Last news
The coach of the 76ers had realease the 2006 playoffs starting five. They will continue playing with two strong man inside the paint, two small fowards (kwok how is a SG and Green) and with a rare PG (Iverson). Also he left outside the roster C.Williamson, N.Hammonds and M.Jackson (Inj).

C--Dalembert
PF--Howard
SF--Kwok
SG--Green
PG--Iverson

Injury report
The 76ers will lose M.Jackson for some games as he got a sprained ankle (2 weeks). Team Doctors say that he would probably miss the first round due to the injury. Now this left the 76ers with only one true Center (Dalembert) this will bring some troubles the players start the rotation. We will see how the coach arrange this issue.

Playoffs Preview

Western Conference
Sacramento [61-21] vs Minnesota [43-39]
"The Sacramento Kings have a clear advantage over the Timberwolves. They won the season series 3-0. They got the first win on the road with a powerfull 13 points lead. At home they won with a 19 point lead. On the 3th game they took the series on the road with a 11 point lead. This will be an intersting match up. K.Garnett is the big man in Minnesota but P.Stojakovic is leading his team with a impresive 23 PPG. There will be two key match up to look after. C.Webber has to stop K.Garnett in the paint and the Timberwolves has to dry Stojakovic."
Prediction = Sacramento in 4 games

Denver [48-34] vs Memphis [46-36]
"This will be the best match up in the West both teams took 2 games and they play similar. Denver is in the back of Anthony where he goes Denver follows if he can lead in scoring they have a great opportunity to win the series. On the other hand Memphis is doing a "All team efford" every small guy is contributing to the team. The key match up will be between Anthony (21.8 PPG) and M. Miller. If B. Wells (the player with the less PPG in the starting five of Memphis) can stop the Anthony production they can realy on the other guys. Memphis has to take the advantage with M. Miller that is scoring big for the Grizzlies."
Prediction = Denver in 6 games

San Antonio [48-34] vs Phoenix [47-35]
"The spurs has the clear advantage over the Phoenix Suns as they lead the season series by 3-1. The only game they lost was by 1 point. They key match up will be between Tim Duncan and S.Marion. If the Suns can stop Tim Duncan (22.7 PPG 12.3 RPG) they can get the series but also the Spurs have to defend S.Marion 19.8 PPG and B.Bowen is the man to look after. The two teams have similar record during the season but the Phoenix have the impetu as they won the last 5 games in the regular season."
Prediction = Phoenix in 5 games

Dallas [54-28] vs Seattle [45-37]
"Dallas was able to get a 2-1 during the regular season (they game lost was by 2 points) but this Sonics can be more trouble than they think. If the mavs what to make it to the 2nd round they have to let Dirk Nowitzki (22.5) take the scoring lead but the Sonics have some advantages they have two big players that are scoring big for the team R. Lewis and R.Allen both with more than 20 PPG. Can the mavs stop the production of the Sonics as they did during the season? Well that will be intersting."
Prediction = Seattle in 7 games

Eastern Conference
Philadelphia [67-15] vs Indiana [38-44]
"The Indiana Pacers have the toughts job in the NBA. How can the 8th seed of the Eastern Conference with a record of 0-3 in the regular season can stop the Offensive of the 76ers?? Well that why they are here. The 76ers have won all the games against the Indiana Pacers but not by a large margin (the bigges is by 11 points). The problems for the 76ers will be 3. First to stop the big man of Indiana J.O´Neal 20.1 second to stop S. Jackson 18 PPG. Now we all know that W.Green and Iverson aren´t really defensive player but if they combine them self they can shout him down. The 3rd but not the less important is rotation time. In almost all the games lost by the 76ers they done a bad job in rotation the players. Some days ago with M.Jackson injury the Pacers could get at least a win but with the add of J. Beasley and the soon recover of Jackson there is no way the Indian pacers can win any game The key match up will be J.O´Neal and Howard that will be a good matchup to follow. We all know what happend when the 76ers forget to include Howard production on the paint. They lose."
Prediction = Philadelphia in 4 gemes

Miami [47-35] vs New York [39-43]
"Miami won the two games at home but lost on the road against the Knicks. The Miami heat have a big advantage..clues?? Shaquille O´Neal the most toughest Center in the NBA have revived this season and became they leading man for the Miami Heat. With 24.5 PPG and 12.9 RPG will be really trouble for the defence of the Knicks. But the knicks are doing things as a team and they enter the playoffs after a hard season. J. Crawford with 20.6 PPG will be the man that take this team on his back. There is no way V. Baker the player with the most Fouls in NY can stop O´Neal on the paint. No way. If the knicks want to take at least 2 games and force a 6 game they have to doulbe Shaq."
Prediction = Miami in 4 games

Boston [54-28] vs Orlando[40-42]
"This will be the most intersting battle as the Celtics got 1 game out of 3 against the Magics. They lost both games at home but they got a win on the road. Boston have P. Pierce that is scoring 23.8 PPG and have take the Celtics to another level. They was the most improved team since the half of the season. On the Magics side C. Mobley is scoring big for the team with a good 21.1 PPG. But there are some trouble for both teams the Celtics have two players injured (A.Jefferson and M.Blount) and they dont know if they are going to be ready for the first round. Orlando has a bigger trouble as G.Hill is injured and doctors said that is very posible that he will miss the first round. So they key match up will be between the guards P.Pierce and C.Mobley both have score big for the team."
Prediction = Boston in 7 games

Detroit [58-24] vs Charlotte [38-44]
"The Pistons have a clear advantage over the Bobcats as they lead the regular series by 3-0 they manage to get the Bobcats under 80 points in two games. The Bobcats are getting things done bacause their guards are having some good looks into the basket L. Hughes and D. Stoudamire score 18 PPG. But the Detroit Pistons have some strong men inside the paint. Both Wallace will represent problems to the offence of the Bobcats. Also Richard Hamilton is getting more than 20 PPG. There is no way the Bobcats can run after Hamilton and get on time to defend Wallace. If the Bobcats want to get to game 5 they would have to play excelent basketball."
Prediction = Det in 5 games

1st Round comparison
"Now we take a deeper look at this two teams as he see thair stats during the regular season and what they were able to do when they match up."

