Watch a match we might get today with Dirk returning to the Dallas team which he left, The Mavs will be hungry for Revenge as well as a few Pistons, The Pistons have made some Moves in there line-up which could possibly make or break the game, should be a ripper can’t wait. 3PK’s predictions 85-81 win for the pistons.

Pistons starting 5
C- R. Wallace
PF- D. Nowitzki
SF- J. Howard
SG- R. Hamilton
PG- C. Billups

Dallas starting five
C- E. Dampier
PF- K. Van Horn
SF- T. Prince
SG- R. Murray
PG- J. Terry

Dirk and Wallace Combined for Cyclone like effect :!:

Summary
In dirks rematch He scored the 1st points of the match from a great Billups set up. The pistons then got going and Wallace and Dirk weren’t going as to plan, Until Billups helped out getting Wallace going but ex-Mavs star Nowitzki was really off touch. But Obviously Billups was going to lend a helping hand getting them both hot and giving the pistons a 7 point lead into the 1st break with Billups doing the most damage with 8 assists.

As the second started the Pistons were to trial there new bench, although it wasn’t quiet clicking the Pistons where playing great defence to keep there slim lead in tack. Then ‘B.B Carp’ found his touch from the arc as he started feeling it and destroying the Dallas zone, but Terry kept the Mavs in tact going mad as he jacked up three pointer after 3 pointer from the outside. Although after hitting two consecutive three pointers he was able to reduce it to just one point at one stage. Then the duo retuned as provided exactly what the pistons were looking from the two, points and boards ensuring the pistons had a 7 point break at the half.

Players at the half
Pistons  D. Nowitzki 18 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 Block
Dallas:  J. Terry 8 points (2-8 from 3-pointers), 1 rebound and 1 steal

In the second half the pistons offence where great actually brilliant and the Mavs had NO answers the pistons almost looked like they were playing a division 2 college team. Dirk and Rasheed where having the time of there life inside getting easy buckets and involving starters and bench players. As The pistons went ahead 68-55 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The last began and Detroit where after humiliation not stepping back at any stage. As Dirk, Billups, Webber and Nelson Finished strong to give pistons another crushing win. They dominated play until Terry got a 10-0 run going to reduce it to 6 (73-79) but then the pistons held them scoreless for 3 minutes and in a Simply over-powering match the Mavs where blown-out. [91-73]

3PK’s Game breaker:

First of all thnx everyone for posting Comments and supporting my dynasty nothing more i love then being credited and complimented for my work. Now to your question Webber will not be frustrated and annoyed because now he is a Solo focus on Offence where as he was of almost no-way involved in the starting 5 offence, this is also a valid move due to Webbers experiance, along with Mourning to help out the Future Pistons stars. Webber will also like the move because this is his first double figure scoring match since returning from injury and only his second of the season. :D

THat's not as easy as you think. It is impossible to get a good console pic. I've tried, and failed.

Anyway, this is great! I can't wait until 2010 when all the players are too old to be good, and you need to rebuild.

Tuesday 13th December Detroit@ Toronto

Preview
Both teams have explosive offences and this should be a great match look forward to it. The Raptors will have to shut down both Wallace and Nowitzki for the win though, one would imagine a impossible task but if they can don't count them out. The pistons are large favourites and therefore 3PK’s Prediction is pistons win 87-77

Pistons starting 5
C- R. Wallace
PF- D. Nowitzki
SF- J. Howard
SG- R. Hamilton
PG- C. Billups

Toronto starting five
C- C. Bosh
PF- L. Beatty
SF- J. Graham
SG- M. Peterson
PG- T.J Ford

Nowitzki Dominates inside as well as Webber and Wallace but was it enough
:!:

Summary
In the first quieted the crowd and played a slow tempo strong defensive game. The Raptors then Tried a different mix putting Ford on the pine and Playing Dixon at PG, But Chauncey had his number stripping him and giving the pistons a 15-8 lead. Then Toronto started playing a quick game but Detroit rapidly adjusted and at the and of the first had a 29-15 lead after a complete dominance in the 1st quarter.

