Rockets hold on for victory

Despite faltering late, the Houston Rockets held on to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH. Houston nearly blew a 7-pont lead in the closing seconds of the game, but Rashard Lewis missed an easy layup at the buzzer, and the Rockets escaped. Sebastian Telfair notched another double-double.

Next Game: 12/6 vs. LA Clippers

GM Notes:

Telfair just keeps racking up the assists...This pass-first mentality is really working for us. Amare has been his main target, he needs to work on his rebounding, I mean, no rebounds for a center? I'll get DeClan [Walker, asst. coach] to work with him on it. Finally, back home, for three straight games not to mention, we could use some home cookin' right now. First home game is vs. the LA Clippers, who are 3-12, I don't think we should have a real problem with them.

BIG TRADING NEWS!

The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets announced a trade that sends SF Carmelo Anthony and C Mehmet Okur to Houston for SF Mike Dunleavy, SF Ira Newble and PF Etan Thomas.

"I think this is a deal that will benefit us," said Houston GM Jacob Milani. "Mike just wasn't doing enough for us, and Etan and Ira were seldom used."

Miracle comeback gets victory for Houston

The Rockets, somehow, fought back and found a way to win at the Toyota Center vs. the Nets. Down by in the final 30 seconds of regulation, Sebastian Telfair hit a three, got a quick steal, and buried another three. Then he quickly fouled Gary Payton, knowing that the only way Houston had a shot at winning was if the Glove missed at least one of his free throws. He missed the first one, but hit the second one, making it a 3-point game with 8.8 seconds left. The Rockets inbounded it to Telfair, eho got it to Joe Johnson, who hit a game-tying 3 with 1 second left, and Ron Artest nearly missed a last-gasp fling to send it into overtime.

Both temas mostly just exchanged baskets through overtime, with Amare Stoudemire hitting the game-winning adjusted layup with 2.2 seconds left to win it for Houston. Carmelo Anthony had a decent game in his debut with the Rockets.

In his first game against his former team, Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points. The Rockets took a bg lead in the 3rd quarter, and never looked back from there. Sebastian Telfair recorded his 6th straight double-double, but barely got it, hittting a three with 7 seconds left.

Furious Hornets comeback falls short

The Rockets took a huge 13-point lead heading into the 4th quarter, but the Hornets made a furious comeback, tying the game on a long three from Jason Williams with 10.7 seconds left. The Rockets then called timeout, and got the ball in to Sebastian Telfair, who passed it to Joe Johnson, who held the ball, then hit a jumper at the buzzer to win it for Houston.

Telfair leads way(again) in win

Sebastian Telfair kept racking up the assists, this time a season-high 26 dimes, including 14 in the first half. Houston only trailed once in the entire game. The game seemed more like a rout than a mere 8-point victory.

"This is the best we've played on the road all year," said head coach Jeff Van Gundy. "Bassy could not be stopped, even the bench was playing great". Mehmet Okur scored a team high 15 points for Houston. Everybody scored at least 2 for the Rockets.

Sophs rout Rooks to kick off ASW

The Sophomores never trailed, took a 41-26 lead into halftime, and never looked back in a 78-52 win over the Rookies. Led by Houston's Sebastian Telfair and Dallas' Dwight Howard, the Sophs dominated on the block, and made plays in the backcourt that the Rooks couldn't handle.
