Jazz froze the American Airlines Center as they beat the Mavs, 106 to 105.
The game started by the Utah’s 8 consecutive points. The Mavs can’t get anything to go. Looks like a déjà vu, huh? After their first timeout, they rushed back with their own 6-0 run. But they are still struggling as they finished the first quarter with 0/5 beyond the arc. After the first quarter, the Jazz led by a point.
In the second quarter, the Jazz was still breezing with their 10-2 blast. The Mavs played poorly in the 2nd with their 2:40 drought. It comes to an end by their first three pointer of the game by Jason Terry. Slowly but surely, the Mavs found their offense back, but the Utah responds in every single point they made. At the half, Utah soars with their 13 pt lead. Mavs finished the half getting 2/11 from downtown and 0/5 at the charity stripe.
Coming in the third, it was the old same story as the Utah protecting their lead at 16 with 5 minutes remaining. Jason Terry and Matt Carroll, the shooters in Dallas’ bench, finally awakened as they started a 10-3 spurt as the quarter ends. The Utah was still in control, 84-72.
In the final quarter, the Mavs quickly capped a 5-0 run. The game was 88-81 Utah with 5 minutes remaining. Nowitzki, Terry, and Carroll don’t want to give up yet as they keep their team in shouting distance. It became 96 to 90 Utah with 3 minutes remaining. It became a 3 point game at 96-93 with 2 minutes left. The Mavs was still trailing 102-99 with 40 seconds remaining. As they give up their foul, it was Ronnie Price who will shoot his first free throws at the night. Miraculously, he made both shots. On the other end, Nowitzki nailed a hurried 3 to keep it a two point game. The Mavericks are desperate to give up fouls, but are still hoping there will be a chance to win. With 3.8 seconds left, they should have fouled the worst Jazz free throw shooter. But they did not make it happen as they desperately fouled the best Jazz performer of the night, Kyle Korver. Korver made both free throws to make it a four point game. As the final seconds expire, Nowitzki made their last 3 pt shot to make it a 1 point game. Nowitzki’s 34 point effort was not enough as the Jazz hold on to win by a hairline, and broke the heart of Mavericks’ fans.

Shame about the loss but you did a pretty decent job of coming back from a deficit all the same. Good luck in your next game!

Haha, for that, they should owe me some for being a good advertiser!

Yeah, that's why I still feel playing real basketball in Live 06; sometimes Im pretty perfect in free throws, sometimes I just can't knock down a single shot!

Maybe Cuban became overexcited when he knew that Deron is out.

It is ok, no worries.
Damn that "Korver guy", Dirk will surely get back on him the next time we would face.

Glad that you visit here, Andrew.
Thanks, I believe that as long as the final buzzer still not ringing, there is still hope to win.

Don't worry bout it, there are 56 more games to come plus the playoffs. Many more chances to be correct. Maybe we underestimated a Deron-less Jazz team.

you're actually starting to make me root for Nowitzki, nice
have you tried Gooden at starting Center? just curious; his younger legs might be advantageous over Damp

Blah, most of my prediction so far hasn't been all Dirk as of yet so I think I still have a chance although I might go bias and put everything Dirk in every prediction so that you will always use Dirk and me always correct in my predictions

Not yet tried of that, i think he is undersized for C, but might as well try it for some games!

Tough loss. I too just got my butt handed to me by the Utah Jazz. Though you came closer than I did. LOL.
Recaps are good, keep them up.
