Head Coach's Opening Statement
Los Angeles having failed to secure a playoff spot has now turned to a new direction to ensure the dismal performance of the last season does not repeat itself and will make a few changes to their roster which will include the trade of Kobe Bryant for a younger superstar for the team to build on. All this will take place so that the Lakers can secure a playoff spot and make a solid playoff run.

Training Camp
During the training camp, the coaching staff felt it best to concentrate on the shooting of the team. They reasoned that the best defense is offense which I couldn't agree more with. Players such as C. Atkins, V. Waver and C. Mihm showed significant improvments in their shooting which was commendable. To my absolute annoyance, Kobe Bryant did not show any form of improvement whatsoever which has also gotten to the team owner...giving him another reason besides Bryant's attitude on and of the court to trade him.

The trades look nice, it'll give me depth in the front court and give me spark plugs at 1 and 2 should anything happen to Kobe...however I have one or two trades in mind...

Kobe Bryant for Tracy McGrady
Brian Grant and a player for E. Curry
Luke Walton for Luke Ridnour
I also want to make trades for D. West and sign another SG from the FA
These will give me a younger nucleus of players to build on.
Any comment?

Also T-Mac is taller and more likely to play a better defensive game than Kobe.

Trade Finalizations
Trades have been made that will give the team a younger bunch of players to work with...this was carried out especially for the long term future of the team.
Players like B. Grant, K. Bryant, S. Vujacic, D. George, L. Walton and others have been traded for players like E. Curry, T-Mac, L. Ridnour but to mention a few. I will post the former and new Lakers Roster ASAP. :D

Thanks for the compliments Emiliano. I would have kept Kobe too but T-Mac had a few things Kobe didn't. T-Mac plays more of a passing game and still is a consistent scorer while we all know Kobe is a ball hog and I need all players to score if I'm to succeed in this dynasty. T- Mac is younger than Kobe and is taller so he will have a better defensive game in terms of blocks and rebounds. But thanks anyways. (Y)

Lakers 113-82 Bulls
In their first game, the Lakers defeated the Bulls 113-82. T-Mac (POG) scored 33 points and dished out 13 assists. He has definately got to my good side and I will be running the offence through him. Curry in his first game against his former team scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Odom and Butler settled for 20 points and 17 points repectively. :D With such a result one can say that trading for T-Mac paid off.

T-Mac Was DA SHIT!!!

Lakers 97-82 Nets
The Lakers faced the Nets in their second game. Caron Butler led the Lakers to a 97-82 victory with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. T-Mac came with 22 points, 8 rebounds and seven assists. Curry and Odom came out with double doubles, Curry scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while Odom scored 15 points and grabed 10 rebounds. Another nice victory for the Lakers.

Yeah Emiliano...the trades paid off and paid off well. The Lakers will be facing the Hawks in their third game and I predict victory for my team. Not to worry. I'll post the results ASAP. :D

Lakers 111-86 Hawks
Odom and Butler chipped in 23 points each to bring down the Atlanta Hawks for the Lakers 3rd consecutive win. Odom came up with 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Butler came up with 23 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. T-Mac was by no means a dormant part of this game coming out with 17 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, dishing out 4 assists and recorded 3 steals. Al Harrington led the Hawks with 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. This brings the Lakers to a 3 game winning streak. The Lakers hope to extend that streak when they meet Iverson and the 76ers. Results for this match will be posted as soon as possible.

Lakers 87-85 76ers
The Lakers grabbed a narrow win over the 76ers which ended at 87-85. Webber did a good job of controlling Odom which I must commend. He limited Odom to only 7 points a season low for him but he also grabbed 14 rebounds a season high for him. Eddy Curry played with some consistency and scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Butler and McGrady went away with 14 points a piece. The bench combined for 25 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Not too bad a performance but I expected more from McGrady and Odom. Iverson led the 76ers with 19 points and 5 assists while Webber scored 18 points and grabbed a total of 14 rebounds. The Lakers are now on a 4 game winning streak and look to extend it when they meet the Suns.

Announcements

The team has recently procured a team doctor so as to help the players recover quickly from their injuries. This was done much to the pleasure of the team owner who commended my efforts in this venture.

The team underwent a training session to work on the overall defense of the team seeing that every member has a good level of consistency. Players such as Atkins, Curry, Waver and Butler showed very encouraging levels of improvement. Other key players such as Odom and McGrady showed levels of improvement much to my pleasure.

The team has sent scouts to look into three future rookies whom scouts have said have a high level of potential. The scouts will look into the offensive game of a C, SF and a PG. Results of their findings and more about these future rookies will be posted as soon as I get word from the scouts.

Lakers 88-99 Suns
The Lakers have suffered their first defeat at home in the hands of the Suns. Steve Nash was the architect of this defeat and led his team with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Jimmy Jackson and Shawn Marion went away with 23 points and 22 points respectively. The Lakers did put up a fight but the Suns was simply the better team at the end of the game. McGrady and Butler led the Lakers with 19 points a piece. Odom went away with 14 points and 9 rebounds while Curry continued with his consistent play and scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Lakers hope to make up for this loss when they face the Mavericks.
