passes with Matt Bonner. The comeback code is killer. Why does the CPU not sub your starters back in at the end of the game? I finished the game with Okur, Collison, Bonner, Williams and Nash on the court.

Song of the Game
Crossroads - Rush
From the album Feedback (2004), an album containing solely covers, originally written by Robert Johnson in 1936 and made popular by Eric Clapton, Crossroads has a catchy guitar riff and poetic lyrics that make you just want to sing along. “I went down to the crossroad, fell down on my knees/I went down to the crossroad, fell down on my knees/Asked the Lord above “Have mercy now save poor Bob if you please."

Starting Line-ups
UTAH
C - Tyson Chandler
F - Chris Bosh
F - Peter Robertson
G - Morris Peterson
G - Steve Nash

LA LAKERS
C - Lorenzen Wright
F - Charlie Villaneuva
F - Pat Garrity
G - Joe Johnson
G - Jamaal Tinsley

Halftime
After going on a 19-9 run to start the game, Utah cooled off quickly as Los Angeles came back to within 5 to end the quarter, down 25-20. Utah's defense was pitiful near the end of the first quarter, lucky for them their fast break was working to perfection or they would have probably been down at least 5. Coach Sloan must have said something during the break that hit home to the Jazz because they came out strong in the second quarter and didn't stop until halftime. Score at the half: 53-36 for Utah. Luol Deng sustained a minor injury and will probably not return.

Stat of the Half
UTAH - 0 Offensive Rebounds

Players at the Half
UTAH - Chris Bosh | 12 PTS | 5 REB | 1 AST | 1 BLK | 0 STL
LAL - Jamaal Tinsley | 10 PTS | 0 REB | 1 AST | 0 BLK | 1 STL

Halftime Highlights
Image
1. Joe Johson hits the unlikely shot 2. Tyson Chandler with a strong finish over Charlie Villaneuva

____________________

Halftime Soliloquy
I need to start paying attention to the game rather then my iPod ... stupid podcasts. The second quarter was real easy for me, I just fast breaked the entire time, along with lots of defensive stops. I don't even remember the first quarter, I was listening to my iPod.

____________________

Fulltime
The third quarter saw Utah continue their run, only to have Los Angeles make a run of their own to get to within 6. Unfortunately for the Lakers, that's as close as they got as Utah finished the quarter strong lead with a surprisingly good quarter from Jarret Jack to stay up by 15, 78-63. Joe Johnson stepped up in the fourth and hit the open shot to bring Los Angeles back in the game, but it was Charlie Villaneuva with the hoop and the harm at 1:38 to put the Lakers up by one. After Utah and Los Angeles traded a couple baskets, Morris Peterson put the Jazz up by two with a key offensive rebound and lay-up with :52.7 to go. The only baskets in the final :40 were free-throws for both teams as Utah went on to win the game by 4.

Final score: UTAH - 104 | Los Angeles - 100
Boxscore

Stat of the Game
UTAH - 9 BLK | LAL - 0 BLK

Players of the Game
UTAH - Chris Bosh | 23 PTS | 11 REB | 3 AST | 4 BLK | 0 STL
LAL - Jamaal Tinsley | 23 PTS | 3 REB | 6 AST | 0 BLK | 3 STL

Fulltime Highlights
Image
1. Chrish Bosh is a Superstar on the offensive end; 2. as well as on defense as he gets back to block Jamaal Tinsley's fast break 3.Joe Johnson with the lay-up after a non-call

Fulltime Soliloquy
Another close game, damn that comeback code. I played the final minute with my dog wiggling on my lap; remind me not to do that again. Once again I wonder: why won't the CPU put my starters in during crunch time? I need to find out why the opposing team keeps getting open looks. Don't you hate it when you block someone only to have one of their teammates pick up the ball and slam it?

Song of the Game
Chebucto Head - Klark
You've probably never heard of Klark; they'e an up-and-coming Canadian talent. I heard this song for the first time on CBC Radio 3's weeky Podcast while I was playing, it's a pop/rock song that I liked. If you want to hear it, go here, it's the first song they list.

Injury Update

December 30th, 2005 - Luol Deng sustained a strained achilles tendon and will not be available for play for 6 days. Look for the starting line-up to change to compensate for the lack of a G/F on the bench.

I like the recap style. I also like the screens you've posted, it's always better when the screenshots show something interesting and noteworthy rather than simply being posted for the sake of having screenshots. I definitely prefer that approach. (Y)

Starting Line-ups

Halftime
The first quarter saw Utah fall apart, shooting a dismal .238 from the field and 0/9 from three range. This marked the first time this year that Utah was seriously losing, as Houston lead 25-14 after one quarter. It says a lot when Jarret Jack leads your team in points with 3. The second quarter was worse for the Jazz, if that's possible. Said Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, "If we want to get back in this game, we need three-pointers. With both Steve [Nash] and Peter [Robertson] in foul trouble, Matt [Bonner] needs to step up and hit the shots." If that's the case, Utah is destined for a loss as Bonner was shooting horribly for the half. Luol Deng better recover quick, because Utah's lack of guards is showing.

Stat of the Half
UTAH - 17 Fouls

Players at the Half
HOU - Kevin Garnett | 12 PTS | 4 REB | 1 AST | 0 BLK | 0 STL
UTAH - Mehmet Okur | 4 PTS | 4 REB | 0 AST | 0 BLK | 0 STL

Halftime Highlights
Image
1. What's this? A Glenn Robinson sighting? 2. Peter Robertson with a rare basket for Utah 3. Carmelo Anthony takes advantage of Utah's defense, or lack thereof

____________________

Halftime Soliloquy
Damn I suck. Shots aren't falling and I keep forgetting to go inside, although that may be a good thing with all my starters in foul trouble, the inside presence is now Nick Collison. Have fun Cable Guy :lame:

____________________

Fulltime
Third quarter: Utah sucked balls, they couldn't hit a shot; Houston wasn't doing anything spectacular, except watching Utah miss;end of story ... although the quarter ended with two three pointers from Morris Peterson, could it have been signs of things to come? Perhaps, as at the beginning of the fourth quarter, down 74-52, Utah came out flying, hitting their first 3 shot attemps, all three pointers, and the quarter continued this way, with Utah hitting most of their shots. Unfortunately, so did Houston, who went on to win by 17.

Final score: UTAH - 92 | Houston - 105
Boxscore

Stat of the Game
(tie) UTAH - 28 Fouls | 23 Turnovers

Players of the Game
HOU - Kevin Garnett | 22 PTS | 11 REB | 3 AST | 0 BLK | 0 STL
UTAH - Steve Nash | 14 PTS | 2 REB | 5 AST | 0 BLK | 2 STL

Fulltime Highlights
Image
1. Shots like this didn't help Utah, but what the hell 2. Once again Utah is denied a basket, this time it's not their fault though 3. Kevin Garnett with two of his 22 points

____________________

Fulltime Soliloquy]
The second half wasn't as bad as the first half, although I still lost. It always works that way doesn't it? You get in a hole only to start making your shots when it's too late.

Song of the Game
Switchblade - Maximum Rock N' Roll
Yet another CBC Podcast track, Maximum RNR sound a lot like the Rolling Stones but with a harder edge. Switchblade is fast song with a strong drum beat and loud guitar chords, with the classic rock sound. Find a link to listen in the archive.
