the Double R's Clippers Dynasty

Postby Ruff Ryder on Thu Feb 19, 2004 10:01 am

I'm starting a clippers franchise. So far I'm 5-1.

82 games
9 min quarters
Superstar
Andrew's Sliders, with a couple of Modications

I made a few transactions at the beginning of the season. This is what my roster looks like.

Roster:
PG-Flip Murray
SG-Q. Richardson
SF-Corey Maggette
PF-Elton Brand
C-Stromile Swift
..:Bench:..
Chris Wilcox
Rafer Alston
John Salmons
Eddie House
Melvin Ely
Smush Parker

We split the first two games with Seattle. Won against Denver and against Atlanta.

I played Atlanta and slaughtered them. I can't recall the score but we won by like 30.

Brand was player of the game with 24 points and 17 rebounds and 7 assists.
Flip Murray was close to a triple-double with 13 pts 11 assists and 9 rebounds. He had a tough shooting night though.

We beat Golden State and Orlando.

I played the Cavs today.

It looked like a blow out in the first quarter. We were up by 22-8. They came back and I had a 5 pt lead heading into the second. It stayed close through the second as I was up by three. Lebron dished out 8 assists in their 1st quarter comeback. He finished with 11 by the Half. I couldn't seem to get any offense, as I had 3 guys tied with 10 points at half time.

In the second half Stromile stepped it up. He cought the ball in the post multiple times and slammed it in. But for cleveland, the man-child stepped it up. He hit at least 5 threes in the 2nd Half. He couldnt miss. I dropped back into a 3-2 zone but they were relentless. They got the score tied up in the 3rd at 72. It kept close until the fourth. Flip Murray stepped it up scoring 16 points in the second half. We beat them 119-103.

Cavs:
Lebron-26 pts 11 assists
Kedrick Brown-22 pts
Jeff McInnis-7 pts on 2/15 shooting

Clippers:
Flip Murray-26 points 4 assists
Q-Rich-20 pts 6 assists
Brand(POG)-14 pts, 21 rebounds

I think I'm gonna start playing every game now.

Next up-(5-5) Pacers

Played a couple more games. I won both.

Indiana-100 LA Clippers-115

This was close throughout the entire game. I struggled a little through the beginning but was able to win. I had a hard time scoring against O'Neal but I took full advantage when he left to get a breather. They were stupid and tried to put Al Harrington on Brand. Brand went to work mostly in those sessions. Miller bombed away with a 3 at every oppurtunity, tallying 26 pts. I also out rebounded them 47-34.

Brand(POG)-25 points 8 rebs 6 asts
Richardson-25 pts 4 rebs 3 ast
Maggette-20 pts 10 rebs
Flip Murray-14 pts(5-18 fgs) 8 rebs 13 asts

IND
Artest-29 pts
Miller-26 pts (5-9 from 3pt)
O'neal-16 pts 9 rebs

T'Wolves-90 Clippers-120

This game was also close, well throughout the first quarter anyway. I broke away up 30-21 to end the 1st. From there It was a blow out. Maggette it 3 wide open 3's. He was near unstoppable. Minnesota wishes they could say the same about the Big Ticket. He had only 7 points and 4 rebs in the 1st half. I lead at half time 65-45. KG went scoreless in the 3rd, mainly do to foul trouble. I went on ahead and crushed them. They outscored me 28-25 in the 4th but as they say "too little too late".

Clippers

Brand(POG)-20 pts 11 rebs 4 blks and 4 asts
Maggette-27 points(3-5 from 3) 6 rebs 3 steals and 5 ast
Q-Rich-19 pts (3/4 3pt)
Flip Murray-19 pts 13 ast
Stro-12 pts 10 rebs

22/22 from the line as a team.

Minnesota

Sam Cassel-19 pts 10 ast
KG-13 pts 7 reb 5 TO
Olowakandi-8 pts 13 rebs

Clippers 113 Rockets 105

This game got out of hand quickly. Mainly because my mom was yelling at me, but I started down 11-0. I had a hard time scoring against Yao. I fought back toward the end of the quarter, but was still down 29-17. It just got worse in the second, as I ended up down by 15 but Maggette kept me around. Every time Houston's big man left the game, I went to work. Midway through the second, I hit pause and noticed that Mobley had 19 pts. I was pretty mad. Every time I missed a shot, Houston got a rebound, plus a quick outlet pass and then a pass to (usually) Mobley for an easy two. I just couldn't run with them. At the Half I was down 56-43. The Cat had 25 pts at the half!!

