In a superb 11-for-11 performance, Orlando's superstar center Dwight Howard single-handedly stopped the Domination in the midst of a monumental comeback. Orlando led by as much as 19 in the fourth quarter, but the Domination fought all the way back to three points. Dwight Howard intercepted both of the next two entry passes and Marcus Thornton drained two threes, giving Orlando a 9 point lead with three minutes remaining. On the very next possession, guards Anthony Morrow and Avery Orr fought for a rebound and both fell to the ground. The 6'6 rookie guard Orr got up immediately, but Anthony Morrow remained on the floor, clutching his knee. He was helped off the court and couldn't walk under his own power.

The Domination were not able to make a comeback, and were further shaken when they found out Morrow had sustained a torn meniscus and a dislocated kneecap. Morrow will miss at least two months, but could miss the rest of the season, with the injury.

Cleveland is a much improved team with the addition of Deron Williams and rookie Darren Howard. When Williams wasn't on the bench with foul trouble, he was passing the ball, stole a lot of passes, and did almost everything except score. He finished with a season-low five points, but had eleven assists and four steals. Rookie point guard Darren Howard did the scoring off the bench. He scored 16 points, including a long three that beat the buzzer going into halftime. Danillo Gallinari was strong on offense with 33 points and five assists, while Josh Boone and JJ Hickson did the dirty work down low on defense; they totaled eight blocks between them. Troy Murphy added more to the Cavalier frontcourt, registering 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals. The common theme: while scoring and rebounding, the Cavaliers were able to defend the Domination. Given how well they played against North Carolina, it is no surprise this squad is 7-5, good for 6th in the East. The Domination hold 7th with their 6-6 record.

OK, maybe Jared Dudley didn't drop 70 on LeBron like he hoped he would. But he basically replicated the statline of the league's best player. Dwyane Wade also had a great night with 25 points and 4 assists, and Jrue Holiday had his best game of the season, and his first double-double of the season. DeJuan Blair played well against his former team, but was dunked on by Tyson Chandler, who put a little extra into the dunk, by knocking Blair into the cameras. He responded by blocking Chandler's next layup attempt, sending the ball into the crowd. This kind of determination is what separated Miami from North Carolina. James and Wade seemed determined to prove themselves on every possession, and the bench played with the same mindset. Mike Miller and Ricky Rubio both scored double digits.

Are the Domination Facing a Much-Needed Turnaround?

The Domination changed a lot in the two days between their games with Miami and Portland. Coming off a 20-point loss to Miami, the Domination kept a 20-point lead for most of the game. Chris Henderson is no longer the guy who nearly got a triple-double, but now has actually got one. Walter Herrmann went from being a healthy scratch against Miami, to leading all scorers with 23 points. The Domination's defense against the opposing team's star players were awful against Miami, but against Portland, they held Lamarcus Aldridge to 11 points and 7 rebounds and Rudy Gay to 13 points, including 0-6 from outside.

The amazing part is that the Domination did all of this while shooting only 25% (7-for-28) from behind the arc. "We had to find other ways to score," said Jared Dudley after the game. "Walter was open and he was getting open looks from the inside. Same with Tyson Chandler. They both racked up big points, while some of us, myself inlcuded, couldn't get our shots going. Also, I've got to credit Tyson, Nene, and Chris [Henderson] with getting 17 offensive rebounds off bad shots. That really saved our asses at times, and the lead definitely would not have been anywhere this big."

Points were so evenly spread out for North Carolina players tonight, that the leading scorer, Jared Dudley, had 14 points, and eight other players had either 10 or 11 points. In addition to his 10 points, Tyson Chandler had 13 boards, 4 blocks, 3 steals, and 3 assists- one of his best all-around statlines. The Domination seemed to do a little of everything. Except defend Kobe Bryant. The 34-year-old Bryant had slowed down significantly in the last few months, but still keeps his scoring average over 20 points per game, no longer relying on athleticism, but on sticking amazing shots that no one else can replicate. His scoring was what pushed the Lakers over the hump in the fourth quarter, but the rest of his game was mediocre, only grabbing one rebound, and letting guys like Jared Dudley, Alexander Henderson, and Corey Harrington get open looks at shots and passes. Unfortunately, these three didn't play particularly well on offense.

Remember Jerryd Bayless? He was picked first in the Domination's expansion draft, then he signed a contract with the Suns and was traded to Knicks six months later as part of a package for Amar'e Stoudemire. Since struggling at times in North Carolina and Phoenix, he has played at an extremely high level in New York, averaging nearly 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists a game! He repeated those number against the team he was supposedly destined to lead just two years ago. As an analyst put it, "If the Knicks were winning games, Bayless would be a lock for the All-Star game. He's been an amazing player for the last few months, and I think him an O.J. Mayo are the Knicks building blocks for the future."

He certainly looked like a franchise player. He scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, and at the end of the game, flirted with what could have been his second triple-double. Despite still missing their first overall pick, Tristan King, the Knicks were able to pull of their third victory of the season against a slumping borderline-playoff team. Eventually the game came down to the wire, and it was Courtney Lee that put the game away with a pair of layups.

Shannon Brown To Be Traded?

It seems imminent that Shannon Brown will be traded. He has been slipping out of the rotation all season, and last week, Domination GM Zee Otoo confirmed that he has been working on a trade for Shannon Brown after Brown requested a change. He also confirmed that Brown will either be traded to the New Orleans Hornets or the Houston Rockets. Neither team has worked out a trade completely, but here are two possible scenarios:

1. Houston sends Aaron Brooks and rookie forward Ron Kidd to NC for Shannon Brown and Corey Harrington. The salaries do not match up yet, and more Dominators would need to leave. Badu Thomas and Steve Novak would likely be added to the trade to balance it out. Brooks is currently averaging 23.0ppg, and Kidd has 8.3ppg and 6rpg and is a very versatile player. Harrington and Brown together average just 17ppg combined.

2. New Orleans sends Rudy Fernandez to NC for Shannon Brown, Mario West, Badu Thomas, and Eric Rivers. The Hornets' backcourt of Rudy Fernandez and Goran Dragic currently averages about 45ppg. Fernandez has flourished in his starting role, with nearly 22ppg, but is fed up with the team's 2-14 start to the season. Dragic, however, wants to remain with the team.
