Because it really happened and he wants to keep it original.

original
Preceding all others in time; first.
Productive of new things or new ideas; inventive: an original mind.
Being the source from which a copy, reproduction, or translation is made.

Are you sure what original means? He is copying a trade that happened which in turn is not being original.

PS. There is nothing wrong with copying a trade that happened in the NBA.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 1:29 pm

what i think he meant is "real" not original, they get mixed up a lot, he just wanted to keep it realistic

No hard feelings... (Y) It's cool... as I said in my thread I never had much inspiration to write for myself but I started in the preseason. By the way, nice dynasty

Raptors Get Run Over In Beantown

Pierce Scores 2 of his 57

Boston, Oct. 14th (Ticker) - Pierce scores a career high 57 points in tonights preason game against Toronto. Marcus Banks also tore the Raptors with 40 points of his own and combined with Pierce to score 107 of Beantown's 142 points.

It was a night where Boston seemed to dominate. It seemed that they were everywhere on the court, knocking away loose balls, and Toronto just seemed incapable to slow down their ferocious offense. But in fact, it was only Pierce and Banks that was doing all the scoring, and that was more than enough to guarentee the win for Beantown.

The Boston Celtics in fact didn't play very good defense, allowing the Raptors to shoot 62.9% from the field, but their offensive rebounding that allowed them to dictate the offense. Pierce was pretty much unstoppable on offense, scoring 24 points in the first half and 33 in the second half. He scored in everyway possible, driving to the rim with behind the back layups, hitting the midrange and long range bombs and ofcourse, scoring at the foul line, where he was 4 of 6.

New Raptor Mike played extremely well, with 13 points and 15 assists, but let his man (Banks) score on him because he was often caught on switches and Banks just blew right by them and went in for the shot, or shot the three. Bosh, continuing where he left off last game against the Jazz, put up 33 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks, but was not enough to carry the team to a W in Beantown.

After the game, Coach Mitchell addressed the media, saying "We need to work on our defense obviously. Our offense is fine and extremely well in fact, but tonight, alot of our guys were confused on defense, and plus, Paul just dominated us with 57. That was just a great game offensively for Paul". Mitchell also praised his new Raptor Mike James " I thought Mike played beautifully on offense and getting the right people the ball, but he got caught on switches and really couldn't play full on defense on banks. We're going to have to adjust a little bit for our next game back home."

With this loss, Toronto is now 1-1 in the preseason.

Toronto will play host to the New Jersey Nets on Oct. 19th

*I'm still adjusting the sliders and against Jersey, I'll play superstar. I know the scores are still unrealistic. I'm still adjusting the sliders, so bear with me.
**Also, I think I should play 8 or 10 min quarters instead of 12
***For the next game, I think I shud switch Joey Graham to Highflyer and Outside Stopper. Any comments on this decision?

Fri Oct 07, 2005 10:03 pm

Hmm... Tough loss, Pierce also torched you pretty badly too. I agree with you that you should re-adjust your sliders or something because the scores so far have been a tad unrealistic.

Switching Graham to a highflyer and outsider stopper? I'll totally love that.

Good job man.

Fri Oct 07, 2005 10:43 pm

lol dude, just like my first dyansty game, the score skyrocketed. I think thing its a wee bit high you know what i mean? maybe bring down game speed a bit so the computer is trying to run it down ur throat..

Sat Oct 08, 2005 1:11 pm

wow 57pts by pierce..... yeah a couple of slider adjustments will fix the high scores..... besides that, your dynasty is lookin great man..... keep it up....

Thanks..I think I've adjusted the sliders to realistic game play now. I've played a few in my updated sliders and the scores are pretty realistic. As for Graham switching to highflyer and outside stopper, he just makes the Raptors a much defensive team in my opinion..can't wait to try him out in the Jersey game

yah I know, The original sliders are bad in my opinion..had to tweak them alot. yah, i've slowed down the game speed to about 35, (before it was lk 50). Hope that does it....and thx for posting (Y)

thx for stopping by, and as for pierce..holy shit that was just insane. I swear he got like every offensive rebound and kept doing that unstoppable reverse lay up right after (that scorer move)...that just drove me nuts when I played that game..and yah..i think i've tweaked the sliders to make it realistic (Y)

