bullsfan, i'm really proud to see that the best dynasty in this forum is the one for Live 2000 :D and I'd add that even if we had to wait for 6 years to read your dynasty it was still worth it :D In terms of realism, I hope you'll make playoffs but I also hope that you won't win the title this year  Waiting for another year will make the story amazingly good!

*Sensation* wrote:Two tough losses. Your old players burned you in the Heat game, but Howard gave a great effort in your second loss to the Suns. They're tough teams, the good thing is you saw a lot of great things for some of your players. Good luck next game.

Thanks Sensation. It's always good to look at the positives of any situation, because when you look hard enough you'll see that there always are some. I have to build on the positives for the Bucks (great play of Howard & Wade) and find some consistent support to make it even better. That's my biggest challenge right now, and why I traded for Kareem Rush and Melvin Ely. Hopefully it helps...

Oh yeah, I get after it on defense  It's said that offense puts fans in the seats, but defense wins championships  . I have a question- the Kings are known for being great on offense but, no offense here, "soft" on defense, and that's why they haven't made it to the finals yet. Do you agree and think that this is the problem? Or if not, what kept them from beating the Lakers & Spurs in their prime years a few seasons ago with Divac-Webber-Peja-Christie-Bibby?

Wow what a compliment  Thanks a lot alexboom, I try to put a lot of time & effort & care into the dynasty.

But I guess that this is as good a time as any to announce that this will be my final season that I'm going to post around here. Don't cry now , it's just that I need the time that I'm spending working on for other things in my life. It's been a lot of fun being around the NLSC, though, and I thank everyone for their support & conversations, and Alex also for the patches. (Y)

But that's why I really want to win the title this year: TO GO OUT ON TOP! :D So I'm going to try really hard, and I want to make one more trade that I would like everyone's assistance with. Ready? (cracking knuckles)

I want to trade Dan Gadzuric, my starting center. He practically never scores, and isn't dominating the boards or on defense to make him worth keeping. I want to start Vlade Divac, and back him up with Melvin Ely, who's rated a 90 in inside scoring...

If you guys can think of possible trades for me, I'd appreciate it. I'm also open to trading Eddie Jones, because he's building entire neighborhoods with his bricks right now...

I'll make a poll question with some possibilities & also hope that you guys post for any other trades you can think of. We've got win it all this year!!! :)

Yeah, it did, Sac-1. Those were some exciting years in the NBA. Hopefully the Kings can make it back to a Finals contender soon...

Yes, it's "The Last Dance" like Phil Jackson said about the '98 Bulls. I just need the time for other things. You play your dynasty at work, so you can combine the two, but I work, then go home & play, and there's not much time for anything else many nights  There's many other things I want to do.

But I definitely want to win the title this year with these Bucks.

nah probably not, at least regularly.

Game 18: Dallas Mavericks (9-11) @ Milwaukee Bucks (10-7)

DAL 101, MIL 93

Bucks Lose 3rd Straight- Turnovers, Poor Defense, and 4th Quarter Woes Cause Loss

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN- The Milwaukee Bucks walked off the court after last night’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks a frustrated team. From the coaches, to the players, to the fans in the stands at the Bradley Center, everyone was trying to figure out why they had now lost 3 games in a row, and were quickly giving up their playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference.
 By the numbers alone, the reasons for this loss were obvious. Milwaukee committed 20 turnovers in the game, including 8 each from Nate Robinson and Dwyane Wade  . Coach Porter was going crazy on the sidelines, agonizing with each one that killed his team’s offensive rhythm and gave Dallas easy baskets.
 The Bucks were also pounded on the boards. Dallas grabbed 52 rebounds to their 40, and had more than double their amount of offensive rebounds (13 to 6). This is simply a hustle stat that indicated that Bucks players are either tired, or not trying hard enough on the glass. The Bucks starting big men, Dan Gadzuric and Dwight Howard, combined for 15 rebounds in the game. Dallas’s Dirk Nowitzki had 15 by himself  , and his frontcourt mate Erick Dampier added 13 more.
 And finally, the fourth quarter was disastrous for Milwaukee. Dallas scored 35 points on 17 field goals, 16 of which were assisted. Point guard T.J. Ford (a former Buck) had 10 assists in the quarter alone, and an eye-popping 21 for the game. While the Mavs shot 71% in the final quarter, Milwaukee shot a measly 37% and saw a late 88-84 lead quickly turn into a 98-90 deficit that they never could recover from.
 Let’s hope the Bucks can recover from this loss, because all the momentum they now possess is going in the direction they don’t want to go in- south in the standings.

GAME NOTES
Bucks management is disappointed with the poor defense, rebounding, and outside shooting that the team has been displaying recently. Dwyane Wade and Dwight Howard are being hung out to dry, because nobody else has been able to consistently play well on this team. Eddie Jones once again struggled with his shot, enduring a 3-for-10 shooting night. He’s 13-for-34 in his last 3 games (38.2%), all Bucks losses. The team would prefer to keep him, but if he doesn’t improve, a move might be made before the impending trading deadline.

