C - James Jerome (Was just signed to start?)
PF - Curry - (He was just traded for...)
SF - Q
G - Allan Houston (Was called best player on team right?)
G - Starbury

Sixth man - Crawford

EDDY ! EDDY ! EDDY !

Do it X....

Tue Oct 04, 2005 7:50 pm

I would add Eddy, it adds a fair bit of excitement to the franchise! I'm presuming you'd be the first Knicks dynasty to do so as well. I would do it and focus on developing Frye as a PF and try and ship out one of the numerous other forwards, probably Davis as he is an expiring contract (maybe ship him to Atlanta or somewhere to start as centre for a draft pick or a solid role player).

Anybody know what Eddys rating is in live 06?

Well said (Y) i like the idea of training up Frye into a decent power forward :D

Hes 75 from memory.

Im liking the dynasty so far X, keep it up (Y)

Great start as expexted, my fellow drinking buddy from down under...

I'd say do the Curry trade... (Y)

well guys, it seems that everyone wants Eddy and I was thinking the same thing (even though I'm not an Eddy fan)....I'll see if Jimmy Dexter can pull some strings and make it happen  if I do put it through, Antonio Davis will be waived and returned to the Bulls via dbf-editing as per his and the Bulls' request....

yep, that'll probably be the starting lineup with exception of Houston to start the season....

yep, I definitely think Frye is a PF rather than a C so that is definitely one way I can go....he will probably swing between the positions....although I must admit I want David Lee to be my star rookie :P

as a dynasty vet, you sealed the deal on this one

cheers for the compliment and it's good to have you back....and stop working so hard  and I expect much of the same from your dynasty, when time permits of course

Wed Oct 05, 2005 12:34 am

okay, with the Eddy trade I think I'll be able to pass it through Live without dbf-edit so that I can trade any draft picks....then I'll release Antonio Davis as per his wishes....his contract will be a burden on my cap space for the year or two he has remaining....I'll then dbf-edit Davis back onto the Bulls' roster somewhere I guess....so essentially it's a 2-for-1 trade on my side (TT & Sweetney for Curry) plus I absorb Davis' contract and give away the draft picks....sound good and realistic?

also, does anyone know what draft picks actually changed hands?!? as I know I can deal the '06 ones (which I never like doing  but in the interest of realism I will  ) no problem....I'll do this deal in my dynasty once it goes through in real life so I get all the finer details right

Wed Oct 05, 2005 12:41 am

A case of real life messing up a good dynasty huh X?

I like the deal for the Knicks, you've got extra scoring and some defense and rebounding with AD.

C-James
PF-Curry
SF-Q
SG - Crawford
PG-Marbury

yeah, something like that....trust me, if I had played my first game already then I would have NOT made the trade regardless of how many people would have liked to have seen it....I still don't really see my dynasty as begun until the 1st game is tipped off....so I don't see a problem with it

as for extra D and rebounding with AD, well if you check out AD's rumblings and rumours, it appears the Knicks might release him immediately and then he can return to the Bulls by the end of November....I will take a look over the next day as the trade is officially announced but this is probably what I'll do....I actually feel better about making the trade knowing that I have to give up AD (), keep his contract on my books () & also give up draft picks as well ()

as for your projected lineup, well yep, I'd say that's what my opening night roster will look like :P

Wed Oct 05, 2005 2:21 am

also, does anyone know what draft picks actually changed hands?!?

.........

"The Bulls did what they could and will end up with the Knicks' first-round draft pick in 2006. If the Knicks finish with one of the top-five records in the NBA, the pick will go to 2007."

The Knicks will send forwards Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney, and next year's first-round pick, to the Bulls, according to an Eastern Conference team executive who had knowledge of the deal. In exchange, the Knicks will receive Curry, veteran forward Antonio Davis and possibly draft picks. For salary-cap purposes, the Knicks will also sign and immediately trade guard Jermaine Jackson to Chicago.

Its still unclear about what picks the knicks get..

Hope this helps..

first time checking in here. outstanding offseason recap (Y)

curry sucks at rebounding (only 5.4 rpg i think) in real-life but maybe live 06 is more generous in his rating. if not, maybe he shouldn't be a pf in your lineup.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 3:52 am

Hey hey The X...it's Honor Glow. Well I'm officially in Seattle now so whew... I'm getting back into my Live excitement so I'm ready for the '06 pstat onslaught from you! The file format is still the same as 2005 so I just need to slowly get everything migrated to '06 but nevertheless...when you hit those milestone games please send them over!

welcome to life in the big city, get use to the traffic, it only gets worse as time goes on :x glad you made it to Seattle and hope you're settling in well....I'm giving you a break this time around, only 2 submissions per season (29 game season)

I might be charitable and start James to open season but I envision him being on the bench by the end of November

X, great job on your dynasty! I've been kinda busy right now so I dont write as much but I'm still reading it every day. I can already smell success for the Knicks..

Wed Oct 05, 2005 4:44 pm

Why not start Houston? Is he still hurt X?

I'm thinking my lineup isn't set....I will switch roster around until I get the right mix for me and the Knicks....

Wed Oct 05, 2005 10:46 pm

When's the first game? :)

thaKEAF wrote:When's the first game? :)

yeah... can't wait, too :)

but i think u'll wait until the first roster update by andrew, actually i think that u wrote it before, jus' can't remember xD

Thu Oct 06, 2005 3:18 pm

delay has been due to a few reasons:
1. had to make my own rosters and dbf-edit adjustments
2. crash of dynasty on corrupted rosters
3. re-make of roster
4. trade of eddy curry
5. a combination of personal life commitments (work, bball, tennis and gf)

I will dbf-edit that trade of Curry through after Toastmasters tonight (I don't get home until 10.30pm it's a long day  )....

as for first game, your guess is as good as mine  try to get something up in the meantime to keep everyone entertained