Pre Game - Raptors vs. Nets

Image vs. Image

Key Matchup

Jalen Rose vs. Vince Carter
The two are good friends and were teammates together in Toronto until Dec. 17th, 2004, when Carter got traded to the Nets. Carter has rejuvenated his career in Jersey and has put up 27.5 ppg, a mark only by his career high average of 27.6 ppg. Jalen Rose (along with Chris Bosh)has since then become the Raptors leader and lead them with 18.5 ppg last season. In their first 2 encounters since the trade last season, Rose has put up 30 in "game 1" and Carter had put up 39 in "game 2". The two have averaged 25 and 25.1 ppg respectively against each other. Let's see how they'll perform in the preseason.

Inside the Raptors
The Raptors so far are 1-1 in their preseason schedule. They had excellent sucess against the Utah Jazz but got torched by Paul Pierce in Boston. Coach Mitchell had mixed up the lineups in their game against Boston, seeing who would fit in exactly at the center position, while getting 1 starter to come off the bench at least for 1 game. Bosh has been absolutely brillant in the past two games, avg 35.5 ppg and 11.5 rebounds.

Inside the Nets
The Nets have acquired much depth in the offseason, with the additions of Marc Jackson, Scott Padgett, Lamond Murray, Jeff McInnis and also, two draft picks of Antoine Wright and Mile Ilic. Ilic plans to stay in Europe for this season so we won't see him suit up in a Nets uniform this year. With the big three of Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson all healthy and ready to go for the 05-06 season, we're looking at a very scary team. If the Nets force the game to be a transition game, then it's pretty much over for their opponents.

Projected Starters

Raptors:
C - Rafael Araujo
PF - Chris Bosh
SF - Joey Graham
SG - Jalen Rose
PG - Mike James

Nets:
C - Nenad Krstic
PF - Jason Collins
SF - Richard Jefferson
SG - Vince Carter
PG - Jason Kidd

Jalen Rose > Vince Carter.

That's all I have to say.

Another sweet home coming for Vince with 36pts

Toronto (CP) - It was another sweet home coming for Vince Carter.

Vince Carter and the reloaded Nets came into the sellout crowd at Air Canada Center took the victory 116 - 98, putting the Raptors to 1-2 in their preseason. Carter was booed from start till end, but still lead the Nets with 36 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Richard Jefferson had 18 points and JKidd added 21 himself as the big three combined for 75 of the Nets 116.

The Raptors on the other hand, were lead by only Chris Bosh, as he had another strong performance with 34 points and 9 rebounds. Jalen Rose had only 11 and Villanueva had 14 as they were the only Toronto players in double figures. Joey Graham started his second straight game and was only able to muster up 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists as the Nets were already double teaming the young rookie. This would be the second straight game that the Raptors have lost.

It wasn't like Nets played the best defense in the world. The Raptors still shot above 50 percent. It was the rebounding that really killed the Raptors. They got outrebounded on both ends of the court: 16 to 9 on the offensive glass and 24 to 20 on the defensive glass. The Raptors just couldn't match the intensity that the Nets gave them. Rafael Araujo seemed to have worked hard in the offseason, as he put up solid numbers with 8 points and 4 boards. Those numbers don't jump out at you, but to he has defintely shown improvement and he could avoid a ticket to the RimRockers.

After the game, Coach Sam Mitchell was avaliable for comment, and he said that he was not too worried about his preseason record. "My main goal is to see what is working for this club and and improve the overall defense of the club. I've also been mixing the lineup a bit to see who should really get the center starting nod. Right now, Pape's looked real good and Hoffa shown improvement. I'll still give the other big men a chance to play, so I probably won't make the decision until Opening day." Reporters also caught up with Vinsanity, and he said "This is a great way to start the preseason. I think that we're a greatly improved team and we showed that tonight. It was also real good to come home again."

Toronto will face Boston on a rematch Oct. 21st. at home.

Pre Game - Raptors vs. Celtics

Image vs. Image

Key Match up

Morris Peterson vs. Paul Pierce
Sam Mitchell will decide to go with Mo Peterson against Paul Pierce this time around against the Celtics. The last time these two teams met, Pierce lit them up for 57 points, along with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Mo also had a nice performance, with 17 points and 4 assists. That's no Paul Pierce, but he has certainly shown that he is much more consistent on the road. During the offseason, Mo has gotten stronger and quicker, and has also looked good in practice. Locking down Pierce is key for the Raptors in their fourth preseason game.

