Roy records second triple-double, but Blazers barely squeak by in Double-OT
30 27 18 21 8 4 108
25 30 18 23 8 10 114
Portland, Oregon - The Blazers barely squeaked by in what was one of the best games of the season. Brandon Roy led Portland with his second career (and playoff) triple-double, but the hungry Mavs forced the game into extra frames. The first half was pretty even. Dallas up 57-55 after two quarters. After an even 3rd quarter, the Blazers exploded in the 4th, having an 8 point lead with 2 minutes left to play. A pair of threes by Stackhouse later, the lead was 2. Brandon Roy got his 10th assist as Mike Miller got a huge dunk to put his team up four. Then Dirk answered back with a dunk of his own, then terry stole a pass with 5 seconds to go and nailed a layup on the fastbreak to send the game to OT, tied at 96.
The first OT was pretty uneventful. Both teams playing tight Defense. Brandon Roy grabbed 4 rebounds to bring his total to 9, and they went to double-overtime, tied at 104. Mike Miller made a 3, then Roy grabbed his tenth rebound for a triple-double off a Dirk miss. Playing solid Defense, the Blazers managed to hold the Mavs to 4 points in the Overtime period en route to a 114-108 victory. Mike Miller had 30 points and 11 rebounds, Aldridge had 13 and 13 and Dirk led his team with 31 and 11 but Roy was the center of attention, his triple-double earning him POTG honors.

Dallas, Texas - The Blazers' Cinderella run continues! In yet another tight game, a pair of free-throws by rookie LaMarcus Aldridge capped a great series. The Blazers were strong in the first half. Their lead was 5 after 1, then 8 at the half. Josh Howard, who led Dallas with 32 points led his team to a huge comeback in the 4th. They lead 92-89 with just 30 seconds remaining. Then, Mike Miller hit a three (for a total of 21 points) to tie.
Off a Terry miss, Aldridge grabbed a crucial rebound with 6 seconds remaining and called a strategic timeout. Maurice Williams passed the ball to Aldridge, who missed a dunk, but was fouled by Dirk with 1.1 to go. The rookie hit both free-throws to seal the deal. He finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Roy had a nearly triple double with 16, 8 and 6. Dirk had 13 and 13 and Terry scored 22 but the Dallas 3 could not stop Portland. The Blazers will face the Phoenix Suns next.

Tue May 29, 2007 5:59 pm
Nice work! glad the Blazers made the Finals
I hope you can finish this one off. I don't really care if they are small recaps, just as long as you have some recaps!
I predict Blazers in 5.
Tue May 29, 2007 6:34 pm
YAY your through to the final vs bulls after your youngsters Roy and Aldridge had a great series good luck vs the bulls shouldn't be too easy but i think you will get over the line in 7
Wed May 30, 2007 9:31 am
When I said this wasn't over, I meant it.
The recaps will be about the same as my Warriors one for the Finals. I'm 4 games ahead in my Warriors story, so I'll recap both simultaneously.
Thanks for your support! Game 1: Bulls @ Blazers... up soon!