1st Game- 3 Dec- IND 83 [7-8] @ PHI 92 [9-6]
The first game was played early in december with the 76ers with a positive record against a trouble Pacers. The 76ers took a lead that the Pacers where not able to top.

Situation: The 76ers have just traded Andre Iguodala and K.Thomas for Nelson and Howard. Both players did not play against the Pacers.
Important things during the game: Both teams have a horrible 4th quarter not due to defence but poor offence. The 76ers were 29% FG and the Pacers 26% FG
End of the Game: The 76ers were able to get a .408 FG% but the Pacers were just under them with a .407 FG%. In the 3PT situation the 76ers had bad looks from beyond the arc and came with a poor .167 3TP% (4-24) one of the lowest 3TP % during this season but the Pacers wheren´t good they also came short with a .105 3Tp % (one of the lowest % allow by the 76ers). In the FT the Pacers came first with a great .778 FT% and the 76ers came with a .533 FT%.
Bench: The 76ers killed the bench of the Pacers with a 34 pts lead by the 12 point of K.Korver. The Pacers only score 9 points comming from the bench with 6 points from W.Korolev.
Players of the Game:
PHI-Udonis Huslem 28 pts (.778) - 10 rebs (5 OR) - 2 stl
IND-Jermaine O´Neal 30 pts (.773) - 14 rebs - 5 blks

2nd Game- 13 Dec- PHI 102 [13-6] @ IND 99 [7-13]
"Ten days after the first win over the Pacers the 76ers face them but this time on the road. The Pacers were in a 5 straight game lose but the 76ers were in a better situation with 4 straight wins. With a small lead that was almost top at the last quarter the 76ers were able to ge the second game."

Situation: The 76ers had Howard out again because of a back spasm and the Rookie S.Lake was as starting five in the SF position
Important things during the game: The 76ers start holding the Pacers to a poor 13 point in the first quarter.
End of the Game: The 76ers FG% (.462) was toped by the Pacers shooting .489 FG%. Again the Pacers shoot a poor .273 from beyond the arc but the 76ers got a average .421 (7-17). In the FT the 7e6rs got a great % with a .733 but again the Pacers got them with a .769
Bench: Again the bench of the 76ers were at the top with an impressive 42 points (lead K.Korver 18pts) while the Pacers got a 16 point comming from the bench lead again with W.Korolev´s 10 points.
Players of the Game:
PHI-Allen Iverson 18 pts (.727) - 11 ast - 7 stl
IND-Jermaine O´Neal 35 pts (.772) - 15 reb - 3 ast

3rd Game- 23 Dec- PHI 109 [16-7] @ IND 103 [8-14]
"The 76ers face the last game against the Pacers with a 3-1 since last time while the Pacers had a 1-1 record. Both teams played had but the 76ers took the lead of the match up with a 6 point lead."

Situation: The 76ers again with a big lost. Samuel Dalembert was out in the first 9 minutes. This was the only game that Howard played against the Pacers.
Important things during the game: The 76ers had a great 2nd quarter they were able to stop the offence of the Pacers under a 38% from the field while they offence got the advantage with a good 62 FG%.
End of the Game: THe 76ers came with the best offence in the FG% (.489) and 3TP% .500 while the Pacers got .469 FG% and .348 3TP%. In the FT situation the Pacers came first with a .833 FT%. For the 76ers they got .421 FT%.
Bench: The 76ers bench had a excelent night and came with an impresive 67 points lead by 23 from E.House. On the Pacers side the bench was dry and came with the lowest against Philadelphia (6 pts) by W.Korolev.
Players of the Game:
PHI-Allen Iverson 14 pts (5-7) - 11 ast - 6 stls
IND-Jermaine O´Neal 22 pts (11-19) - 12 rebs - 2 blks

Final Conclusion
For the Pacers:
-Keep O´Neal with the offence rolling. keep going to the paint where the 76ers are more vulnerable
-Start to made the 3TP attemps if you can force the defence of the 76ers to get outside O´Neal would have a better chance in the paint
-Start to produce comming from the bench. Stay with W.Korolev he is doing a good job

For the 76ers:
-Put Howard to defend O´Neal when he was able to play agains the Pacers he got O´Neal to reduce the points in the paint with 22 in the last game
-Keep the bench roll´ all the year they were on top. They are the best bench in the whole NBA. If they can get to produce agains the Pacers bench they can get the wins
-Allen Iverson got to keep the assists. He got a 11 ASP against the Pacers. Keep the offence on the hands of Iverson and things are going the good way

Philadelphia vs Indiana
D.Howard vs J.O´Neal

What you think of this match up? Sounds that 76ers are not clearly better than the Pacers...