In the third, the slaughter continued. I ended up down by as many as 19. I had to fight my way back. I outscored them in the quarter 31 to 23 which brought me within 5. I managed to tie it up twice in the 3rd, but they broke away both times. In thr 4th I began my run. Maggette was big down the stretch, and Q chipped in. Richardson scored 19 of his 25 in the 2nd half. Maggette went on and tied the score with under 2 minutes to go. With 58 seconds left, Maggette stole the ball and got a break away dunk whivh got our lead to 3. We held on and pulled it out from the free throw line. I got everybody on the scoreboard.

Clippers

Brand(POG)-22 pts 14 rebs 5 blks 4 stls
Maggette-(in my opinion the real POG) 27 pts(6/6 ft) 7 rebs 2 stls
Q-25 pts
Swift- 10 pts 12 rebs.

Rockets

Mobley-43! points
Francis-13 pts 14 ast
Yao-16 pts 9 reb

Clippers 131 Nets 93

I don't remember much about this game. I lost the paper I wrote the stuff on. I remember RJ couldn't miss. He was on fire.

Brand 22 pts 14 rebs

Nets

Kidd 19 pts 5 ast

K-Mart 14 pts 10 rebs

Clippers 108 Nuggets 82

This game started close, but I quickly broke away. I was up by 8 at the half. I went on ahead and beat them. Melo had a hard time getting his game on, but in the 4th he came out gunning. Too little too late, though. He hit 3 threes and finished with 20.

Clippers

Brand(POG) 22 pts 10 rebs 3 blks
Q-22 ptd 7 rebs
Murray-19 pts 7 asts

Nuggets

LOL  I cant remember why now. Probably had something to do with my little sister, who always gets me in trouble.

Clippers 109 Spurs 88

It was close. In the second anyway. It seemed they didnt want to go to Tim Duncan. When he did get warm, I doubled him. I switched to a 3-2 zone with the SF on top in the second quarter. It rewarded me, as I was able to overmatch the PG's and get some steals. In the second half Ginobili was tearing me apart. He hit a bunch of threes in the third. It seemed like he couldnt miss. I had hands in his face almost the whole time but he kept making them. I was able to withstand the charge, as I outscored them in the 2nd Half 62-40. Thats how I ended up winning by 21 pts.

Clippers

Maggette-19 pts 6 rebs 6 ast

Clippers 123 Cavs-103

This one was a blow-out from the tip-off. I quickly got up 7-0 in the first. I extended the lead and was up by as many as 17-5 in the first. They attempted to climb back and got the score within 9 at the end of the first. Q finished the quarter with 5 pts. Why is that significant, you ask? Keep reading.

I kept the onslaught on. The second quarter was pretty much the same. Q decided he wanted to test his 3 pt range and went 6/7 in the quarter. He had 20 pts in the second, and 25 at the break on 7/9 from 3.

The Cavs tried a comeback in the 2nd Half on really hot shooting from the whole team. Mainly it was McInnis. Since I was up, I decided to see how far I could go with Q-dog. Mainly, since the Cavs post were in the paint and my posts threw it in, when my posts came up the floor I had them set picks for Q and launched 3's. He missed a few open looks. James played well for Cleveland in the 2nd half. Him and the rest of the team were able to shoot almost 60% in the second half.

Clippers
Q-50 pts!! 10/17 from 3(Career high and 1st 50 pt game of the season, POG) 7 rebs and 7 ast.
Maggette-20 pts

I think I made all of mine at the beginning. I may trade for a C or PF because I signed Tyrone Hill, who isn't a real good defender.

Another update coming soon. I'm just too lazy.

Maybe Dalembert. I may just try and build Melvin Ely up into a decent center.

Have you ever considered taking over coaching/GM duties for the real Los Angeles Clippers? Seems they could use your expertise.