In the second quarter the pistons kept the game slow and frustrated Toronto into errors. As Webber was a lone force at the other end. After the pistons took a 40-21 lead Rasheed and Dirk re-entered and dominated, Billups also largely contributed scoring, assisting and stealing well. This giving Pistons another Blow out quarter and Giving them a 26 point lead 53-27

Players at the half
Detroit  Chauncey Billups  4 points, 2 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals
Toronto  Chris Bosh  10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block

In the 3rd the pistons were continuing where they left off simple dominating everywhere and playing much more superior to the Raptors, It was all good new until Richard Hamilton drove and what occurred is yet to be identified but appeared serious. Regardless the pistons had a great 3rd quarter from which they were able to take a 30 point lead [76-46]

In the last there wasn’t much to say, Webber dominated to see the pistons break out to a 40 point lead. Although the raptors fought back and reduced it to 30 until Wallace and Nowitzki came on and embarrassed the Raptors on there way to a crushing 105-74 win.

3PK’s Game breaker:

Solid Win against the Raptors, I see what you mean about Billups 8-) The way you advertised the game was sort of like the George Mikan thing.... The other players aren't that bad  (Of course, I don't believe you were suggesting that but with the results of the game, Bosh looked like the only player on the team  ) still love your Quarter-by-Quarter Recaps (Y)

Edit: just a suggestion, made you could include Box scores to help us get the feel of the game even more (if it isn't too much for you)

Fri Apr 20, 2007 6:30 pm

Reply
I probably won't do box scores because it's too much work and considering to do a recap and play the game takes about 2 hours i just can't add another 15 or so mins 2 it soz :( , but i will also add a notable players mini-section and dissapointments mini-section to give you more of an inside into the match (Y)

Phoenix Starting 5
C- A. Stoudemire

SG- R. Bell
PG- S. Nash

Pistons go down to wire and are left to contemplate there loss:!:

Summary
The pistons went firing early taking a sudden 7-2 lead and forcing Mike D’antoni to use an early time-out. Then Nash set to task playing a quick tempo game to give Phoenix an 11-7 lead. Both teams played exhausting offence and neither team had a defensive answer as the teams stayed head-to-head until we reached the 1st break at a score of 23-23.

In the 2nd neither team played a good passage of early offence giving pistons an advantage due to there undermanned and low scoring bench offence although Phoenix broke put to a 27-23 lead after 2 minutes of play. But then Phoenix and Detroit went on a scoring frenzy and both teams wouldn’t hold back. Everyone was producing there best basketball as it went score by score, until a late Suns run saw them take a 42-41 half time lead.

Players at the half
Detroit  Dirk Nowitzki 13 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist
Phoenix  S. Nash 9 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block

As the 3rd quarter started both teams where playing great defence and neither team where executing there first half offences. Then it became a bucket for bucket concept until after a long quarter Dirk hit two consecutive three pointers to put the pistons up 56-51 just over a minute away from the break. Once again both team had a great finish to make it a 16 point combined last minute to send a great match into three quarter time with the pistons up 64-59.

In the last the crowd gave the Suns an edge as they gained a 1 point advantage to lead 67-66. Both teams switched leads 15 times as they went bucket for bucket no-one was prepared to give in. The pistons then got a short break of 3 points on the suns who kept fighting and quickly regained the lead with 2:50 left and extended it to 4 when Rose drilled a clutch 3 pointer with 2 seconds left on the shot clock. The pistons then got three defensive misses all to be shadowed out by Stoudemire dominate offensive boards as the Suns took a 87-81 lead with 30 seconds to play. As Nash hit clutch free all the pistons could do is watch the suns win 88-84 as they contemplated there first loss of the season.

3PK’s Game breaker:
Amare Stoudemire  The suns big man dominated the pistons lack of size as he went on his way to a dominate double-double which included 20 points and ten important boards in which 7 where offensive

 Dirk Nowitzki 42 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist
 Steve Nash 19 points, 7 assist, 1 block and 2 steals
 Chauncey Billups 5 points, 1 rebound, 12 assists and 3 steals

Rasheed Wallace also chipped in with 14 points and 8 rebounds as well as a good effort from Rose and Bell as they both dropped 16

tough loss against suns, but you would've known that it was going to be a hard game. Amare seemed unstoppable with all of those offensive rebounds.

glad to see that you havent really slowed down with the consistency of updates. it is still going strong and you seem to be growing in popularity (Y) now your goal is to go 28-1

Yeh i just can't wait to see the Suns in the playoffs if i do now i need revenge, I'm not sure if i noted this in my recap but on 3 consecutive Suns possesions in the lastt minute i gave up a offensive board to amare which resulted in 7 points probably the differance in me winning and losing my goal is still to make the playoffs though and this is just a reminder i shouldn't get cocky at all (Y)

