The game started off sloppy for the Cavs. They couldnt make their shots, and it looked some what like last season's play.
But they Cavs went out in the 2nd guns blazing. Outscoring the tough the 04 champs 34-21 going into the halftime break only down 7, after trailing by 20 at the first break.

Ben Wallace's defensive presence was missing for most of the game, and having him there may have turned the game around, but he was resting up with a thumb injury from reportedly, playing too much NBA Live 2006.

The third quarter showed the Cavs' defensive side.....yes defensive side. They held Detroit to only 16 points whilst scoring 23 of their own, drawing them to a tie going into the 4th quarter.

LeBron showed why he is the leader, scoring 16 of his 37 in the 4th as well as setting up his teammates and rebounding every miss. In the end the Cavs were too hot to handle, and they got over the line by only 3 points but if you were there, you would think it was more.

Just saw the magazine. One of the better looking ones I've seen around here. (Y) The font looks great. A barcode would've been great too. one quirk I have is how the magazine's name is layup yet Lebron is dunking on the picture

Tue Oct 04, 2005 8:40 pm

Hes actually not dunking in the picture......Its a scan from my Slam magazine.
As hard as it is to believe this pose if from an interception

At the dual shock comment - I didnt even realise it did that when I was making it....never mind, its only a slight mistake

Opening Night Roster

Game Preview
The Cavs are going into the 05/06 season with high expectations. Tommorow night, they face off against the not so powerful Hornets at the Cavs home court.
It will be the first time wearing a Cavs uni for many of the players, but they will be playing no differently.

The main threat will be the low post play of Jamaal Magloire and PJ Brown. But no one can look past JR Smith, who has been working on his game all summer and might be one of the better sophimores this season.
Chris Paul will also be making his NBA debut, and he is reportedly starting.
But the rejuvinated Cavs should do a great job in getting over the line with the W.

Only time will tell.....

No one yet....but I have 2.21m to spend, so I might sign a Free Agent, or two.

The Hornets game and another the next game update will be tonight. But Ive been thinkin, and I thought instead of doing every game update, I was thinking I will do a few double game or weekly recaps. But still do a few single game recaps, just to mix it up.

But Im not sure yet....

1st Quarter
The Cavs players walked onto the court with the biggest cheer ever heard.
The stadium was sold out and every person was up on their feet cheering.
Nothing could pump the Cav guys up more than this, and it showed on the court.
Shots were falling, defense was smooth, they were getting all the rebounds, and the Hornets couldnt do nothin. The Cavs took a nice 32-17 lead into the first break.

2nd Quarter
The Hornets, under JR Smith's reign, decided to not let it slip any further. They matched the Cavs in every aspect, but probaby played better Defence, managing to keep the Cavs to only outscore them by 1 in the quarter.
The half time score was 38-54.

3rd Quarter
The third was almost identical to the first. LeBron coninued to drive and dish to the open Jones, Hughes or Marshall who kept knocking down long range 2s and 3s, giving them a 89-56 lead going into the 4th.

4th Quarter
The game was over going into this quarter, but it wasnt for the Cavs, who continued to squash the Hornets.
Eric Snow came off the bench and hit 2-2 3s in the final, making it 3-3 for the day. Snow isnt known for shooting 3s, in fact he only hit 13 threes all of last season which was also his career best.
Thats how good things were going for the Cavs, and they proved that they mean business this upcoming season.

Final Score: 116-76

[Players of the Game]

1st Quarter
The first quarter was a nice close contested game of basketball. Both teams were playing good D, but both were struggling on offense. LeBron James had the worst opening quarter of his career, not getting a single point. but on the upside for the Cavs, considering that, they were only down 2 points at the break, 19-21.

2nd Quarter
The second quarter brought not much change in the game, and the same with LeBrons, as he barely managed to score, only getting 1 basket in the whole of the first half. It wasnt looking good for him and his team as they went into the half down by 5.
37-42

3rd Quarter
The 3rd showed a much better side of the Cavs, the got their offense rolling for most of the quarter and their defense held the Spurs to the same score as them at the end of the quarter. And good signs were showing for LeBron who scored 7 in the quarter. Whilst the rest of the team were also chipping in, but it wasnt enough to get the lead into the break.
60-65

4th Quarter
The Cavs came out firing, with LeBron dishing out 5 assists in a row, while the Cavs came within 1 and kept it there til the end. Damon Jones hit 2 clutch 3s in the last but the Spurs trio of TD, Manu and Parker, made sure they wouldnt give the game up.
It came down to the last couple of plays. There was 50 secs left on the clock, Spurs ball, Spurs up 1.
Parker drove the key, but as he went for the lay in, big Z came from no where and blocked the shot. Cavs timeout with 30 left.
Cavs gave it to LeBron who was cold all night and they called an Iso againt Bowen. LeBron was eyeing Bowen, then jab stepped left and went right, but as Bowen came to his right, LeBron crossed back onto his left, catching Bowen off guard and LeBron dunked it over Ginobili. Cavs up 1, 12 left, Spurs timeout.
Spurs passed it in to Duncan, who took the Sky Hook over Marshall which went in with 4 seconds left, Cavs timeout.
LeBron got the inbound but was tripple teamed. He manage to get the tap pass to Hughes who fired up the off balance baseling two from 22 ft. 1, 2, 3 bounces before rolling out.....Cavs lose.

Final Score: 82-81

[Players of the Game]
Manu Ginobili: 20 points/5 rebounds/5 assists
LeBron James: 18 points/10 rebounds/10 assists/8-25 FG
Tim Duncan: 19 points/11 rebounds/7-12 FG

You got an easy one against New Orleans but tough loss to the champs. Sounded like a close game but good effort anyhow. Nice highlights as usual.

1st Quarter
The Cavs looked focused walking onto the court. Like they had revenge or something....maybe it was the defeat the night before, maybe who knows.
But they came out with a job, and they did exactly that. Giving the Grizzlies and opening quarter shalacking! Scoring 36 to their 20.
Leaded by LeBron with 13 quarter points, who told the press he was upset of how he wasnt a presence yesterday vs the Spurs.

2nd Quarter
They didnt stop after the break, it was like their was no stoppage at all. They played exactly the same, except better Defence! Showing the Grizzlies and the rest of the L, that they mean business.
70-38

3rd Quarter
As expected the Grizzlies started getting their groove, and Damon Stoudemire was the one to lead the way. He was all over the court, and he helped lead the charge for the grizzlies heading into the 4th as they outscore the Cavs 33-20, pulling themselves to 90-71.

4th Quarter
The Cavs were choking, they werent playing the game they brought in the first half. The Grizzlies held the Cavs to 7 points up until the 2 minute mark, but LeBron didnt want none of it, and took the team under his wing.
He handles like Iverson, he was grabbing rebounds like Charles Barkley, dishing assists like J-Kidd, stealing the ball like....like someone who steals alot.
In the end, the Cavs, through one of LeBrons finest games, got the W by a convincing 9 points.

Final Score: 109-100

[Players of the Game]
LeBron James: 29 points/10 assists/9 rebounds/4 steals/8-9 FT
Damon Stoudemire: 23 points/14 assists/3 rebounds
Donyell Marshall: 20 points/11 rebounds/7-9 FG/27 minutes
