"Calling The Best"

OKAY, I HAVE HAD ALL THE NBA LIVE'S SINCE NBA LIVE 2000. I ALWAYS PLAYED THE FRANCHISE MODE ( WHICH IS NOW THE DYNASTY MODE ) AND I HAVE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN ALL OF THEM. STILL WAITING TO FINISH MY PLAYOFFS WITH THE KINGS. I NEVER QUITTED, I JUST KNEW HOW TO PLAY. I HAD REGULAR ROSTERS, AND ALLL THINGS WERE REGULAR. I NEVER HAD A PERFECT SEASON. MY BEST SEASON WAS THE ONE I HAVE NOW. ( 63 - 19 ). I NEVER CHEATED. I PLAY REALISTIC. SO I AM LIKE A GREAT COMPARED TO THE REST. AM I LIKE ON THAT LEVEL. LIKE A HALL-OF-FAMER IS THEY WERE H-O-F AND LEGENDS. CAUSE I'VE WON 4 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN A ROW. NEVER LOST ONE. SO IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH TO BE LIKE ... ON THAT LEVEL. IF NOT. CAN YOU GREATS TEACH ME HOW TO BE ONE OF THE BEST LIVE PLAYERS EVER. TEACH ME YOUR TECHNIQUES AND STUFF LIKE THAT. AND HOW YOU WIN.

Please don't post in all caps. Thank you.

It depends how you measure greatness. Most of us can get pretty good records against the CPU (I was 64-18 in my Dynasty this year, just advanced to the second round a couple of days ago), but don't fare as well against human opponents.

I don't get an opportunity to play against human players very often, so I can't really say how good I am human vs human. I'm usually pretty successful against the CPU though.

If you're won titles in your Franchises in the last four NBA Lives with impressive records, I don't think there's much you don't know already about facing the CPU. If you're looking for further challenges, maybe an online league is the answer.

i was quite successful vs the pc using andrew's sliders and on superstar...so let me give some hints...i use the playbook to call plays i feel suit my team and the players on it, and try to use a motion offense with lots of cuts and stuff like that. i throw it in the post a lot since, for some reason, that's when the other players move around most frequently. i make a lot of passes and try to get the easy basket. i try to adapt my style of play to the team i have...eg, if i'm the rockets, it's pick and roll galore with the franchise taking it all the way (shooting or dishing), hitting the open jump shot, or passing to the open Yao Ming (who takes it to the rack or shoots the open jumper). If I'm the Kings, I call plays like Flex and don't have one person hog the ball (like I would have Francis or AI do)...I also try to run the break as frequently as possible...easy baskets...but i know when to slow it down.

on defense, the most important thing to do IMO is to protect the basket and to defend the post. i call lots of double teams, 2-3 zones (careful against teams like the Mavs and Kings who will absolutely scorch this zone with their sharpshooters). if you don't have good defending big men, call double teams every time he gets the ball and play rotation defense. even if i do have someone like big ben, i'll still call a double team a lot of the time, then have the guy back off, especially if i'm leaving someone like reggie miller wide open. it's just my style, but i prefer to take less risks and defense...i don't go for steals, just keep my man in front of me. hope some of this helps.
