I think the Raptors are quite fun to play with. Personally I took the Mavs cause Im a bit of a fan but they are not sooo cool to play with (thats what I want to turn around) since you can score easily with your stars and have no real balance.

So Ive won the last game against the Sixers with no problems 96-85 behind a triple double of Jason Kidd. I barely have triple doubles with anybody .. honestly I only remember one since playing 2k .. where I had a triple double with Kirk Hinrich. So Im glad that Mr. Triple double can also do it for me He had 14/10/12 I think.

We are currently on a season high 4 games winning streak with Josh averaging around 28/6/4 and hitting 9-18 from 3pt.
Next game will be the Grizzlies who are only two games behind us. With 17-15 we are third in the Southwest division. I lost both meetings so far this season and hope that just like against the Clippers we can finally come up with the big win.

Tried changing some sliders that some have stated increases drive and dish plays. While I do see some drive and dish plays now, it just made inside scoring too easy and I have blown out the last two teams. Although, I was setting my practices for mostly offense, which could be why I was knocking shots down easily.

Made a few lineup changes to my Clippers.

Traded Ricky Davis to Minnesota for Corey Brewer and Mark Madsen
Traded Vladamir Radmonovic to the Heat for James Jones
Traded Marcus Camby to the Warriors for Stephen Jackson
Traded Corey Brewer to Washingotn for Andre Blatche and a '10 1st Round Pick

Currently 5-3, second in the division to the Lakers.

I hate Stephen Jackson's signature jumper. I don't understand the timing at all, but I still hit them.

You mean tweaking the 'fancy pass' slider? It gives some draw&kick thats right and I like how the CPU does not always score on those layups. But youre right, I noticed that I scored above average in the paint the last games after changing some sliders.

Finally won against the Grizzlies. It was a hard-fought game ending 88-83. Josh and Dirk pretty much shouldered the load. Mayo and Gay were jacking up 30 threes which really annoyed me so I stopped using the 3-2 zone which I find effective so far. After that the CPU made some good plays but just could not stop Dirk. So Im at 18-15 and a 5 game winning streak. I hope this continues.

Oh yeah and Barea injured his belly and is out 2-4 weeks which is pretty bad since I play Terry more on the two guard spot than on the PG. Antoine Wright will find his way into the rotation. Well see what he brings.

My record is now at 34-8 as a result of an eight game winning streak, with my latest win coming against the Los Angeles Clippers. After I finished that game, I offered Ray Allen to the Clippers for Baron Davis. They countered with Davis for Allen and my first round pick in the 2010 NBA draft. I accepted the counter offer, but, Ray Allen wouldn't waive his no trade clause. Therefore, no Baron Davis for me. Oh well. My next game is against Atlanta. Oh, and I forgot to mention this before, but my record against Chicago in Association Mode on NBA 2k9 is 0-5. I lost all four games against them in Season 1, and I'm already one down against them in the regular season series in Season 2.

I also tweaked the help defense slider down to 0 and lowered play passing lanes. Last two games were down to the wire. Against the Thunder, they started the game off 37-22, knocking down a bunch of open 3's, I improved my defense every quarter enough to get within 2 points with 2.2 seconds left in the game, but couldn't get a shot off fast enough to tie. Next game against the Heat, I got lucky. Up by one, with 2.6 left, I pull my defender off the inbounder to help contest the last shot. The pass goes to Chris Quinn, and the inbounder cuts to the basket. Quinn attempts a real quick pass, but for some reason Dwyane Wade was moving over to the wing and got in front of the pass which hits his shoulder, and Stephen Jackson recovers it for my team. That would have been a game winning dunk.

The Clipps ended my 5 game win streak with a tight win that was surely secured due to their hard work on the glass. I have problems grabbing defensive rebounds all season long.
I bounced back with a win vs the Knicks. Had 7 guys in double figures but imo Jason Kidd was the dominant player. Gerald Green had 21p mostly in the 4th when it was all over but it shows his talent. I dont know wether or not he has future on my team. Hes an offensive weapon, but lacks anything else. Well see.

i started an association with miami heat, with 12 min quarters, now i´m 3-0 before the first game i traded mark blount, marcus banks and 09 1st rounder to dallas for Josh Howard, so my lineup was like:

C:beasley/haslem
PF:marion/haslem
SF:howard/marion
SG:wade/chalmels
pg:chalmels/quinn

i`ve exprienced some problems again the knicks on inside, but beasley shoot a wonderfull 10/10 FG 2/2 3pt FG so i won
again the kings i was struggling inside with all players, but wade made it scoring 90% of my points of 1st quarter, on second always i pass the ball to wade it was instant double team, so i just drive inside an the kick it to howard who nails a open 3, hes got 10/17 3pt FG on that night so i win

before the charlotte game i made a 3 team trade that loked like this:

Marion to TOR
livingston to TOR
Bosh to PHO
Amare to MIA

i think this trade involved a couple of picks and scrub players but i dont remember
with STAT on my lineup my team become a force inside versus the `cats amare had 29 points with 10/16 FG and 1/1 3pt Buzzer beater that wins the game for me, the last 30 sec were just weird with double team on wade and howard my best 3pt shooters, so go inside with wade kick it to howard who makes a pumpfake and passes it to amare in the corner,he shoots an open 3 and its done 102-101, now i`m going to play again the philly, elton brand has ben a monster for them averaging 29 ppg and iguadala is leading the league in rebounds (?) with 11 per game

EDIT: just remember that the 1st trade involved James jonas or jonas james, i forgot his name

His name is James Jones :) Quite a good shooter but nothing else. I think Toronto got a little bit raped on that trade. You and PHO got a franchise player each whilst Marion is a classic sidekick and Livingston a solid talent coming of a huge injury. Josh Howard is a nice player, I love to play with him.

Had an exciting match against the Suns. Amare was out with a shoulder injury. Nice game with all facetts, shooting, defense, inside game etc. Shaq dominated the game with 18pts and 20 boards. We were down by 10 in the 3rd but ended the quarter strong: with 28 secs left after a Steve Nash missed free throw Jason Terry came up and jacked up a three so that the Suns cannot play down the clock. He hits it. After another miss by the Suns JT uses the last 4 secs to run down the court and hit another three to end the quarter with six points in 28 secs.

In the 4th it went up and down. Tied and 99 Nash ran an isolation just like he did the last time we met the Suns. And he again went to the line with 4.9 secs left. Just like the last game, I really felt like damn. But this time he only hits one FT. I take a timeout and pass it to Dirk in post. He takes the leaner and hits it And1.
Unfortunately I could not hit the FT (I was just too shaky ^^) and thus with the game at 101-100 for the Mavs the Suns take a timeout.

2.9 secs left. They inbound it to Barbosa (who has been hot the whole 2nd half) and he hits it with Stack all over him ! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 101-102 loss.

Now we are 19-17 ... up next the Kings. I want to win this game after 2 straight losses !

toronto is got a huge expiring contract, and before i traded marion he already decided to test the free agent market, so now they can go for 2010 free agent market, and this season they are 15-3, even i have a worse record (10-8) they starting five is

c- j oneal
pf- bargani
sf- marion
sg-bonzi wells(they got him from the FA)
pg- calderon

going back to my games, tought losses against SAS and NOH on my trip, and after a few wins (NJN,POR(i got lucky on this one),WAS) 2 losses again toronto, marion and oneal were both beasts on defense getting 4 blocks marion and 5 block oneal(on the other was almost the same) despite wades 40 on first and 34 on 2nd we lose both games, after i just simmed some games before realizing that the lakers had all the team edited to min rankings, they were my practice team (i was wondering who i didnt see kobe on the top scoring list and went to see lakers stats and they`re averaging 50 ppg on 12 min quarters) so i will restart my association, downloading again RR4 to have the sure that no player has been edited(by me)

I am now riding a 21 game winning streak in my chise as I prepare to play the Bulls. I just played the 2010 All Star game and the Western Conference won it by a score of 109-98. Kobe scored 37 points in that one. Chris Bosh and Lebron James each scored 22 points for the Eastern Conference.

oh that sucks. Wish you good luck with your new association :)

I won against the Kings. Took the game way too easy after we had a 20 point lead in the 2nd and hell yeah the Kings came back. The game went to OT!! But I totally controlled the game in OT and won by 10.
After that I played the Nuggets. We were 0-2 this season against them but with Billups out injured and Nene handicaped by a broken nose I thought we may steal a win from the mile high city. But Melo came up big with 36 points 10 boards and 5 assists to make it 0-3 for the season.

Just exactly what happened to me. Also blew out the Rockets. Also started with Bass as sixth man but it does not really make sense since he just doesnt see to many minutes. So I changed Terry to sixth man and started Stack .. the minutes are parted well now imho.

Well I played two games and we managed to win against the Hornets and the Jazz, both at home. Really important games and Dirk came up big averaging 32 points and 10 boards in those two games. Kidd had 16 assists against the Jazz, Deron Williams topped him with 17 dimes. Was a nice fastbreak-orientated game. I really like that I have 5 scoring options in Dirk, Howard, Terry, Kidd and Stack (in this order ;) ). And Gerald Green really can step up at times, same goes for Devean George who scored 7 very important points against the Jazz.

Devean George is the best. That is why he wasn't traded for Kidd last season. :)

As I said in my dead Association thread, I started a new one with the post-trade Suns, very very fun to play with them.

