We need New Jerseys!!! DW's GOLD dynasty, ver 2.0

Postby AlwaysWhat,NeverWhy on Wed Dec 14, 2005 3:00 am

It's time again for the flagship of my dynasties to commence. I had scheduled it later, for about February, but considering the comp troubles that halted my GREEN dynasty in its infancy, I do believe it is time for the Gold one to start.

The surprise is that this year, it's not going to be about my beloved Warriors. I cannot stand losing in this game when I'm controlling Golden State. Maybe I should have gotten used to it the past 10 years    , but I just can't.

So, the star-team of this dynasty is going to be a different one, and one from the Eastern Conference at that. I'm not divulging any more info right now, but the team has been selected and I'll give it a few days to see if Ron Artest gets traded and where, so that I can update the rosters before I begin playing games and setting up the team.

So, do stay tuned, and any advice you may have regarding the format of this dynasty, please do feel welcome to post it here before I start.

:) :) :)

Maybe I would do that if the trade happened anytime soon. I guess I'll DB edit it in the dynasty when it actually happens.

Wow nice choice. Sent you a PM by the way, Weaver.

Thanks. Saw the PM and answered, albeit a bit late.

Why is it so unexpected, I wonder? Have I stated previously that I hate the Nets or something? They're not exactly my favorite team, not even my second one (Spurs!!!), but maybe they'll become my Eastern favorites when I bond with them through this dynasty.

I pondered on the Spurs a bit, but then again, that would be to easy. Plus I'd be feeling guilty when (if) I lost a game.

Have Fun with the Nets

I will. I hope you people will, as well.

Anyway, here goes. This year's BLUE dynasty, the New Jersey Nets.

The New Jersey Nets have hired their coaching staff for the 05/06 season, and the turnout was pretty good, although not perfect according to plan. The Nets were initially planning on signing 2 assistant coaches, one complimentary to the other, skill-wise, but budget limitations and turned-down contract offers foiled those plans. But nevertheless, the incoming staff members combine for a strong behind-the-court team. Here they are:

A one week long training regime would commence soon after the staff signings, and Assistant Coach Ziyadah( what a name! ), would approach it in the following manner:

The team would have the chance to work on athletic skills as the season progresses, so we thought about focusing on our assistants strengths for this inaugural training week.

Next Up: Player progression during Training Camp and, last but not least: THE FIRST TRADE OF THE SEASON.

Nope, VC is staying put. Let's just say that it's a trade that would go through in real life...

Nah, I'll keep teh jerseys, I may not like them, but they're the real thing and I like to keep things real...

Anyhoo, on with the story...

NETS AND HAWKS STRIKE DEAL

It was announced today, only a few days prior to the start of the regular season , that the New Jersey Nets and teh Atlanta Hawks have come to terms on a trade agreement that would see promising Center Nenad Krstic moving to Atlant along with experience guard/forward Lamond Murray, in exchange for combo forward Al Harrington.

Many media pundits n teh greater New York area questioned the departure of Krstic, a promising player playing in a positio,n in which it is hard to find new talent nowadays. But Rod Thorn and Laurence Frank both defended their team's choice, stating that Harrington's talent and inside scoring ability were without question and that he would prove to be the missing piece for the Nets to re-establish themselves as a dominant force in the East once more.

The Atlanta Hawks were looking to offload Harrington for a long time, in order to decrease the effects of their forwards bottleneck, and although Krstic is not yer at the level Al is , they hope they have found their starting Center for years to come... Murray was only added to the trade as a salary cap offset.

That's a nice trade...

Are you going to Start Cliff at the C and Padgett backing up the PF or Robinson backing up the PF and Collins or Jackson starting at C?

The title of this thread deserves a "boom 'tish"

Great trade for you man Thumbs Up ... so who will start at C? Collins?[/paste]

yes, I'll start with Collins. Both Uncle Cliffy and Marc Jackson are more skilled, but I need a traditional seven-footer clogging up the middle. But that's definitely the most 'rotated' position on the court.

I like to think so myself, thanks. At least in NBA Live.