Monday 18th of December Philadelphia @ Detroit

preview:
The pistons have suffered there first loss of the season to a strong Suns outfit. The pistons now have had a few days rest and are back at the palace to face a developing and growing 76ers unit. Webber will have former Team-mates to contend with but I don’t think that will stop Webber from turning it up. 3PK’s prediction: A blowout Pistons win 92-79

Pistons starting 5
C- R. Wallace
PF- D. Nowitzki
SF- J. Howard
SG- B.B Carpenter (Richard Hamilton injured)
PG- C. Billups

Philadelphia Starting 5
C- S. Damelbart
PF- J. Briggs
SF- A. Igoudala
SG- K. Korver
PG- A. Miller

Philly Travel to Detroit just to fall 26 Short, But was the Win worth it as the cost was.......

Summary
Early the pistons always knew that it wasn’t going to be there hardest match and as predicted there came out strong, scoring quick baskets although the 76ers where ensuring it wasn’t a blow-out contest getting themselves back into the game to be trailing by just 2 points after 3 minutes (11-9). Detroit then got a but of help from the crowd as they went on a rampaging run to lead 21-13 just before Josh Howard got injured to put pistons down to just 8 men. This did not discourage the pistons as they once again found there touch and took a 29-20 lead after 1 quarter of play

In the second the pistons struggled with a tired under-manned line-up against a rejuvenate 76ers side which where able to reduce the margin to just 5 points when Dalembert converted a big 3 point play (26-31). Until a windmill mourning dunk and a big B.B carp 3 sent the pistons to a 36-26 lead in which the crowd where going crazy. The pistons then found form from this as they took a massive 53-31 lead at the half.

Players at the half
Detroit  C. Billups 8 points, 1 rebound, 9 assists and 7 steals
Philadelphia  S. Dalembert 8 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

In the 3rd Turkoglu ht a three to start proceedings of as the pistons kept enlarging there lead. The pistons then kept the lead in the 20’s until late in the 3rd quarter they were able to take a 30 point lead 71-41. The pistons where relentless and by the time the 3rd quarter ended the Pistons had a massive 78-49 lead.

In the last it was a low scoring boring match as neither team wanted risk injury so they played benches. The 76ers made inroads late, as Miller went on a frenzy but it was far too late as the pistons achieved there biggest win of the season 100-74 a disgraceful effort for Philadelphia.Although it wasn't all luck for the Pistons as Howards last second block has done what looks to be a possible serious injury, the pistons will have to do scans to identify the Problem.

[Status on the injury at bottom of post]

Friday 29th December San Antonio @ Detroit

Preview: The Pistons now face a Strong starting Spurs Outfit going in without star recruit Howard. The Pistons and spurs will both battle strong inside and the winner of points in the paint could be the team to win the match. Both teams have solid defences so this should really come down to which team cracks and which doesn’t. The pistons come in short favourites to win 83-80 In a close one

PF- D. Nowitzki
SF- H. Turkoglu (replacing injured Josh Howard)

Summary
In a Battle of the heavyweights, Spurs got of to a good start taking a early 11-6 lead as Duncan was playing phenomenal defence. Detroit then rallied back and by the time San Antonio hit 13 points Detroit where just one point behind them. But then Spurs got hot again and went out to a 21-14 lead until in the last 30 seconds the pistons hit back with two three pointers to make it a 21-20 spurs lead at the first change.

Hamilton in his return game then kept the pistons in touch as both teams scored on almost every second possession. The pistons then took a 32-30 lead in a heavily defence dominated game. The spurs and pistons continuously traded buckets and at the conclusion on a fine half the pistons trailed 39-40

Players at the half
Detroit  D. Nowitzki 20 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block
San Antonio  T. Duncan 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks

At the start of the 3rd Detroit came out on red hot fire as they hit 2 consecutive contested three pointers, the crowd became ear piercing as the pistons went up 47-40 off the back of an 8-0 run. Detroit never looked back from that as without resent they went up 57-46 after 4 minutes of play in the 3rd quarter. Both teams then finished off solid on both ends but with a 30-14 point quarter the pistons had established a 69-54 lead.

In the last both teams where solid as Hamilton destructed at one end while Duncan was enjoying easy baskets at the other. The last few minutes where just garbage time as Detroit extended there lead gradually and came home 95 to 80 point Winners.