I don't think they'd appreciate being shown up by a kid.

Clippers 119 Jazz 94

I came into this game expecting it to be a blowout but it didn't start out the way I expected it to. The Jazz were able to keep it close, throughout the 1st anyway. I finally was able to run and brak away. Stro was a beast in the first quarter with 10 pts and 5 rebs. He also denied Utah a few times. All the work made him tired, as he sat half of the 2nd quarter.

Maggette also got some open 3's and was able to convert. I didnt get alot from Brand because I didnt want AK47 to be swatting him the whole time. Brand got loose in the second half though. Q got hot and once he gets hot, IT'S ON!!

Clippers 117 T'Wolves 94

We started out pretty hot. Unlike expected, Brand kept taking it to KG. He grabbed rebounds and was a beast in the post. He rejected players numerously and on one possession, denied layups 3 times. Flip also was hot, as he hit 5 3's and dished out a few assists. Maggette had a great passing game as he dropped 90 cents, 9 dimes for yall who dont know what that is.

The Big Ticket turned it on in the 2nd Half. Mainly in the 4th. We held him to single digits in the 1st half but he had 15 in the 4th. Spree also started hitting from deep.

I can't seem to lose anymore. I'll have to do some work on the sliders, because I make every possession count and I own the boards with Brand.

Trade Rumors

There has been some talk in trading to get Walter McCarty. The GM of the Clippers reports he may trade Tyrone Hill and maybe a guard. Waltaaaaaaaah brings firepower off the bench and an outside game to compliment. His 6-10 230 lb frame makes it able for him to play any oof the forward positions, also allowing for a big Lineup with Salmons at SG. He needs some work on his D though.

This is just a rumor, so it may not happen.

I'd pull the trigger on that one. Hill is probably a more bruising defensive player, but McCarty has a better offensive game (and should be able to play adequate D).

Clippers 130 Kings-117

I played the Sac-Town queens the other day(forgot to post it). It was fairly close at the start, with Peja plying pretty good. The queens launched a bunch of 3's and hit alot too. I had Flip to counter, as he had one of his best shooting nights from the field and downtown. He kept us in the game answering numerous threes. The queens got a lead but I managed to fight back. It was a fairly highscoring game, as the score reflects. Stro was a beast on the inside, sending back invalid posted mail and on the offensive end. Everytime Sac brought in a sub for the PF or C, I got my big guys the ball and they went to work. The queens even brought in Songaila to try and deal with Brand, but he got demolished.

It remained close as Peja kept the queens in the game. We held him to 13(i think) points in the 1st Half but he came out with his guns loaded as he fired away from 3 pt land. Peja hit 7 3's in the game. We managed to pull it out in the end.

Clippers welcome Waltaaaaah McCaaauty

The Clippers announced that they sent Tyrone Hill and LaPhonso Ellis(signed from FA) to Boston for Walter McCarty and Brandon Hunter.

LAC-129 DAL-110

The Mavs started out hot, as Finley shot lights out. We couldn't stop him at all in the first half. I didnt want to switch defense assignments so I just turned the pressure up. It didn't seem to work too well as he knocked down J's over the D. We were out rebounded through the first half and had a hard time converting shots. Corey Maggette finally started giving us O. It was close throughout the 1st, as we were down 34-32 at the end of the quarter.

In the second, Dallas built a couple of double digit leads, getting up by as many as 17. Finley stayed Hot and finished with 25 at half time. We were able to get out and run a little bit, for some nice stuffs by maggette and murray. We made a late run at the end and Maggette hit a 3 with 2 seconds to go and we went in feeling revived, only down by 3.

In the 3rd quarter we started down 64-61. It stayed close, but Finley cooled down some. This is where 'toine stepped up. All of a sudden, he is hitting jumpers and dunking on us. He was only 1/7 from 3, though. We got the lead twice in the quarter, and closed it up by 1. The 4th was just crazy. Brand went to work and Stro had a couple of baskets at the end. Walter had one of the top plays, where he stripped the ball from nash on the inbound, and flushed with a reverse baseline slam. We outscored them 41-23 in the 4th.