I'm two games into the season, winning against both, the Spurs and the Hornets.
I simply love Amare on the offensive end, he can dunk over people as well as hitting the 20 foot jumper. I think I scored 28 with him in both of the games.
JRich also scores very well for me.
Shaq won't average much more that 5 points and 6 boards this year, but he's very valuable for me due to his defense. The AI abuses the post anyway, so I'm glad I got a pretty good defender in there.
I love Barbosa coming off the bench, he's an unbelievable scorer, he made some incredible layups in traffic. If I only knew his jumper better, I kinda miss many open shots with him.
Talking bout missing open shots: Grant Hill. The other stars on the teams often draw double teams, Shaq sometimes gets doubled right out of the box, then Grant Hill is very often the open player, but I can't hit shit with him. I already put him on the trading block.

I find Hill still valuable but I seem to be one of the only. Having problems with the Sig Shot is something special though. In other areas of the game he is quite good. He shoots well (if you like his Sig Shot) and he can also drive to the hoop. Hes an okay rebounder. I have Devean George who is just like Hill imho. Decent backup SF :)

Phoenix is cool. Even with Amare out in one game they rooted me in both .. 0-2. I hope that I can beat them in the next game. Nash drives me mad with his shooting and passing.
And hell, Shaq can do more than 5/6 ... he had 18 and 20 against me. Hes a decent scorer in the post and a monster when hes right under the basket.

That's what I meant with the AI abusing low-post scoring.
Tim Duncan, in an exhibition game - not the one in my Association, had 21 points in the first freaking quarter because they just passed him the ball in the post, regardless if someone is in the passing lane or not. Always an easey two.

Really ... ? With my sliders its quite difficult to score in the post. Did you download the patch? Backing down is very difficult with some players with the patch. Further Shaq was more scoring putbacks on me since I had problems on the defensive glass in the game.

It got better with some slider changing. Sure scoring with an opponent on your back is quite difficult, but when they or you get the ball in the post with no defender on your back you can just flick the shot stick and the animation starts, which is usually a layup without any collison.

Anyway, I just had a thriller against the Blazers. I had the lead 95-94, 20 seconds left in regulation. Steve Blake somehow got an open three which he swished. So there I was, 5 seconds left down by two.
I planned to give Amare the ball, he was hot all night, but unfortunately he was set to inbound, so he probably wouldn't have gotten into a good positions with just 5 seconds remaining.
So I got it to Jason Richardson, who had only like 8 points until then, he made a running shot over Fernandez at the buzzer to tie the game.
JRich went crazy in OT, he hit 2 threes. We completely iced them in overtime, winning 109-103.

Just like my game against the Kings some posts ago. Needed a buzzerbeater to make it to OT and then just stunned them.
Your Suns are so stacked. Would love to have the guys off the bench you got.

Well I lost to the 76ers ... quite bad since I owned them a week before but it was different at Wachovia Center. Never got into the game, neither on offense nor on defense and lost by 20 ..

Hey Guys, i have finally gotten used to playing 2K9, considering starting an association story here, but having a hard time deciding what team to use...any suggestions?

Teams in Consideration (In no particular order)
Houston Rockets
New Jersey Nets
Miami Heat
Washington WIzards
Oklahoma City Thunder
Memphis Grizzlies
Orlando Magic
Los Angeles Clippers
Chicago Bulls

Other Suggestions are welcome, just not these teams: Denver, Boston, San Antonio

Cheers

I think playing with the Bulls is entertaining since you have much talent to play with and you have to do deals in order to get your not satisified players out of town.
The Wizs are interesting, too. I like Butler and I loved to play with Jamison in 2k8 (had him on my Bulls squad).

I lost to the Bucks. Im just annoyed by this damn road trip. The game was realistic and very nice to see Redd going to the line frequently and not missing a shot (12/12 I think).
Jefferson and Bogut came up big also. Dirk had his first monstergame of the season scoringwise giving me 40 (3-4 3pt).
But well its just like in real life. Those road trips are damn hard and the Bucks edged me pretty easily 104-110. I have to play the Pistons on the road next and I just hope that I dont loose again after PHI and MIL ... but actually those two were peanuts compared to the Pistons. AI was injured but is expected to play.

Thanks for the suggestions...i've finally narrowed it down to these 4 thanks to the input...

Washington Wizards - Whenever i use the Wizards i score around 50 points with Arenas...i donno what i am going to do with him on the inactive list for 2 months...
Chicago Bulls - My all time favorite team, but really dont want to play a team with a pg franchise player...
New Jersey Nets - VC, Yi, Harris is fun, but again, dont want to go PG ownage..
Houston Rockets - love using the Big Three of T-Mac, Yao, Artest..Especially Yao, what's holding me back is that this is already a championship caliber team...thats the reason why i am not even considering using teams like the Lakers, Cavaliers...

hum...what should i use...

Sit: Your team is Seattle Stealth! not the UGLY Thunder  but alright, i'll leave the Durant ownage team to you (Y)

Wiz, Bulls, and Nets all have 'ownage PGs' :P

I would go with Bulls since they are your favourite team :P Then you can tinker with the roster as you wish.
