1. Chris Paul scored 28 points in the opener. 2. Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum celebrated at the end of the game.

November and December Calendar

ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets had 30 games in November and December. They won 14 games and lost 16, which let them feel pretty good in the future situation. They haven't lost any chances yet to go to playoffs this season and now standing at the 9th place at the Western Conference. The season started with 3 consecutive losses. Then after 1 victory again 3 losses, but the team began to play real basketball and celebrated some very important victories, including 2 victories against Suns. January and February can be very important months for Hornets.

Stats

Image

Chris Paul rules this season, as he averages 21.4 points per game. He adds 6.1 assists per game and 1.7 steals per game as well. Peja averages almost 20 points per game, also have pretty good steals statistics. Rookie Lawrence Conners is without doubt the most all-around player in the team. He averages 13.5 points per game, more than 5 assists and rebounds per game. Leads the team in steals (1.80 SPG), and blocks more than 1 shot per game (1.27 BPG). Tyson Chandler is the best blocker in the team (1.67 BPG), he also averages 11.6 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game. David West, who has got his contract for remaining 5 years is struggling so far. He averages only 8.0 points per game. Maybe this is the result of the 1 week injury, he had in November. The other rookie Hank Harry averages 4.7 points per game and grabs 4 rebounds per game.

MVP Candidates

Image

Amare Stoudemire is leading the race to the MVP so far with 23.5 PPG, 11.6 RPG and amazing 3.29 BPG stats. His teams leads in their divison. Elton Brand of the Clipeprs is behind him with 23.5 PPG and 12.7 RPG. We already have a rookie here. It is Mario Gonzales from the Knicks, who is doing very well so far in the NBA. Dwight Howard and Baron Davis are also pretending to the title, but this is only 2 months and the situation could change very quickly.

November and December Transactions

Image

There were no such important transaction in these 2 months. The biggest trade we can call Warriors and Rockets trade, in which Rockets got center from Latvia Andris Biedrins, while Warriors - Kirk Snyder. In the other trade Toronto Raptos acquired Vladamir Radmanovic from the Lakers. Lakers got Anthony Parker from them. Bucks and Nuggets traded David Noel and Sergei Monia. Seattle SuperSonics signed free agent Loren Woods.

Upcoming Draft Preview

Image

In yet another very strong draft we can see 4 guys from the NLSC. Tuomas Vuollo, Conrad Burry, Aaron Fine and Darius Tam are ready to come to the NBA next year. Tuomas Vuollo a.k.a Tuomas is the point guard from Finland. Scouts believe that he has good potential in the future. He will probably be drafted in the 1st five picks. Conrad Burry a.k.a c0nr4d is the point guard from Toledo, OH. He is undersized PG, but is feeling very comfortable in his position. He will probbaly be drafted in the 1st top 10 picks. Darius Tam a.k.a Marquis is undersized shooting guard from Lithuania. Scouts believe that height will not cause problems and he will have great carrier in the NBA. Aaron Fine a.k.a joyegraham is another point guard in the draft. He came from Canada and ready to be drafted. Scouts says that he will be selected in the 1st round.

Season Standings

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets are at the 9th place now at the Western Conference. San Antonio Spurs are very great so far in this year, having 27-4 record. Pretty the same can be said about other southwest division. Rockets and Mavericks are also playing very well. Phoenix Suns are leading in Pacific division with 19-12 record, while Denver Nuggets are leading in Northwest division so far with only 15-15 record. The worst Western Conference team is Portland Trail Blazers with only 8 victories. In the East we can see Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls teams leading. Both team have 21 wins. We can notice that East teams ar weaker than West. The worst East team Philadelphia 76ers is also the worst team of the league.

The Bests of November

ImageImage
ImageImage

Kevin Garnett seems that want to repeat his success of the last year, and got the best West player of November title. At the East Chris Bosh was anounced as the player of the month, his Raptors were doing pretty well in the first month. West rookie became power forward from Seattle SuperSonics Rumeal Wells, who managed to average 27.8 points per game in his first month ever in the NBA. At the East Mario Gonzalez from the Knicks got the same award as Rumeal Wells.

The Bests of December

ImageImage
ImageImage

We can see new faces in the awards of the month. Elton Brand and Dwight Howard became the best players of December in their conference. Mario Gonzalez repeated his previous month success and was anounced as the best rookie of the month the 2nd time. The best rookie of December was anounced Logan Corey from Houston Rockets.

Nice stuff dude, since your doing a sim dynasty maybe you should try running the simulation fix that can be found a few pages back in the announcements section...

Fri Mar 16, 2007 3:37 pm

Yeah, the sim engine fixes assists nicely. Combine that with a primacy.bat file and run it once a week in your dynasty, it really cuts down on the bigmen dominating the score leaders.

