It looks like the Cavs fans have something to cheer about as the Cleveland Cavaliers as they overpowered the Los Angeles Lakers. The duo of Cid Xavier and Kris Sims take charge in this victory. Xavier had 25 points and hit 5 shots beyond the arc while Sims had 21 points.

The Cavaliers have out rebound the Lakers 46 to 29 while also shutting down their outside as the Lakers did not hit any three point shots. Andrew Bynum led his team with 21 points while Rip Hamilton seconded with 20 points. Pau Gasol had 19 points, 8 boards, 2 steal and 2 blocks.

Center Anderson Varejao also had a good game with 15 points and 9 boards while Manny Harris scored 12 points off the bench in 8 minutes of playing time.

Cavs are the team of the future if they can blow you out (even without Kobe, I'd think you'ld take em') I wish this happens IRL so Cavs fans will stop hatin' on LeBron.

Well they now have Xavier and Sims who both are good scorers even as a rookie. You can't blame the fans for hating on LeBron.

Your thinking that the team is better without Kobe then suggesting that it is better with Kobe.

LA Lakers 2011-12|2 Games

On the Road

After losing the first game of their seven game eastern road trip the Los Angeles Lakers look to bounce back as they face the New York Knicks.

Against the bright lights of the Madison Square Garden the Lakers shined as it look like an easy win for them but after leading as much as 20 points the Knicks rallied behind Tony Douglas and Amare Stoudemire. They cut the lead to just 5 points but the Lakers hold on to win the game. Pau Gasol almost had a triple double with 27 points, 9 boards and 7 assists.

Their next game was against the Washington Wizards who are without their young star John Wall. Again it looks like an easy win for the Lakers but the Wizards just got on fire in the third quarter and hold on for a closed win. Rookie Austin Rowe started for the Wizards and finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists while Andray Blatche scored 21 points and Rashard Lewis added 18. Rip Hamilton led the Lakers with 18 points. Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol had identical numbers with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Clearly the Lakers are struggling on the road but they need to shake it off as their next game is against the Chicago Bulls.

IRL that might of been one of Pau's best games.Tough loss against the Wizards. Was John Wall out for the game?

I think he had a couple of games like that early in the 2010 season. Yes Wall is out I'm sure I included that in the recap.

In a battle of two of the best defensive teams in the league today the Los Angeles Lakers have come out as the victor over the Chicago Bulls.

Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 20 points and 11 rebounds but it was their bench who really was the key to the win. In the third quarter the Lakers outscored the Bulls 30-16, leading the way was Derek Fisher who 10 of his 14 points in the third quarter while Lamar Odom had 8 of his 12 points as they lead by 9 points going to the final quarter.

The Bulls managed to get closed as they made a run behind the efforts of Joakim Noah. Noah battled in the fourth quarter hustling for loose balls as they tied the game 83-83 with 10 seconds left. But the Bulls defense just left Odom free for a dunk in the baseline and got fouled by Taj Gibson.

The Bulls struggled offensively and was led by Craig Mark in scoring, the second round pick of the team scored 18 points but disappear in the fourth. Derrick Rose also struggled having only 14 points in 7-20 shooting. Noah finished had a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds clearly out playing Andrew Bynum who only had 9 points and 7 boards.

LA Lakers Fast Forward
A quick look on how the team is performing for a couple of months
Image
December 2011

Image
    A Month Without Mamba

The Los Angeles Lakers started the month of December without Kobe Bryant who is out with a broken wrist. Although there have been some struggles during this month the Lakers had some players who step up big time for the team’s success.

Andrew Bynum had a couple of 30 point games for the team. Rip Hamilton who filled in for Bryant’s spot averaged double figures in scoring. Lamar Odom had double-double in almost of all of the games while playing off the bench. Pau Gasol has been the star of the team posting monstrous numbers. Overall the team has done a great job on hanging on with the best record on the league with a 25-8 standing.

Image
    Pau's Team?

With Kobe Bryant out for a month it was Pau Gasol who fills in the star role and make best of the opportunity. Often labeled as a soft player, Gasol silenced the critics as he averages 23.6 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 5.5 APG and 2.3 BPG.

    Pau Gasol's Best Games
    GamesPerformance
    @ Houston23 points,15 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks
    VS Phoenix24 points,14 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 blocks
    @ New York28 points,9 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block
    @ Chicago20 points,11 rebounds,2 blocks
    VS Milwaukee18 points,14 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocks
    VS Miami35 points,12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks
    VS Philadelphia29 points,13 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks

    Image
    Gasol blocks Wade

Gasol's best game comes from an overtime loss against the Miami Heat. The Lakers loss in a controversial block by Gasol on Wade that could possibly send the game to another overtime instead it was called a goal tending violation.

Even with some disappointing losses Pau Gasol still remains one of the top candidates for MVP this season as it seems there is no stopping this man from dominating the league this season.
