Wizards strike gold again, get top pick
Coming in with the second best odds, the lottery balls bounced in the Wizards' favor and they will choose #1 overall for the second straight season.
The Grizzlies got even luckier, as they jumped up from the 10th spot to #2. Rudy Gay was present and was really happy with the result, saying that this will definitely help the Grizzlies make the Playoffs much sooner.
The Clippers fell from #3 to #5 and the Kings fell from #1 to #4. DeMarcus Cousins said he and the Kings are disappointed with the result, as the team is in a bad situation and possibly on the move to Anaheim.
The HEAT, who are battling the Lakers in the NBA Finals, got the 13th pick via a mid-season trade with Chicago.
The top 14 picks shaped out like this :
1. Washington Wizards 2. Memphis Grizzlies 3. Detroit Pistons 4. Sacramento Kings 5. Los Angeles Clippers 6. Minnesota Timberwolves 7. Toronto Raptors 8. Phoenix Suns 9. Philadelphia 76ers 10. Philadelphia 76ers (via Golden State) 11. New Jersey Nets 12. Cleveland Cavaliers 13. Miami Heat (via Chicago) 14. Portland Trail Blazers

Lai impressive in early workouts, Mayberry falls down board
Intriguing international prospect Leo Lai had a very successful workout for the Philadelphia 76ers, who are picking 9th and 10th overall.
The Sixers coach Doug Collins was very impressed with Lai's perimeter game, athleticism and perimeter defense.
Add that to a successful Draft Combine appearance and Lai's stock is sky-rocketing. He has recently scheduled workouts with the Timberwolves and Pistons, who are picking 6th and 3rd overall.
And while his stock is raising, Stephon Mayberry's is dropping. Despite an amazing freshman year at Syracuse, where many thought he was a lock for #1 pick, he performed moderately well at the Combine and the Wizards, who hold the #1 pick, weren't that impressed with him.
The Heat scheduled workouts with Jimmer Fredette, Thierry Tirieux and Brandon Knight and GM Pat Riley said he was impressed with all of them, but is afraid that at #13 they might all be gone. He hasn't ruled out trading up, using the 30th pick.
The Denver Nuggets are also interested in trading up, perhaps trying to land a forward to help them as Carmelo Anthony is expected not to be with the team next year.

Report : Carmelo Trade on Draft Night
The Denver Nuggets are considering a complete re-build at draft night, sources say.
They have a deal in place to send Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups to the Knicks for Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari and Raymond Felton. Whether draft picks or more players will be added, remains to be seen.
According to various reports, Carmelo might not be the only Nugget traded, as the Nuggets are trying to trade into the lottery. Free agents JR Smith and Kenyon Martin have both expressed that they'll look for a new contract elsewhere.House declines player option, becomes UFA
Eddie House has declined his player option for a 2nd season with the HEAT and will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The HEAT won't re-sign Jerry Stackhouse, Carlos Arroyo and Erick Dampier, sources say. Of the three, only Arroyo saw playing time in the Finals, averaging 3.6 minutes.
Eddie House was reportedly 'fed up' with the Heat, despite winning his 2nd championship and playing reserve minutes in the Finals, averaging 3.2 points in 11.4 minutesCavaliers impressed with Will Sit
Will Sit had a successful work-out with the Cavaliers and GM Chris Grant and head coach Byron Scott made no secret of the fact, that they will try to get him if he falls to #13.
"He is definitely talented, a very good scorer and he has great all-around skills. He's not the most athletic, but I think he can be a leader one day in this league with his instincts and basketball IQ," said Scott after Sit's workout.
Sit has had work-outs with the 76ers, Suns, Heat and Kings and he has impressed everybody. Sit has worked with a personal trainer for a year in the States and he is drawing a lot of interest of teams, because many GM's and coaches haven't seen him play.