Game 19: Milwaukee Bucks (10-8) @ Los Angeles Clippers (7-7)

MIL 107, LAC 102

Back on the Winning Track- Bucks Play as a Team, Beat Clippers

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA- The Milwaukee Bucks are learning what it means to play, and win, as a team in the NBA. There are certain leaders of the team who must “lead” the way, and then role players around them who must contribute in a major way to help lift the team to victory. This formula worked extremely well for the Bucks in last night’s game against the up-and-coming Los Angeles Clippers.
 Firstly, the team leaders Dwyane Wade and Dwight Howard, each had monster games. Wade scored 32 points on 13 of 23 shooting, adding 6 assists and 3 rebounds for good measure. :P And Howard was magnificent, scoring 21 points, but more importantly grabbing 16 rebounds (7 offensive) and holding Clippers PF Elton Brand to a subpar outing of 9 points and 7 rebounds on 4-for-14 shooting. :D
 These efforts weren’t enough to win the game, though- other players always have to step up their games. This time, it was newly acquired swingman sharpshooter Kareem Rush who lit up the nets for 20 points off the bench. Rush was particularly smoking in the second quarter, nailing shot after shot off of quick dishes from PG Beno Udrih. “I was in a great rhythm offensively tonight,” he later acknowledged. Rush hit 4 threes in the ballgame, stretching the defense for low post scoring and making the Clippers wary of double-teaming Dwyane Wade on his attacking drives to the basket.
 Udrih was the other Buck to play really well. He came off the bench to score 9 points on just 5 field goal attempts, and added 9 important assists. “Beno was a calming influence on the team tonight,” Bucks coach Terry Porter analyzed. “He got the shooters into their rhythm by hitting them with hard passes right between the numbers every time. And he only turned the ball over twice. That’s what any coach loves to see.”
 These great Bucks contributions were able to overcome a superb game from Clippers SG Corey Maggette, who scored a game-high 34 points. He kept the pressure on Wade, his defender, as well as the entire Milwaukee squad by consistently lighting it up from all over the court. He made 16 of his 28 field goal attempts- a solid 57.1%. :o
 All in all, it was a win full of relief for Milwaukee, because it ended their 3-game losing streak. They will host Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves in their next game, and then it will be the All-Star break.

GAME NOTES
The Bucks coaching staff has been pleasantly surprised with the play of big man Melvin Ely, who came over with Rush in the Trajan Langdon trade from the Bobcats. He’s an excellent low-post scorer, and adequate rebounder and athlete. His ability to play center has suddenly made Dan Gadzuric expendable. Gadzuric has been non-existent on offense, scoring only 2 points total in his last 3 games! If the Bucks could trade him, they could start consistent backup Vlade Divac and back him up with Ely. And Gadzuric’s rebounding and defensive abilities could bring them a good player back in return. We’ll see what happens here.

GAME STATS

MILWAUKEE

Wade made a good job in this game, Howard was very good too. IMO he are much better now and this is just his 2nd year on the NBA  . Also, Rush was a monster on the game. But Eddie Jones aren't playing very well, you should trade him for another good SF, but I don't think you should trade Gadzuric, he are doing a good job on the team.
BTW I was Jermaine ONeal, but I changed because Diogo is my real name (lol... Diogo gonna study English someday...)

he's my go-to guy, just wait till the playoffs :D

Diogo (formerly Jermaine ONeal)- Ok I'll call you Diogo from now on. Your english is improving greatly, way to go (Y) . One correction- "he" goes with "is," not "are" (which is for more than 1 person). So instead of "he are much better now", say "he is much better now," and instead of "Eddie Jones aren't playing very well," it would be "EJ isn't playing very well," and finally "he are doing a good job on the team," should be "he is doing a good job on the team." Other than that your words were gramatically perfect (Y)

As for the content :P of your words, I agree that I should trade Eddie Jones for a better small forward. But to get one better, I'm going to have to include another player, and I was thinking of Gadzuric because he's not scoring for me. But he is a very good defensive center, so maybe you're right not to trade him. I'll think about it. In the meantime, who do you think I trade Jones for? And Sac-1: any suggestions?

I'd suggest a package Dan Gadzuric+Eddie Jones for a killer at the SF spot. An all-around player that can lead your team when Wade is down, but that can also defend, rebound. I have Grant Hill in mind, but I'm not sure if the salaries will match, and if it will be realistic :? (every trade you made until now were all realistic, that's something really uncommon in Live dynasties)

These 2 players should be able to bring you a big name :) And as it's (already! poor of us ) your last year, you don't have to worry about players' contract.

lol, thanks for the corrections and for the comment (Y) . About the trade, try Eddie Jones + Dan Gadzuric (you must trade him right?) for Corey Maggete, Rashard Lewis, D-Mase or another explosive player (I don't know if is possible because of the salaries).

Spoken like a true GM. :) That's exactly what I want! I'll look into going after Hill...

alexboom wrote:(every trade you made until now were all realistic, that's something really uncommon in Live dynasties)
I'd say the only unrealistic trade of mine was for Dwyane Wade. I gave up a lot, but in real life I don't think Miami would ever trade him unless they got a better individual player in return (LeBron, Kobe, T-Mac, Dirk, etc...) I want to keep my dynasty realistic, but also I want to win the title, so if the computer accepts a trade, I may just do it... 8-)

thanks Sensation. Howard's definitely stepping it up for me, I'm happy to see. And Traylor & Rush are helping my bench production...

I checked out some trade possibilities:

 I offered the Los Angeles Lakers Dan Gadzuric + Eddie Jones for Caron Butler and Brian Grant, and they would do it.

 I offered the Seattle Supersonics Gadzuric + Jones for Rashard Lewis, and they would do it.

 I offered the Orlando Magic Gadzuric + Jones for Grant Hill and they would do it with either throwing in Bryce Drew or Kelvin Cato.

I like the Hill + Cato deal, and also Rashard Lewis would be great on the Bucks. But I don't want to be too unrealistic...Hill's rating had fallen from Year 1, he's now just a 77 overall, the same as Eddie Jones. So maybe that's the most fair, and best deal...

What do you all think? I'm going to update the poll to reflect these discoveries.

err...how do you do that (change a poll)? I tried to edit my initial post in this thread, but the poll wasn't there... :?