Fri Mar 16, 2007 5:09 pm

I hope you''ll go to the playoffs!!!

Fri Mar 16, 2007 7:12 pm

2nd TRIMESTER UPDATE
Hornets have 27-30 record, still fighting for the playoffs.

All-Star event

Rookie-Sophomore game selections

ImageImage

Hornets rookie Lawrence Conners was selected as the starter for this year's rookie - sophomore game along with M.Peltier, M.Gonzalez, A.Knight and A.Marcos. Conners had 11 points in the game and helped rookies to defeat previous year's rookies 117 : 106. Sophomores' starters contained of R.Foye, B.Roy, J.Garbajosa, A.Bargnani and J.Williams. Bargnani was the biggest star in this game with 29 points, but he was like the one warrior on the team. Player of the game was anounced Mario Gonzalez from New York Knicks, who is having an amazing season and pretending to the Most Valuable Player of the year as well.

All-Star game selections

ImageImage

Chris Paul was selected to play in the all star weekend for the 2nd consecutive time. He was doing very well in this game and helped West to win against East. Player of the game was anounced Amare Stoudemire from the Suns, who is the top MVP candidate at the moment. In the East the best player was Gilbert Arenas, who scored 25 points and dished 10 assists. But East were defeated 110 : 119.

The weekend in pictures

ImageImage
1. Desmond Mason again was selected to participate in slam dunk contest, and again got the 2nd place.
2. Peja Stojakovic got his 2nd 3 point shootout title, where he defeated Gilbert Arenas in the final round.

ImageImage
3. Lawrence Conners was invited to play in this year's rookie - sophomore game, he scored 11 points here.
4. Chris Paul again participated in all star game, he was doing very well here, had 21 points and 7 assists.

January and February Calendar

ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets still have the chances for the playoffs, despite the fact that they haven't start wining. The team has 27-30 record for now and stands 12th at the West. 8th place is very close, but the victories are needed badly. Injuries are one of the reason for the losses. Hilton Armstrong and rookie Hank Harry had injuries in February, and in the last day of February Tyson Chandler suffered an injury, that will force him to miss 12 days. Hopefully the team will concentrate more without him. Hornets didn't make any deadline deals and remained with the same roster. They got the offer from Kings to trade Armstrong for Douby, but the offer was rejected. Game of January 15th will be remembered as the first triple double game by the Lawrence Conners, and great performances by Paul and Stojakovic.

Stats

Image

Peja Stojakovic remained as the leader of the team in points. Chris Paul averages one point less and also leads the team in assists. Lawrence Conners is having almost the same assists numbers as Paul, grabs 6.7 rebounds per game and have solid steals and blocks stats. Tyson Chandler does his job in defense with 1.61 blocks per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. David West has some problems offensively and averages only 8.6 points per game. He was one of the possibilities to be traded before the trade deadline, but the team decided to wait more for better game from him. Desmond Mason, Jannero Pargo, Rasual Butler and Hank Harry replace starters pretty well. The team still waiting for the better game by Armstrong and Simmons.

MVP Candidates

Image

Amare Stoudemire is the leading MVP candidate so far with great stats. He averages 23.5 points per game, 11.6 rebounds per game and amazing 3.22 blocks per game. Dwight Howard, Elton Brand, Kevin Garnett and rookie Mario Gonzalez are contenders for this title.

January and February Transactions

Image

There were no such an important trades in these moths, maybe the one major deal in which Pacers traded rookie C.Schwarz to the Timberwolves for another rookie M.Leon. Nuggets traded 2 players. Eduardo Najera to the Jazz for Matt Harpring and Raul Lopez to the Grizzlies for David Harrison.

Season Standings

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage

Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks are very close to each one. Rockets and Mavericks have 42 victories, while Suns and Spurs have 41. Hornets are at the 12 place, but 8th place is very close and the task is really can be done. East teams are struggling a bit. The best is Chicago Bulls with 35-21 record, Raptors and Heat are trying to catch them. The worst team in the East and also in the whole league is Philadelpfia 76ers, "famous" for last season deals, in which they traded Andre Iguodala for T.J.Ford and 1st round pick for E.Thomas. Well the results are obvious.

The Bests of January

ImageImage
ImageImage

Mario Gonzalez and Logan Corey were selected as the best rookies of January, while Kevin Garnett and Dwight Howard were anounced as the best players in West and East conference. 3 of these players are fighting for the MVP award.

The Bests of February

ImageImage
ImageImage

The situation in February haven't changed so much. Dwight Howard and Kevin Garnett repeated the success of January and were anounced as the best players of February. Mario Gonzalez also repeatedly got this award in the East, while Lawrence Conners from Hornets got his first player of the month award.