Inside the Raptors

The Raptors have lost 2 straight preseason games and would like to get a win at home Friday night. After Friday night, they have 3 more preseason games to go, but Coach Mitchell said he'd like his club to set the tone for this season starting friday night. "Though I'm mixing up my roster, I'd like to get a win on Friday night. We start the season with four home games in the first five games of the season. Every sucessful team must have a good home record and a decent road record. I'm talking above .500 here. The other games are in the past, its time to move forward and we're starting Friday night."

Inside the Celtics

The Celtics have shown their excellent young talen they have had. Al Jefferson is proving to be a force on the glass and will get more playing time and the starting nod with the absence of Antoine Walker, who returned briefly to the Celtics in the 04-05 season. Paul Pierce has played exceptional basketball the last time around when they faced Toronto at home. The Celtics also got a surprising boost from Marcus Banks, who poured in 40 against Toronto. The Celtics will also be looking for another W against their division rivals and hopefully know what to expect of them when the regular season comes around.

Projected Starters

Raptors:
C - Aaron Williams
PF - Chris Bosh
SF - Morris Peterson
SG - Jalen Rose
PG - Mike James

Boston:
C - Raef LaFrentz
PF - Al Jefferson
SF - Paul Pierce
SG - Tony Allen
PG - Dan Dickau

thx for the encouragement. As for how many times i'll play the nets..I don't know yet because I haven't started dynasty mode. All this is in exibition mode, but the dynasty schedule should be the same as the real NBA schedule, so according to that, I'll play them 4 times, 2 @ home, 2 on the road.

Raptors Get Revenge

Graham shows his 36 inch vertical with this spectacular windmill jam

Toronto (CP) - Toronto got its revenge against the Boston Celtics with a 116 - 106 victory.

Toronto showed the Boston Celtics that they were not the same team they had beaten on their home floor last Friday as the lineup was much more experienced than last time.

Raptors Coach Sam Mitchell decided to use the veteran lineup against the Celtics on Friday night with Aaron Williams getting the starting nod for the center position. Aaron came out with a bang, scoring 8 of his 21 in the first quarter. He added strength to the center position against LaFrentz compared to last time, who had Villanueva on him. LaFrentz still managed to score, with 14 points and 8 rebounds, but mostly on transition and three pointers. He found it difficult to take it inside against Aaron.

Other veteran players got it rolling too, as Jalen notched up 18 points and 4 assists, while Mo had 11 in limited playing time. Bosh had his allstar self, putting up monster numbers: 33 points, 9 rebounds and also had 4 assists. Bosh has been absolutely spectacular for the Raptors in the preseason. Not once so far had he posted below 30 points in 4 preseason games. He is showing that he is capable of taking over this franchaise and hopefully leading Toronto where they haven't been for 3 consecative seasons: The Playoffs.

There is another sign of why Raptor fans should believe in the team again and be coming to home games . Joey Graham is that reason. He showed that on Friday night and his 2 specatular dunks, which are posted all over the Raptors forum site. He had a specatular windmill dunk from the dotted circle inside the key, roaring after like a true Raptor as he came down, and then, just 2 minutes after in the third quarter, he was once again leaping in the air, posterizing LaFrentz with a vicious one hander. Chuck Swirky, there's a new Air Canada in the House.

As for the Celtics, Paul Pierce once again got it rolling for them in the first half, putting up a monster 25 points in the half, but the Raptors managed to slow him down to only 14 points in the last two quarters. This time, there was no 40 points from Marcus Banks, who came off the bench this time around and was only able to muster up 2 points and 1 rebound. Dan Dickau picked up the slack, but it was not enough for the Celtics as he had 13 points and most importantly, 10 assists for the Celtics. Rookie Gerald Green did not get any playing time from Doc Rivers in both games against Toronto.

Toronto will visit King James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Quicken Loans Arena on Oct. 21st.

Glad to see that you've extracted your revenge. If Bosh keeps playing like this during the regular season, then he'll be an All-Star and MVP candidate for sure.
